My 7 year old son loves this game, and it's pretty fun for me too. We don't have a second set of controllers yet, so haven't tried the head to head, but playing against the computer is still a good time

I find this game a little boring. But my 5 year old loves it. He plays it, punches, and bounces around the living room for about 30 minutes until he is tired and turns it off. I just wish there was more to the game than just throwing punches.

The perfect game for the Nintendo Switch. It is just like Rock'em Sock'em Robots only better and more fluid action. Lets one get their aggression out after a school day or a day at the office!

ARMS is Nintendo's newest franchise and let me tell you... they did it again! Likable characters, awesome gameplay and great graphics. Little light on basic content but the multiplayer alone (split screen & online) is absolutely addicting. Its a perfect example of... one more round... till 3 am in the morning. With promised FREE new characters, levels and game modes. This game is a PERFECT match for anyone looking for a easy to play, hard to master fighting game.

ARMS is tons of fun--give the motion controls a patient try, as once they click, they're very rewarding to use! The game could be a bit content-dry for some, but Nintendo seems to be going the regular-free-update path on this one, which should bode well for its longevity. Regardless of how many new characters, stages, and modes get churned out, playing ARMS evokes the genuine joy that accompanied the games you might have played as a kid.

    Exciting New IP For Nintendo!

Let me start this off by saying that, when I saw the reveal trailer for this title, I thought it looked utterly ridiculously (in a negative way). Upon getting further information about the game through Nintendo Direct's and getting to try the game during the demo event, I absolutely fell in love with the game. It's easy to pick up, but difficult to master. There are 10 unique characters in the game, all with pros and cons to each, and there are thousands of different arm combinations to choose from once you start unlocking more arms for all the characters. There are a couple of different modes in the game. The first one is Grand Prix, which is a single player mode where you fight through 10 rounds to become the ARMS Grand Champion. Beat it on level 4 or above and you might unlock the true ending. There's a party mode for online battles, which is more for fun and just randomly matches you with others. There's also a ranked mode for the more competitive ARMS players. The different battles in party mode are 1v1 fights, 1v1v1 fights, 2v2 fights, 3vHedlok (Hedlok is a character with 6 arms), basketball (throw your opponent into the b-ball hoop), volleyball, and skillshot (whoever breaks the most targets win). This also applies to local multiplayer, LAN play, and playing with friends online. Overall I absolutely love and adore this game. It brings that magical Nintendo charm to the fighting genre, and they're promising free DLC updates with new stages and characters in the coming months after launch, so that'll keep you going for well after you've purchased the title. Definitely recommend adding this to your Switch collection!

This new IP is a winner in my book! This game is fun with friends and family! It sure is a workout if you use motion controls, which is not the only way to play. With ten playable characters and many different modes to choose from, this game is great to take with you on the go and play with others. It will sure be a great time. Also, the vibrant colors are great and fits for what nintendo was going for in a sense of a fun fighting game!

A new type of fighting game

ARMS is not your typical fighting game. Think more boxing and less street fighter. You want to time your attacks properly in this game. You want to out think your opponent. To be the best ARMS fighter requires you to think smart along with playing hard. If you're up to the challenge, this game is for you! Pros: - New type of fighting game - Characters are unique - Weapons(ARMS) are unique Cons: - Not much else more than that - Still feels like a Nintendo party game (Might not be a con for most)

Arms isn't a game I would typically play on my own. That said, with a friend, it becomes an awesome addition to the Switch library. Multiple modes including tournaments, versus and co-op. Motion controls make players at any skill level able to enjoy the fighting, while beginners can improve with the use of special skills and moves.

A fun new IP from Nintendo

When ARMS was first shown off during the Nintendo Switch announcement back in January 2017, I wasn't totally sure what to make of it, but it caught my interest - and has held onto that interest since, as we learned more about the game's gimmick, characters, and systems. The ARMS Global Testpunch sealed the deal, and I considered myself relatively well-informed when I placed my pre-order. If you're a fighting game fan who's looking for a new take on the genre, ARMS delivers with interest. Rather than the side-on view which has been standard since fighting games first surfaced, ARMS puts you behind your fighter's back. That adds to the challenge somewhat - you can reach all the way across the arena, although your punches do take time to travel - but given that it's an even field otherwise, it's not really a disadvantage. There are ten playable characters to select from to start with, each of them having three ARMS "fists" to choose among at the beginning; Nintendo has also announced that they're going to keep adding characters with free DLC/game updates moving forward, so the cast is only going to grow. While ARMS supports conventional button-based controls, the game is really designed around using the Joy-Con motion sensors, which also lets you curve your punches' flight paths. I personally find that the most enjoyable way to play ARMS, too, partly for the additional 'immersion' it brings. So in short: fun new take on the fighting game genre, a good investment now and one that's only going to get better as Nintendo expands the cast.

I had the impression that this would be like the Wii Sports boxing game. Nope. It’s much more complexed and enjoyable than just throwing punches and hoping they hit. The music is quite nice as well.

ARMS is weird. It’s very barebones and only for multiplayer TOTALLY WORTH IT I think people should read multiple reviews , not gamespot or ign, before buying or trying it for a while As most things Nintendo, it can be not what you except at all However using the motion controls and playing with the pro cont roller, there is a lot more to arms than what people said first about it Also, a lot of DLC and development is going into it, check it out

ARMS is a fighting game with a simple premise: Character's arms extend. This gives you a neat twist on the old motion controls of Wii Sports' Boxing. The game further complicates things by giving you interchangeable hands with different power and characters with their own unique abilities. All said this makes a fun fighting game, that has plenty of depth, but can be enjoyed with friends.

Arms is fun. Good graphics, good motion controls, tight gameplay. Lots of fun for local multiplay with friends. However... - Online 1v1v1 mode is aweful. It always comes down to two players ganging up on the third. - Traditional controls are nerfed and cannot be remapped just so the motion controls have a chance. - Level 7 CPU cheats to make the game harder. It's still winnable but not without tons of rage towards all the cheap moves you'll be putting up with.

Definitely an interesting twist to the fighting game genre. It forces you to get out of your seat and swing your arms for a crazy boxing/brawl-like experience. Of course the game allows for traditional button controls, but it's a lot more fun and interactive using the motion controls. I had my doubts when this game was announced but after playing the test punch, I was hooked. Great game!
