I bought this along with the doorbell and chime because I tought it was going to be a good combination. Wrong, the doorbell will not ring the chime most of the time and when it does, it will not bring the video feed from the door camera (to which is linked to as well). I truly wish I could return the whole thing.

I’ve owned an Arlo Pro system for several years and upgraded to the Arlo Pro 2 system last year. All the reviews were great, and I agreed: it was a great system. HOWEVER, a recent firmware push by the company has turned it into a terrible system, UNLESS you pay for their premium service! Hundreds of false alarms caused by the slightest breeze is now the norm, when before, the shadows from trees didn’t cause any alarms at all! BUYER BEWARE!!! All the great reviews in the magazines and online were written before the recent firmware update.

setup was ok and fairly easy. My problem was 20 or so days after install. batteries need a charge, but.. CHARGER DOES NOT WORK! UGH.... so i have a new system and cant charge the batteries and ARLO make their charger proprietary so i just cant use another usb charger ( i probably have 6 others). so i am dead in the water.

I've tried for two days to get this system to set up with the doorbell. I've had no luck I even bought another doorbell to see if that would make a difference. It does not I am taking it back as soon as I can. Netgear dropped the ball on this and pushed it out way before it was ready.

Decent system, but doorbell is nearly useless

    Posted .

The system is very easy to set up, although the instructions are not completely correct. You need to be somewhat intuitive. The doorbell was an added feature I didn't really need, and it's a good thing! Figuring out how to make it stop calling me was a bit tricky, and when it does, the video is so choppy and, and delayed to the point where it's unusable except to ring the doorbell, which is ok by me. Also, the video quality is nowhere near what's advertised. Still, it's a good system for the price, and if you don't follow the instructions too closely, you should be fine.

Great camera. Horrible software. Hidden costs.

    Posted .

The image quality in daylight is impressive, but it's useless for many reasons. The software did not consistently detect motion. Small dogs, yes. Big cars, not always. The night-time image is grainy and limited to 25 feet. If you want continuous recording, each camera must have power (not battery), and you have to pay an additional monthly fee for *each* camera. The user interface on both the mobile app and the web is quirky, inconsistent, and not clear. Why are some settings for each camera in *three* different locations? Why are the advanced settings *not* available on the mobile app? If you want "hot spots" for events, that's an extra fee per camera, per month. I'm returning this after one day…

    6 month battery...?

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Arlo claims "up to 6 months" battery life...not even close! Bought the 2 camera Arlo Pro-2 package and out of the box, without charging, both batteries were under 50% within the first week. So...up on the ladder and took down both cameras to fully charge, however you are only able to charge ONE battery at a time since Arlo supplies only ONE charging cable with the 2 camera set. Batteries fully charged, back up they go...& 10 days later, one battery is at 3% ...the other at 30%! Video quality is good but recommend buying power cables and forget about battery power.

I went thru 2 of these. Both after a couple days of use would lose connection. Once reconnected if the camera was moved 5 feet from the base station it would lose connection immediately. Customer support is horrible. Spend your money else where!

New cams do not work. Will not update firmware & won’t work w/o update. Utterly useless. I have the older cams when Netgear took over Vuezone. System provides click box to update firmware. Shows update in progress for 3 seconds, then returns to uppdate firmware link in an endless loop. I’m done with Arlo. Tin cans & string work better. Old cameras work but the new ones are expensive paperweights. Will be returning them. Very disappointed.
