I absolutely loved this movie in the theater and made sure I purchased the Steelbook version once it was available. The movie itself has action scenes that make you feel like you’re watching a comic book come to life. The colors pop off the screen. Wan created an Atlantis that is fantastic. Part Camelot, part Asgard and part Tron. The story is easy to follow. Jason Momoa is a perfect Arthur Curry/Aquaman. This is not the Super Friends version of Aquaman. Momoa’s Aquaman is a rocker/cowboy type personality. Momoa’s charisma carries the part and the movie. He was very good in Justice League. He is excellent in his own movie. Amber Herd, Patrick Wilson and Willem Defoe are all excellent in their roles as well. This is definitely a fun popcorn movie the whole family will enjoy.

I used to read short blond blue-eyed Aquaman comics (and watched the Super Friends) back in the day so I get the traditionalists who think Aquaman should've been played by someone else. But to me it made sense that someone with Pacific Islander ethnicity and surfer-dude personality play this role. Also, personal-wise, it was very relatable to me. Jason Momoa was meant for this role. He has charisma and positive vibes. The movie itself is a visual Star Wars-esque feel to it but underwater. But it was just comic book fun. There are some hits and misses with the actors and acting but who cares. I was entertained for two hours. It was better in the theaters but worked well with my home entertainment system. I recommend this movie.

I loved this movie!! I thought it was awesome!! Even though I just watched it last week, I still wanna watch it again. I love the fact that because of being in the privacy of my own home, I didn't have to deal the movie theatre mayhem, like people coughing over my shoulders, people talking on the phone or turning on those super bright phone screens while sitting in seats down lower than me, people laughing and talking the entire movie and sometimes spoiling the movie because they saw it a few days before me, or people kicking my seat. Not having to deal with all that was great in itself!! And the movie was completely awesome!! Don't get me wrong, no movie is perfect, but this movie was close to it. Come on part 2!!

Aquaman is a fun and great ride all the way! For years Aquaman was pretty much known for being the the most ridiculous of comic characters(both in and out of DC) so naturally when making this movie and also introducing this character(BvS) you had to some how smash all those previous thoughts on Aquaman and portray him in a way that wouldn’t be too silly and that’s exaclty what they did and Jason Mamoa makes you love his Aquaman, what’s even more great is they took all those silly things that Aquaman known for(riding sea horses, talking to fish, silly trident) and rather than disregard them celebrate them instead. If you love comic characters and want to see how they did this one you have to check this out!

WOW, what an entertaining film! I've been a fan of the Aquaman comics since I was 8 (way back in 1982, to provide some context), so I was a bit skeptical when I first found out that Warner Bros/DC was making a live-action movie and that Jason Momoa was playing him. Boy, was I impressed with his performance. The man did the role justice and then some. The entire cast did all their roles justice, really. The blu-ray bonus features are pretty cool and worth watching, as well. My only complaint about the movie is the price Best Buy charges for it. In this age of digital downloads being more common, they really should try to make their prices more competitive.

First off, this is a long movie (4K). This is a fun movie to watch for sure. And the audio is AWESOME! Even if your not a super hero movie fan but want to show off your system, this is the movie. Picture ***** lots of detail, lots to look at. There's fish, statues, city scapes, etc... As there should be this is a mostly cgi movie. Audio***** this had my system flexing it's muscle for sure. Could feel all the low bass rumbling through my couch from the subwoofer. Surround sound is immersive, you really feel like your in the movie and swimming in the ocean with them. I can't remember the last time that I pushed my HT this hard. Nothing but smiles from me.

AQUAMAN 3D BLU RAY IS AWESOME!!!

I recently purchased AquaMan on 3D Blu Ray & it was an awesome purchase that I DO NOT regret... The whole movie in was action-packed from the start of the movie to the end (in regular movies when/when I saw it in the movies around Christmas 2018) whereas 3D Blu Ray adds another whole new dimension, in all aspects, to this movie... I would highly recommend AQUAMAN 3D BLU RAY to family members, friends, business associates as well as those who are reading this review... The only thing that could have been better would have been is BEST BUY'S "UPGRADE & SAVE" whereas I would've brought another copy for my nephew who's a die-hard Super Hero movie fan...

WOW!!! It’s really amazing at how they have really brought this particular comic book character to life in a action packed movie; That’ll keep you glued to the screen expecting more and it does deliver in a spectacular way. This movie is filled with action, drama and adventure. The special effects are truly breath taking; This is another one of those wonderful movies that you can and would want to keep watching over and over again. This movie is so intense with action and awesome special effects; So yes this one is truly worth purchasing simply because it’s an overall well cast and The Director done an outstanding Job with this movie for sure!!!!!

Aquaman is one of those movies that catches you eyes not only because it it a superhero film but rather because of it's special FX. the FX are stunning and the 4K w/ Dolby Vision HDR definitely does this movie justice. The story is fairly standard issue, however this is not an origin story per se. In this instance we are catching up with Arthur Curry post "Justice League" , but we are treated to flashbacks of a young Arthur and his struggles to become the future king of Atlantis. The story has everything you'd expect from a superhero movie which is to say that if you like this type of genre of film you will enjoy Aquaman!

    The King oh Atlantis

Aquaman’s plot kind of reminds you of Black Panther where two different kings come into power. Before Arthur Curry can become King he must prove himself and challenge his half brother for the throne. Which he does at the beginning of the film but of course things don’t go as planned. Mera his soon to Queen accompanies Arthur on a quest to find a all powerful trident that can aid Aquaman in becoming king. Along the way he crosses paths with his arch-enemy Black-Manta who momentarily sidetracks our heroes from their quest. Once Arthur & Mera find the hiding place of the trident Aquaman has to challenge a monster for the trident. Their is fight is very short when the creature realizes Arthur can speak to fish and it let’s him have the trident. Not to mention Arthur finds out his once thought dead Mother is alive and well. Last but not least our heroes return to Atlantis and Aquaman challenges his brother again for the throne and succeeds this time.

Jason Momoa IS Aquaman! I can't see anyone else as Aquaman, ever! He knocked it out of the park. He took the one of the most undervalued superheros and made him badass! Some parts of the story are predictable but it's wonderfully embellished and development. Visually it is amazing. There are scenes underwater that made me uncomfortable. That's how real it looked. This is the best DC movie since Wonder Woman. It is clear that they wanted to make a great movie. They did it. If Justice League, Batman v Superman, and Man of Steel let you down, don't worry about this one. This one is much better than those.

Look, movies are meant to make us smile. I know, I know...Some people feeeel that a movie should make you "think", should make you be "more aware". I think. I am aware. I just want to escape reality for a bit and enjoy myself. This film does just that. It is FUN! For those that feeeel otherwise, that feeeel a movie should give you angst and make you empathetic to whatever? Go watch the classic film, "Sullivan's Travels". Trust me...I know what I'm doin' when I'm reviewin'.

Aquaman is a fun popcorn flick, far less serious and dark in tone compared to the rest of the DCEU films, this isn't the edited mess that Batman V Superman or Justice League was. This film really should have released before Justice League. James Wan does a great job here keeping things light, action is fun and peppered throughout. My biggest gripe of the film was some of the music choices, I found some songs to ruin the tone of scenes or just came off as the wrong song for the moment. Performances across the board are generally good, the villains in this film are really strong. Patrick Wilson as Orm, Arthur's (Aguaman) half brother is fun, over the top, and the two of them together have an almost Thor/Loki type relationship that will be fun to watch unfold over future films. Black Manta was my favorite parts of the film, had a very cool 1980's action vibe to his scenes and he felt like a real threat to Arthur.

I am a lover of comic book movies and this movie does not disappoint. The underwater CG when they are in personal situations is good but not great but lets get real they had a budget to meet. I liked the story as a comic and as an animated movie and they kept to that story which was awesome. Add to all of the general reasons to like the movie, Jason Momoa is, well, Jason Momoa. Although he is not the classic surfer-bum-blond-and-glib he does fit the comic version from... I believe it was the 1980s. My only grump would be that the artwork on the steel-book isn't something from the movie.

The movie was great, better than most in the DC Extended Universe, but that's another story for another day. The story was good, the character development was great, and the action was everything I had hoped for. The 3D experience of it all was incredible! I've seen Finding Nemo in 3D, and that made me feel like I was underwater. Aquaman took the 3D experience to another level for the simple fact that it's live-action. It wasn't annoyingly right-in-your-face 3D, but the depths felt natural, which is how I like to experience it. Definitely give this DCEU movie a go!

Movie: Definitely one of the better DCU movies to date. Likeable cast, insanely well-done action sequences, great sound track. 4KUHD disc (watched on an OLED): An absolute eye opener. Definitely reference visuals and audio here. Dolby Vision makes everything pop, colors are rich and vibrant while dark scenes are very dark, yet natural. Audio is on a whole other level. Constant use of all surrounds, dialogue is crystal clear and the bass is so incredibly deep and powerful. 5/5 stars. Highly recommended even if you wanted something to demo a home theater setup.

ok I seen the preview for aquaman and did not go to the theatre as I knew I would want to see it at home in 4k. was the wait worth it. the special effects just added to the story so much more. to me it was like seeing the first batman movie with Michael Keaton. it told the story of aquaman but it was more. the cast was amazing even Nicole Kidman which her part was not huge but she stole the show in the end....literally...I am soooooo jonesing now for the 2nd one ...if no one is writing it yet...get on with it....NOW!!!!!!!!!
