I used it to recover data from the hard drive when my laptop crashed. I didn't have to use the software that came with the kit.

Great product. I did not use the software but the cord allowed me to salvage data off an old computer's hard drive. If you have a little computer skills and want to avoid taking your hard drive to a stranger, this product is for you.

This cable made upgrading my hard drive a simple process. All you do is follow the instructions which consists of installing the software, connecting the cable to your new drive and then follow the on screen instructions. Then you just swap the drives and your done! Everything on your new drive is exactly as it was before!

You don't have much of an option if you want a fast and efficient means to transfer a lot of data. Worked good!

Fast Reliable Transfer. I needed to quickly transfer a lot of large files after recording a multi-day event in a deck that records to solid state drives. The files were all hundreds of gigs. This cable transferred amazingly faster than the USB 2 wires that I tried. This was well worth the purchase.

Simple to use. Hardest thing was getting the hard drive out of the laptop. Connection was simple and it worked like a charm.

This is a faster version of the previous Apricorn interface.

Bought this to transfer large amounts of data from a few old hard drives I was replacing. The transfer speed was great, the cable feels well built, and the connector especially feels like it will last me a long time. If you are looking for a long lasting but simple sata to USB transfer cable...This is the one.

very practical for transferring hard drives but only with SATA

My old laptops power button decided to stop working and I had extremely important legal documentation that was needed to be submitted (which took days to gather). With this little gadget, I was able to transfer everything I needed from pics to notes in Outlook to documents and emails to my new laptop in about an hour.

Read information on how to use the device. Inserted the disk, identified files to be transferred, and away we went. Everything was transferred properly. Before starting the download process, if you can, do not put other data/files on the new laptop.

I was in need of a generic SATA to USB adapter and this product fit the bill. Worked easily and as described on packaging.

Was looking for the right cable and Software to help me go from HD to SSD. This combination of cable and Software worked like a charm. No delay, not a single problem. Got all my Windows 10 software,data, music, and files and pictures transferred, within my allotted time frame.

I had no issues with the software - it copied my entire HDD to an SSD without any glitches, and it was fairly quick too. The adapter can also be used to turn an SATA drive into an external in most cases, so it’s not just a one-use product.

Used the provided cable and the Samsung software to clone my existing 120 GB SSD to a new Samsung 1 TB SSD. This product does it what is expected.

Did not work well in my case could not recognize a ssd drive

Worked for transferring the OS from a new laptop to an SSD. Also works great for transferring data to and from a 2.5" drive.

Purchased to save data off dying drive removed from iMac - alas, drive was too far gone! Got cable for $21, or would not have purchased - store list price of $40 too much. They price matched web prices in store, so kudos for that. Always check online price...
