Although this is sold as an indoor camera, I have it set up on a high windowsill pointing out to view my front porch and driveway. It's very easy to set up and to configure. I bought a USB extension cable so I could run the cable alongside the window frame to an outlet. The night vision works well when my outside garage lights are on. However, when the timer shuts them off, the camera's own reflection in the window messes up the view. Since it wasn't designed for this kind of operation, I really can't complain. The 7-day free storage function is a great plus. You can delete one shot or delete all in bulk. I would definitely recommend this camera.

I really like this camera and the accompanying system. It doesn't require paying a monthly cloud storage fee just to see videos of any movement in the home. I abandoned my other camera because it did. So far it's working great.

Upgraded from regular Arlo due to battery consumption and wanted the new Arlo Q's 2 way audio capabilities. Pros: Love that don't have to change batteries anymore. Very good picture. Cons: Wiring ruins the "clean look". 2 way audio doesn't always work and volume way too low. Pricey. Overall somewhat satisfied with the Q just because no longer have to keep changing batteries but miss the clean install of the previous Arlos. If the 2 way audio worked better (volume and less failure to connect) if would deserve 4 stars.

We bought the Arlo Q to keep an eye on our house while we are away. It also allows us to know when our boys arrive home from school. It was very easy to set-up and connect to our wifi. The App was easy to navigate on our iPhones. The Arlo Q has a wide angle range and the HD quality is excellent. Our iPhones get a text message and email each time the camera detects motion or sound. It is not overly sensitive to start and can be adjusted so that your cat doesn't set it off. The 15 second video it sends you is enough for a parent to feel good about their kids arriving home safe. This has been a great start for a home monitoring solution.

These cameras are perfect for monitoring areas for both sight and sound. You can even talk through the camera. The night vision is superb 1080p and is crystal clear. The cameras come equipped to be either mounted with included screws, magnetically attached, or just placed on a smooth surface. After setting up a free account, you can have information recorded review, or even download it. I use my smartphone to monitor in real time, and it works perfect. I've bought several of these and we love them.

We are really happy with this purchase because it is the one camera that we could find that picks up movement through a window. Having the camera inside to monitor outside allows for a better WiFi connection, no worry about a battery since it is plugged in, and no exposure to outside extreme temperatures that might effect camera performance. There is also no membership fees, like the Canary cameras, and has Cloud storage. You can set the length of the recording to a specific time or until the movement stops, and of course, there are phone alerts. There are several different Arlo cameras, so it is the Arlo Q that will record through a window. Very satisfied with this purchase.

Purchased this for our interior area of our house. Video quality is good and one can even talk through camera. Arlo includes 7 day storage but can upgrade. Comes with a stand or can be mounted. Great solid quality and product works as intended.

Gets the job done for taking videos in my living room area. The lens is wide enough to cover a 18' x 15' area. Infrared camera works well at night as long as all the lights are off. One of the free benefits of owning this security camera is the 7 day storage that comes for free, well done NETGEAR! Giving it a 4 star because of the microphone in the app when you want to use it as an intercom. You need to hold the icon on the app to speak. I know it can be easily fixed with a firmware update, just waiting patiently ;)

Bought this as a baby monitor and later in house security camera. Might have looked at others but already had arlo cameras so this was best option to add on to existing system. Pic quality is great and setup is super easy. Worst complaint is lag but i think thats pretty common with most cameras other complaint is price. There are other cheaper options for camera but if you already have arlo system its worth it to just keep all the same system.

This camera does everything it says it will do. As far as the HD Video - it does look pretty decent. I'm not well versed in the CCTV world but compared to HDTV, it doesn't really seem like 1080p quality. Again, this could be totally normal when dealing with CCTV, I'm just not well versed enough to make that determination. Overall the unit works well a day or two after installation. It takes awhile to "settle in" to the network and is a little glitchy at the beginning. I would give it a day or two if you are experiencing any hiccups.

This is good and smart camera ,ít can detect sound and motion ,able to setup 3 different area motion detect ,video and sound more clear ,no more worry battery .

The camera picture quality was great. Very responsive to motion and worked excellent in the dark. The downside was that it kept dropping off the network despite reasonable distance from router, and the camera is very expensive relative to other options on the market that have comparable capabilities.

Quality picture. Very easy to install. Now I can very easily monitor my property through my iPhone. I highly recommend this product. The Arlo line of products is top notch!

I've researched several cameras and it was between this one and Nest in the end. What did it for me was the free 7-day cloud storage of motion detected videos. That's really all I needed. I think it's overkill to have it record 24/7, unless you live in a highly traffic area and get a lot of unknown visitors. I live in a suburb and I don't get many visitors. Mainly peace of mind. I do get some glitches here and there, having to reset the camera, but overall I am very pleased. The video quality is on par with you might get with Nest, up to 1080p. You can have motion zones to target specific areas, an example of this is to exclude a street so you don't get false alerts on cars passing by. I do get false alerts at night though when cars lights' shine across my porch. If you plan on using this behind a window, the night vision won't work because all you'll see is a infrared reflection on your video. All in all, it does the basic stuff I need. View live video remotely, save the motion videos. Waiting on Smartthings support, which I've heard they will have it later this year, but overall happy with this purchase!

Mostly bought this to watch my cats. It is set up in my living room. The wide angle let’s me see most of the room. Night camera lets me see their eyes glow. I can enlarge the view to see individual cats. I can hear them and speak to them anywhere in the world it is a comfort to check in on them via arlo app. Easy to set up, easy to use.

Great camera! One of the best cameras in market. Everything in review was accurate. True HD clear picture. Great Day and Night vision. Motion detection works for both video and audio. The App allows to adjust settings. Free 7 Day Video storage and review. App lets you download saved video to phone, PC, etc. Plus, you can speak through camera with 2way audio! Awesome.

From design and hardware point it is great and I like it much more then other cameras on market. But I wish netgear could provide better service and software for money it cost. I use it as baby/kids monitor and lots of time it timeout when I watch real time or I cannot connect to camera at all. Need to restart camera or change it resolution in settings to connect. Also using flash in browser in current days .....

Great image quality at 1080p, easy setup, and reliable operation with minimal fuss. The device is already paying for itself. The geofencing feature is great, my camera automatically goes into 'armed' mode when I'm away from the house. Also 7 days of free cloud video storage is great compared to the competitors that charge monthly/yearly.

I have purchased a total of 14 Netgear cameras (combination of Arlo Pro and Arlo Q). The Arlo Q goes well with the Arlo Pro even though it won't let you add it to the Arlo Pro base. You can still see all the cameras using the Netgear app so they appear to be together in one system. The Arlo Q is basically for indoor use and since it plugs in, you don't need to worry about recharging any batteries. You can adjust the record time so that it will record for as long as it is seeing motion. The video is very clear and gives you a fairly wide view. Audio works fine too and you can talk to someone through the camera if you need to do so. Setup is very easy and uses the bar code generated by the app on your phone or tablet to connect and set up. It has a magnetic base that will stick to metal or a mounting bracket for the wall. The only thing I noticed is they want you to put 4 holes in your wall to hold the camera. This is probably an overkill. I assume only a couple screws would be enough. The power cord is very long which allows you to mount it on top of a bookcase or something fairly tall. Overall I'm very pleased with all my Arlo cameras and their performance.
