This Arcade1up digital pinball machine is outstanding. I have purchased several arcade cabinets from them and this is my favourite by far. I love pinball, I play it at arcades very often, this digital machine holds up extremely well. The only word or warning is that you absolutely NEED to download and install the patch that Arcade1up released.

I've waited long enough, finally added a pinball corner to the home arcade. A1up Bally Williams Attack from Mars. Don't know why I waited so long to get this but I absolutely love it and so does my son obviously (he's hogging it). Great addition to the home arcade with 10 built in tables, light up marquee, duel speakers, plunger, solenoid feedback and bright beautiful play field.

This cabinet has its issues, primarily the crappy screen downscaled to 720p and rhe one table(whitewater) being unplayable, but i love it and play medieval madness daily. The cab looks good and i enjoy it. Would reccomend for the casual pinball player that appreciates the look and size of this cab.

Well it is fun to play when it works! The 1st machine I had I put many hours on it. All the visuals failed 7 months later. Had the Best Buy warranty and they replaced it. Built the replacement machine and the score display failed.

For a long time, I considered this purchase. I like the idea of a 3/4-sized table that I can move. I like the idea of pinball as a video game rather than trying to maintain hard-to-replace physical parts. I knew the Arcade1Up machines had 720p screens rather than 1080i. While this bothered me, I couldn't find something better in the same price range. The most important piece was the 10 Williams tables, including Attack From Mars, considered one of the best-ever pinball designs. I've had this machine for four weeks now. I immediately applied the software patch, so all the games are working and I have not run into any lag issues. The flippers appear to work as they should (lag can manifest as a ball appearing to pass through a flipper). I liked the thought of solenoids giving the machine the sound and feel of flipper and bumper use, but the noise ended up being a bit too loud, so I turned it off. I ran into one issue with the software update. The port on the back of the machine was a bit finicky on accepting its male USB counterpart. Luckily, I found a short cable with the housing surrounding the male end shaved down enough to fit. The update itself went smoothly with the recommended software. The accelerometer that came with the machine (Arcade1Up calls it a G-Sensor) wasn't working, firing a constant "tilt" warning when the machine wasn't being touched. Support was helpful and quickly sent a new G-Sensor, which is easily installed. That worked for about a week, then started to malfunction, though not as constantly. As of now, I can still "nudge" the table, but only when the nudge setting is low, and I'm not too confident the machine will hold up to the beating, so I'm not really using it. The machine comes mainly as a constructed box with the screen and body. You attach the four legs with screws. You build the backglass from pieces of MDF board and plexiglass, and attach it to the main CPU board with wires, then use screws to secure the backglass to the machine. It's a fairly simple build and the components fit together well. While I don't want to test the legs by banging the machine around to nudge it, it seems otherwise sturdy enough for home use. The machine comes with a plexiglass sheet over the screen. This distorts the view a bit - plexiglass is a poor choice here, though it saves a bit of weight and is less fragile. I had a local glass shop cut a 16 1/4" by 23 1/4" (1/4" thickness, standard seam edge) pane of tempered glass, which fit perfectly in place of the plexiglass and looks much nicer. There are online sources for glass panes specifically made for Arcade1Up pinball machines, but for about three times as much as I paid to have it done locally. I would say that switching to tempered glass adds about as much value as it would for Arcade1Up to switch to a 1080i screen. Having both would be wonderful. If not for the accelerometer issue, I'd say this machine is well worth the current sale price ($599). A cheap component, but for whatever reason (every smart phone has them - and they have to work perfectly), whether it's saving a few dollars and getting inferior components or it's just that the software (even patched) doesn't calibrate them properly, it seems like a common issue with these machines. Of the tables, I find myself playing Attack From Mars, Medieval Madness and Getaway a lot. Some of the other tables are pretty, but I don't think as well implemented in the software, with center drains too common on basic shots (and with nudge not working, that's a game-breaker). There are software animations for some of the tables. Thankfully, they can be turned off, as they are dreadful, non-pinball-like visual atrocities. Other simple software issues: I wish the pre-set high scores could be erased, and I wish they could be viewed after multi-player games. The boot-up and table-load functions take a long time (boot-up is 40 seconds), but that's a common issue with emulators. All in all, I think I'm happy with this purchase. I didn't expect it to be perfect. I hope there's a second patch to allow better G-Sensor calibration, but it's been so long after this machine was released and Arcade1Up doesn't seem to be adding more pinball machines that I don't think it will happen.

Typical Arcade1Up, great presentation, execution could use some work. The "Good" is based on expectations for what you are paying. It's a $500ish "toy", nothing more. The "Bad" is based on the same expectations, it should have been better. The Good: Machine is solid and feels like a nice piece of equipment. Tables are fun and based on real pinball tables. Sound is serviceable but could be better, it works for what it is. The Bad: Had to open a warranty claim for the nudge sensor since it was registering with the machine perfectly still and level. The new part addressed this. One of the tables (White Water) is unplayable due to lag. The text is unreadable on the tables due to 720p and the resolution needed to keep a decent frame rate on the tables. The plexiglass is different from the Star Wars and Marvel machines, there is a rainbow type effect that is annoying.

Really good build quality and a great emulation from Zen make this soooo freaking good! You lose yourself while playing and forget it's digital. The persistent high scores, optional effects, table guides, and more make it a really complete pinball experience. They did a great job adding the feeling of the solenoids and individual effects in a pretty good footprint. The Arabian Nights, Medieval Madness and Attack From Mars are just so freaking addictive. Maybe in the future they release a 1:1 size!

Very cool v-pin machine. -plays great. -Wish screen was bigger instead of black outline frame. -solinoids feel good. -great sound. -great game options. - back box is nice. I'm worried about the PCB overheating as I've seen in some forums can happen. I plan on adding a laptop cooling fan to the inside or maybe running an external fan near the machine. Simple want to keep it working for longer period of time. There. Is a soft mod available to add more games so I'll be trying that soon. Glad I bought Through Bestbuy as I have Total Tech and therefore get an extra year of warranty included. Gotta say I've used total tech way more than I ever thought. Definitely a good program.

Solid machine. Only negatives are 720p can be hard to see at angles and washed out. Also the ball can lag somewhat slightly. Which is super annoying. But the look and the pop of real solenoids are what make this a great machine. Cosmetically it is gorgeous outside. And resembles the original perfectly.

Initially I wasn't interested in purchasing pinball, but after taking a chance, I'm glad I did (My first pinball vPinball). The table feels high quality. Some may complain about the screen size/resolution, but in my opinion, it's perfectly fine. All 10 tables are extremely fun (one table in particular has a framerate issue, but will be corrected with a software update). Assembly takes less time than the upright cabinets. The haptics, in my opinion, adds to the experience and work really well. I'm not totally into pinball machines but I could not stop playing this machine. The sound, the amount of activity/action on the screens (the main table and the top screen) were very engaging and entertaining. The rush I got from this machine surpasses that of the other 14 Arcade1Up cabs I have. In my opinion, the wait was well worth it!!! It's not perfect, but for the price, the fun factor is VERY HIGH for me. I now want to get another one (Star Wars pinball). I purchased this machine on my birthday month and got a discount. I highly recommend this machine.

Purchased this as a Christmas gift. Shipping time was excellent! Ordered 4 days before Christmas. Received it two days later, today in fact. I did some research online to review other buyers comments before purchasing. This was carefully assembled in less than 1 hour. The only other tool required is a Philips screw driver, It comes with a hex driver for most of the fasteners. Some of the reviews stated that there is a "software patch" available at www.arcade1up.com. I recommend installing the patch given some of the statements made by other buyers. Please follow the instructions carefully to install the patch. The patch does resolve known issues with this item. I was a pinball fanatic & multiple times a pinball champion back in the 70's. As the world evolved to modern electronic technology I have experienced "digital pinball" on a PC, IE: Desktop Computer through the years. I experience the digital pinball revolution. At first I thought that "digital" pinball would never be like "arcade" pinball. So for lack of pinball offerings for PC I figured I would give the "Attack From Mars" 3/4 sized pinball game a try. It does have 10 pinball games. The haptics & solenoids give this the "REAL FEEL" of arcade style pinball tables. So.... Be Patient when assembling. Read and follow all instructions. And in no time even old school pinball players will enjoy this and other Arcade1up offerings.

I love this product. I remember playing several of these titles in the arcades when i was younger. I have owned several full size pins over the years. But, the full sized pins are heavy, expensive and require constant maintenance. This is a good home version of the pins where you can get to know the rules, feels like a real machine with the flipper and pop solenoids, nudging and bumping the ball and is fun to play. I would probably have several real pins but we just don't have the room nor the budget to do that. With this, you basically have 10 machines in one and can play at home. I will play the full size pins when i'm out enjoying time with friends at the arcade spending a lot less with plugging my quarters and dollars there. I hope they come out with another version that has other titles.

I really like these Arcade1up machines, I have an assortment of 13. This machine didn’t disappoint, There is one thing. There are 10 Williams pinball tables represented here, and one of them, Whitewater, needs an update. I believe Arcade1up is working in this, so it will be even better once that happens. Otherwise, I’m really enjoying this machine, especially the Attack From Mars table- easily my favorite. Also, happily I was able to get mine for $599.99, just a few days befor Arcade1up raised the price of the three pinball tables to $849.99.

I've always wanted a pinball machine but cost was extremely prohibitive. Enter virtual pinball. You get 10 games for a fraction of the price of one full sized machine! The smaller size meant it wouldn't take much space in my game room. One problem though, if you are interested in this one machine you should know that one table is almost unplayable - White Water. I hope they would update the software someday (which they have done on their other machines). So, for the price, 9 out of 10 awesome games is still not bad.

A great value, especially for real-world pinball fans. At 1/10 of the price of a real pinball, packed with lots of great, top rated games. I didn’t give it a top score because it shipped with a glitched game (Whitewater), the score display is washed out, and there’s screen tearing on the playfield that can be fixed by putting in glass. For positives, the sound is great, the cabinet looks good, and the height is right. Excellent line up of games. It also is easy to put together and takes up less space. It also has a great interface.

I’m a 46 year old man and I love this thing!! The music and sound effects are 100% accurate to the original tables. 9 of the tables play exceptional with White Water being the lone exception which has a glitch that makes it tough to play ( hoping they release a patch). The game fields are clear and while the dot matrix is a little washed out it is still very visible and has the classic animations of these pins. I can read / visualize the play field with no problems and really enjoy the haptic feedback as is..... if you are playing with your hands on the top of the machine with fingers on the buttons like you would any pinball machine you feel them and it adds to the game ( not sure what others are expecting). The build is high quality and solid. Took about 40 min to put together. The screen size is fine and I’m happy with it, could it have been a few inches bigger? Sure but this looks and plays great..... the measure of a game is if it is fun and enjoyable to play, and while I have only had this about 12 hours—- we have messed with every setting and table and had a TON of fun and really enjoy playing this....you can shoot the ramps and play strategically as there is a game/ challenge page with each table that spells out the nuances of each table...one last comment as people have complained about the tilt/ table shake not working —- mine works fine and seems responsive -/ the few times I have tried it.....In my opinion this is worth the $$ and is extremely fun.( I’m a gamer and this is the most fun I have had with a “ electronic gaming device” in a very long time...
