Take elements from Grumpy Old Men, Die Hard, The Abyss and Asteroid to get a feeling for this film. A bunch of older, non-astronaut guys are recruited to help save the Earth by drilling a hole in a huge asteroid so the bomb can split the rock in two (instead of just creating a lot of smaller yet still deadly chunks). You get adventure, danger, and laughs as the unique personalities express themselves. If you like Bonus Features, you'll be disappointed as this film has only its own trailers and a music video. I'm limiting my review to 4 stars because of this dearth.

THEY RECRUIT HARRY (BRUCE WILLIS) ONE OF THE BEST OIL DRILLERS IN THE US AND HIS CREW TO TRAIN FOR A MISSION OF A LIFETIME. CO-STARING BEN AFFLECK AS (AJ) HIS DAUGHTERS BOYFRIEND WHOM HE BICKERS WITH MOST OF THE MOVIE. OVER ALL GREAT ACTORS AND GREAT ACTION!!

Armageddon is pure junk food. The cast is earnest and heroic, but the plot is mad fanasty. But it was my well driller father's favorite movie because, well, no one makes movies about well drillers saving the world.

Okay, Earth is endangered by a meteorite and we have 18 days to destroy it before it destroys us. Sending a team of trained astronauts together with competent scientists makes sense But noooo. This movie sends a bunch from an oil rig with no experience flying or landing a space shuttle. Of course, trained and ready to go in less than 18 days. Someone actually paid to make this garbage.

Armageddon is not the first movie to do stop the asteroid from crashing into the Earth. That was Meteor in the late seventies with Sean Connery. That one fired missiles at the asteroid. Armageddon flies the space shuttle up to the asteroid and plants a nuclear device on it where Bruce Willis gets to save the world.

I'm super bummed when I find out my old copy of this movie won't play in my DVD player any more I toss it in the trash. I go to best buy.com, find this and I have it shipped. It gets here, I watch it and its just as awesome as I remember. And me be I'll do a better job not scratching this one up,

I don't know why but I love this movie. I've watched it atleast once a month since it came out on dvd oh so many years ago. I had it on regular dvd and decided to get it on bluray. The enhancement is very clear to me or my old dvd was just worn out because bluray displays much better.

They don't em like this any more. Epic cast, lots of fun 90's humor and masculine energy and the score is epic. Great transfer on Blu-ray. I would recommend picking this up as Disney sadly won't be releasing this on a 4K disc any time soon since they are pushing for streaming.

Great movie with Bruce Willis and Billy Bob Thorton and the lovely Liv Tyler at 20. She was a beaty at that age and still nice to look at now. Plot was good and acting was awesome which includes Ben Affleck.

I've been procrastinating on getting this film of Michael Bay's only because I've been hoping that a 7.1 Audio mix would be released along with the Criterion DVD Collection bonus material would be released on the same version, but I guess not. This film is just as cool as when I saw it back in 1998! I love the film and the surround sound!

There are a lot of end of the world movies but this one is one of the better ones. Its an oldie but a goodie and the actors don't dissapoint especially Steve Buscemi. It has action and some comedy and would reccomend this to anyone that like Bruce Willis.

I think that "Armageddon" was one of the greatest action/disaster films of all-time and was also one of my favorite films of all-time. I also think that "Armageddon" had a lot of entertaining and enjoyable action, mystery, suspense and drama including a really great and amazing cast and personal storylines as well.

Cheap dvd and the person I got it for was happy, was a overall good by and will continue buying from best buy.

Really makes you think, what would happen if we had to go through this. Funny exciting and enough suspense. At the end of the day we all must come together for we don't know how long we will be here.
