Simple enough to set up and operate. Pro 2 improvements include rechargeable battery greater quality picture and siren. Not perfect but does the job.

The Arlo pro 2 is a good camera but not great. The night vision is not as good as it could be. The is a lag during playback. Keep in mind I am a novice DYI person. I have Three pro 2's and will be buying a fourth.

I have 4 Arlo Pro cameras. needed to add one more, so I looked at the Pro2. I read a few other reviews that said the night vision was bad, but I I dismissed those as improper installs or something, and went ahead and bought one. HUGE MISTAKE. I can also confirm the Pro2 Night Vision is extremely poor. Do NOT buy a Pro2 !!! You can see the huge difference in the photo. Top is Pro2, bottom is Pro. Day pictures are fine, as are night pictures if there is enough light. (like you turn on a yard light, or a sensor light trips on)

This is the 5th and 6th camera we have added to our security. The app is easy to access and we love the no wires from the base to the cameras. Would suggest to anyone that needs a great audio visual camera security system!!

I have many Arlo wireless cameras. Standard, Pro and Pro 2. The Pro 2 is a nice upgrade over the Pro with a few enhancements including 1080 resolution and continuous recording when plugged into wall power. I have also noticed that the Pro will stay off-line for days after a prolonged power or network outage whereas the Pro 2 does not have that same problem. Battery life completely depends on frequency of use and length of recordings. I typically get 3-4 months unless a camera is in a high traffic zone or viewed “live” a lot. I have also had good luck with the solar panel accessory. It won’t charge below freezing, but above 32° and with decent sun, my cameras keep topped off. I have also found that the black silicone skin will allow my camera to charge on sunny days when the air is colder as long as my camera is in the sun. It warms up enough to charge even on 20 degree days...but the silicone skin will cause night vision issues on a Pro 2 unless you cut the hood off. Even without the hood, the skin helps keep ice off the battery door, so there are two advantages to the skins as long as you cut the hood off. If you can use a powered camera, then your should do that. If not, I like theses Arlo Pro 2 cameras for their flexibility. I even use them when I’m doing projects around the house and need to see something that is out of my line of sight. I just place a camera there and watch it on my phone or iPad. Great for verifying I flipped the right breaker or to watch the other end of the wire I’m pulling through a conduit....or checking a mouse trap that is out of sight! Many uses.

I purchased the 4 cameras with the hub. They have a great image, easy to setup and free 7 day cloud recording for 5 cameras. I added another camera at 220.00 which is steep. The software is intuitive and has most of the features of pro systems. My only gripe which kept my rating at 4 stars versus 5 is the live viewing takes a few seconds to view the feed which seems like eternity. I realize it goes through there servers but the time could be reduced. Batteries for my system will last about 3 months. I am pleased overall and recommend this system especially for the batteries allowing freedom of placement.

I already own 2 of these cameras for about a year and they work great. The battery life depends on where you have them mounted. My driveway camera last about 1.5 months and gets a lot of traffic. My back yard lasts about 3 months. Overall great image and easy to setup.

I already have 3 Arlo's cameras, but they are the Arlo Pro models. When I first connected the Arlo Pro 2, I was amazed how much better the picture quality was. I was a bit apprehensive about the reviews since the major 'con' was the battery life. However, with my setup, the Arlo Pro 2 is connected to the Arlo solar panel. The battery is just fine, and has not been below 90%. I would say this when deciding between the Pro and the Pro 2. If you are covering an area "near" the camera, so maybe 10 ft out, the Pro is perfectly fine. You can tell who the person is without issue, and the picture is nice. If you are covering an area a bit further out and want to see details, you need the Pro 2. The Pro 2 will not give you the ability to see a face clearly 100 ft away, so don't think that. However, if you want to monitor an area 25-30 ft away with a decent amount of detail, then you are going to want the Pro 2. If you want to monitor an area further out than 25-30 ft, then I would strongly suggest adding another camera or moving the physical location of the camera.

I weighed my decision carefully with some of the other reviews. As you have quite possibly read, a few people are not getting great results with night vision mode. I can assure you, night vision (in my case) has been great! The camera, like all other Arlo cams, synced up rather quickly. I am a HUGE fan of everything they've been doing. I would absolutely recommend this camera.

This was actually a gift from my son. It is an add on camera, which makes 3. We purchased our first camera with the base about 8-9 months ago and have had no issues with any of them. What I like most about the Arlo cameras is they are wireless. They are easy to set up, clear pictures and you can check your cameras from anywhere you can get a signal on your mobile phone, tablet or a computer. I would definitely suggest the 1080p. We originally purchased the 720, but, returned them. The pictures were not as clear.

I have five Arlo Pro cameras around my my house. I cannot compare since this is the only security camera brand I have used. But I am quite satisfied with the cameras- they are easy to set up and use and have good image quality. I especially like the free access on my smart phone - I can see what is going on in real time and the "library" keeps motion images for a limited time. Only turns on with movement so the battery lasts a reasonable time and is easy to swap out with a spare and recharged.

    Worse than Arlo Pro

I am unfortunately very unimpressed with the Arlo Pro 2. I was excited to upgrade a few cameras to 1080 but now I have to take them back. The Night Vision is so poor, it is an unusable picture. I can't say enough how disappointing this is, they must have either made a bad batch or didn't test their product correctly. I have attached 2 photos, Arlo Pro 2 vs Arlo Pro Original, you can see the difference.

I started with the Arlo Pro and just upgraded one of the cameras to the 2. Definitely a noticeable difference in the resolution. Also, early on it appears that the battery life is slightly greater than the original.

I added this camera to 3 others in my house (outside). Great resolution and app for phone which is rich in features. App sensitivity can be set to alert me to people, animals (I have been alerted to squirrels and rabbits) or sounds. Battery operated so do not need to have wires (which is why I purchased the units). Highly recommend Arlo. Yes, they are more expensive than other units but you get what you pay for. Only annoyance is that you have to take down camera to charge or replace battery and re-position. Battery usage depends on number of recording sessions triggered by user sensitivity and other settings. I will probable purchase additional cameras. I also purchased an additional battery but should have purchase the recharging unit as can't recharge the lone extra battery without a camera or recharging unit. Best buy gave me a price comparison price so very happy. I previously purchased the Arlo-1 but quickly returned it as the batteries needed to be replaced and not recharged - Get the Pro 2 - worth the extra cost and convenience. Also works with Alexa Show/Spot ("Alexa, show me the front door"). Very cool!

I love these little easy-to-use cameras. I am not tech-savvy at all, but these were incredibly simple and work great. So far the only issue is the cat burglar that lives next door will sometimes set off the cameras, but the resolution, even at night, is really good.

    Great camera for monitoring

This is a very well built wireless camera for monitoring inside and outside of your home. Easy to set up, easy to relocate and move around. Works well in light, low light and night up to about 20'. The only downside that I have experienced is battery life. IF you place the camera in an area that has low to moderate activity like your basement, you may get a month of battery life from the unit. IF you place the camera in an area like your Livingroom, kitchen, or other common area, you will be replacing or charging the battery almost every 3-4 days. So placement and monitoring will have to be researched very well or take some time and move the camera around to figure out the best location through trial and error. So make sure you place the camera unit in a position that is easily accessible to clean and change the battery if you do place it in a high traffic common area.

Picture quality is very good. Audio features are fair to good. Batteries last a long time. Geofencing feature is a great concept but should not 'arm' when another member of the household remains at home. It should remain unarmed in that situation.
