I purchased the Arlo Pro for outdoor use. I have two other brands of outdoor cameras as well. The Arlo Pro outperforms the other brands overall. The Arlo Pro has NO wires, and after a week, the rechargeable battery is still at full power. The sound picks up incredible detail, including our dog's nail-claws as he walks across our wood patio and a cat's meow 20 feet away. The image is crystal clear during the day, and darker black and white at night but picks up excellent detail at 20 feet away at night. My voice comes through loud and clear when using the talk mode. The central indoor transmitter is 45 feet away from the outdoor camera, separated by a brick fireplace, and connection is just fine. The transmitter is much smaller than I anticipated. I'm very pleased with this purchase and would like more cameras. I do not usually write reviews.

Cameras work well. Setup is easy. Camera placement takes a little time - they pick up motion much easier when the motion crosses the path of the camera - not when it is coming towards or going away from it. The picture from the cameras is good, not super high def, but faces are generally recognizable. License plates are not readable. The recordings are easily checked from a phone, ipad or computer. The app from Arlo is very good and easy to use. The manual can be downloaded online and answers a lot of questions. Additionally Arlo online help searches are good.. Battery life has been good so far, but it is summer. All in all a very good system at a reasonable price without ongoing monthly fees. The online storage is a big plus also. This system is terrific for areas where a camera is desired but there is no power. The battery driven cameras are the answer.

I purchased this camera system to monitor our cabin after having a game camera stolen. It has been up and running for 3 weeks now. Set up was easily accomplished by following directions. I set it up and went home. The very next day we had visitors snooping around. I now have a video of them and their truck. The audio is very impressive as I had no trouble hearing their conversation. Although I could have said something to them I chose not to because I'm unsure of the time delay. I will experiment with that my next time there. A few days ago I was able to discover another unwanted guest - a woodchuck. Overall I am pleased as of yet. The batteries are at around 80%. I have received several motion detection notices, almost all have been insects or birds but I'm okay with that. I'd rather error on the side of caution. I am happy with the system.

This is the 3rd security system I've tried, and the first that's been any good. I have the cameras set up at various locations on my ranch, and the range of the cameras from how far they can be from the base station is impressive. The company says about 300 feet, but at that distance I only just begin to show a weaker signal. If you have the cameras in an area where there is a lot of movement, the batteries will drain faster. I have to charge the camera in my dog run every 2-3 days, whereas the camera at my front door, which has much less traffic, will last over a week. That said, they make solar panels for the cameras and I would highly recommend investing in them. The camera picture is crisp and clear and even the might vision is impressive. There is rarely any lag in connecting to the playback system in my phone. Back to the whole wireless part: the cameras are easy to mount and are truly wireless. They connect to the mount with a magnet so if you put them in an area where people might be tempted to steal them, if recommend mounting them out of arms reach. Since I use mine mostly to monitor animals, that's not an issue for me. Overall, this is an expensive system but so far I feel like I've gotten what I've paid for and am very happy with my purchase.

Easy to set-up and install. If you don’t record every single movement - batteries last well over a month! Good sound and video. Night time video is excellent as well! I have 4 cameras installed - no wires!! Signal is great!

We were prompted to upgrade our security recently when one of our cars was broken into. We needed something quick and easy to install that had good motion detection and night vision capture. So far this system is exactly what we were looking for. We got a great testimonial from another customer that was at the store just to get another outside wall mount for his system and he was a former police officer for many years. He couldn't say enough great things about his system and how easy it was to set up. One thing I will note is that when it is super humid in the morning the night vision is a little foggy. Other than that the picture is clear and the motion detection and video capture has been great. We have one at the front of the house and one and the he back.

Purchased this set with 4 cameras and installed it very easily. Quality of the cameras are fantastic and night vision is quite clear as well. I liked the mount that came with the unit which was easy to install and holds the camera very firmly. All functions work well and am liking it so far. Will certainly recommend this product.

I purchased the Arlo Pro system with 4 cameras. Since cameras are wide angle the images seem a bit distorted, and are not as sharp as I had expected from a 'HD' camera. I have seen worse images from other systems. Color rendition is very good IMHO. Night vision (IR) is black/white like all the others. I bought one additional camera (for five total) to get the coverage area I wanted. Arlo add-ons (skins, mounts, etc) from Netgear are not cheap. Shop Amazon for off-brands, just watch out for low-quality. With up to five cameras you can have free, but limited, cloud storage. If you have more than five cameras you need to pay Netgear for cloud storage. All five of my cameras are mounted outside. I turned the Audio detection off, left Motion detection on, in an attempt to extend battery life. If I had a camera inside I would have both Audio and Motion detection turned on. Only downside I see in the future is when I need to pull the cameras back down to recharge the batteries. So far battery life seems very good. All five cameras have been running 24/7 for four weeks and the battery indicators have not moved. So far ... so good.

Researched several camera systems. After reading the reviews I decided to go with the Arlo Pro, installation was easy and the system works great. I have had the camera for about 3 weeks and the battery life is still at 70% with a lot of activity during the day. Highly recommend this camera, be sure to purchase the outdoor mount.

The Arlo Pro cameras seem to do an ok job, clear video even at night, very easy to install. No monthly charges and initial sale price was good for a 4 camera set. I've had it a couple weeks. The system does have a few unacceptable quirks. Lag time between sensing movement and actually beginning to record can be excessively long. People approaching are detected but by the time recording begins they in some cases they have turned and are walking away. Not sure if it is the camera location, angle, or my wi-fi signal even though signal is strong.. The Android app's notifications are not loud enough to hear if sleeping or the phone is not actually in my hand. It would be better if the base station siren also had a volume setting to simply sound a short notification (much like a door bell ring) . It has limitations, but Would I buy it again? Yes

I have used the Arlo Pro for about a week now and am very impressed. It was very easy to set up and the app is very user friendly. However, it was very time consuming to set up each camera exactly the way I wanted it, but I am very picky. The only negative experience that occurred during setup was a frozen inverted preview image, which I could not fix until I uninstalled and reinstalled the app (I included a photo - it did not matter if invert image was turned on or off) Settings options: Turn camera on/off, label each camera, night vision on/off, invert image (in case the camera is upside down), zoom and drag viewing area, adjust video quality/battery life, toggle microphone and speaker, and adjust motion sensitivity. There are options to ensure your camera is set up just the way you like it, in terms of camera positioning and motion detection. I like that Arlo will support up to 5 cameras with a rolling 7 days worth of recording (up to 1 GB) at no extra charge. There are options to add even more and increase cloud storage for an extra monthly fee. The only really negative things I have to say about this camera are that it does not have 1080p ability (I’m not sure if it would even matter), it is missing a charging dock on the base station (it would be nice just to set a camera on the base and let the camera recharge), and there is a lack of GPS tracking in case of camera theft. Easy to set up. Good quality picture and sound. Camera does seem very sensitive with motion detection, but I would rather have it too sensitive than not. You can adjust the sensitivity level , just haven’t fine tuned it yet. I plan on adding more cameras. Love that it is 100% wireless from the camera stand point.

There are quite a few good things about this Arlo wireless security system, and some things that are not the greatest, I will list the good things first. The Arlo wireless security cameras are really convenient. The batteries are well designed and have a quality feel. The siren built into the Arlo base, is plenty loud. The magnetic mounts allow flexible camera positioning. The cameras do have a plenty strong magnetic hold onto the mounts, which keeps the cameras firmly in the desired placement. It is possible to view the video and adjust the settings from a desktop browser, and also from a smart phone. The price for this Arlo Pro security system is a bit much in my opinion, but then again so is having to replace expensive belongings if someone were to break in and steals your stuff. The overall build quality is decent, but could be better. The power cable to the base station is a run of the mill 12 volt adapter, considering the original selling price, I was expecting a premium power supply. The micro USB cable that charges the batteries is too long in my opinion, it is kind of a hassle to wind and unwind such a long cable, it is like 6 foot long. The micro USB cable has a smaller than normal grabbing area on the micro connector side, which is not that easy to grab. When the micro USB cable is plugged into the camera, the rubber boot that covers the electrical connection, sticks out just far enough to prevent the cameras from sitting flat on a table, the cameras have to be sitting with the cable end hanging over the countertop, otherwise the rubber boot will be hitting the countertop. (One of my pictures shows the rubber boot hanging down past the level of the countertop) The hinge that opens up and allows access to the battery compartment, does not open very far, just barely enough to allow the battery to be added and removed, this in itself is only an issue if ever flipping open the hinged cover and not realizing that it has a limited opening width, it would be quite easy to break the cover off. Once this is realized, it is easy to avoid, but a sticker from the factory noting that the cover only opens 90 degrees, would be a really good idea, to prevent new customers from breaking off the hinged cover, even before getting to use the product. There is no 1-800 phone number for technical support, it is necessary to call a phone number that could be long distance if you have a home phone with local access calling only. (There is only 90 days of 24 hour phone tech support, so it is best to thoroughly test the Arlo security system, so that if you have any questions, you can call and get the answers you need, before the 90 days runs out. Have you ever bought a really expensive product and you notice the packaging was really nice, whel this is not the case with this Arlo pro security package, which does not affect the product itself, I was just expecting this to be a product with really nice packaging. The base is a bit smaller and cheaper feeling than I had expected, it feels really light in the hand, I am sure it has sufficient components on the inside to handle the task, but the overall build of the Arlo base, seemed a bit lacking. I guess quite a few of the things that I am pointing out, would not even be worthy of mentioning, if it were not for the original selling price being so high. I would recommend this product to a friend if it were priced more reasonably. Overall, the Arlo wireless security cameras are convenient and reasonably easy to setup, and the video quality is pretty good.

the only thing I didn't like is the internet-only interface - it went from occasionally not recording any video on actual motion detections to not connecting to the internet at all - even though the internet indicator is green and the device is present on my network and all my other devices connect to the internet just fine - after I return it I will not buy any more security devices that only work over the internet - its just not for me with that said, it was impressive otherwise, sharp picture day and night - good motion detection with instant notification even though it takes a minute to actually view the video (if it actually got uploaded) - batteries still half charged after 25 days - usb backup does work without internet (but strangely not with internet when upload fails to record video then usb does not record it either) - very simple setup and operation - I like the magnetic mount, it's so simple and effective - base has no problem recovering from power loss - other than having internet connection problems - the only issue I'd complain about is for outdoor use it doesn't have a hood over the lens so water drops do collect on the lens when it rains which interferes with the video and motion detection I would prefer the pro 2 to have 1080p and ability to record a few seconds preceding motion detection I'd recommend it but only if you have no networking skill or desire to manage a more conventional locally networked security system - or if you wanted to use the amazon voice control features (I don't use that) - all in all it is an easy to use system

I was looking for an easy to setup wireless camera system that would allow me to monitor the cameras from my cell phone on demand without any kind of on going service fees. This was the ticket. The cameras are easy to setup, do not require any wiring, and provide a good quality live video image whenever I want. I was able to configure the notifications to suit me. The batteries last about 2 to 3 months between charging. Charging takes about 2 hours from 5% to 100%. One thing to note, you do have to have an internet connection for the system to work. There is no local storage so if the power goes out or the internet goes down you will not record anything. Very happy with my purchase.

Easy installation that gives you the option to change your mind because it's wireless. Battery is decent but depends on the traffic. Records clear voice and decent 720p picture. Warning mic does not work with T-MOBILE

Purchased for use outdoor and indoor. So far both have held up great even outside with rain, etc. The battery lasted about a month in each camera. They charged back up super fast. Set up was very easy. Images are clear and everything works as advertised. Happy with the purchase so far.

I bought the camera system so that my husband who is away for work a lot could see our daughter whenever he wants to. There were times that we would be sleeping and he can't call us. He would just go online and see us without having to wake us up. So let's talk about the camera. It was a really easy set up. Maybe 5 minutes. Easy to install on the wall. It has a very strong magnet to hold it up. You can see the live images online. It is also a 2 way audio. Meaning you can hear what people are saying and you can talk back. It has pretty good night mode. I can see if my daughter is still awake at night with all the lights turned off. It has a motion detector. The camera turns on this red light if it detects movement at night. This is not really bothersome. I never really notice it unless I am looking at it directly. It has a siren you can turn on if you need to, like breaks in. Thankfully I don't have to use it yet so I can't really comment on it. It also records the videos for 7 days (I think). You have the option to back it up on their paid cloud service or USB for free that you attach to the base of the camera. The reason I gave it a 4 star is battery life and the charger. Battery life of the camera in high traffic areas is about 1-1.5 weeks, maybe 2 at most. This is just from my personal experience. In addition, you can't use any charger to charge the camera. It has to be the one that came with it. This becomes a problem because if I have 2 cameras that are low on battery, I have to wait about 2 hours or so before I can charge the next camera. So I ended up buying a charging station that can charge 2 batteries at the same time. I think the charging station should be free when you buy the 4 camera pack. But otherwise, I am very satisfied with this camera. I can check up on my daughter anytime I want, especially if I just want to take a quick peek and not really engage in a conversation esp when you are doing something at work etc.

Very user friendly, easy to setup and adjust. Easy to integrate with cell phone/tablet and PC. Decent battery life, Would suggest you purchase 2 spare batteries and a charger to expedite battery change outs.These this system definitely adds to my homes security.

I purchased the Pro set with 4 cameras. I have three doors leading into the house and have them on each door. The fourth is viewing my driveway. Video quality is great. Had the system completely installed in about an hour. Very easy and it works great!
