    Not reliable

We have Comcast gigabit internet. We have always rented their router, but we have never really been able to get close to gigabit speeds. We decided to go ahead and buy this router at the recommendation of the Best Buy sales guy. We wanted something that would be reliable and increase our speed. Boy was this choice a poor one. Setup was very easy, even for someone with little IT experience. Before we switched routers our speeds were 490MBPS, after we switched we are sitting at 290MBPS. The first 3 hours were interesting getting everything set up as we went through many resets to get the password to work. It continued to say wrong password, even though it was correct. After a couple resets, it finally started working. Since then, the router will loose connection frequently, and needs to be restarted. The router does not like our printer for whatever reason, it will connect, then immediately drop off. While working on work projects, I have had to restart the router many times because during the course of just a few hours, I have consistently lost connection, preventing me from saving to a separation storage drive. All this to say, I am not impressed with the performance of this router. At least with the xfinity router it never dropped off. I thought xfinitys equipment was a little slow, but apparently it much faster than this one. We will be returning it and looking at something else, or reconnecting the xfinity router.

I got really excited when I went to BestBuy and found out that this was a brand new product that wasn't released yet. Hooking this up was a huge pain, I had to contact Arris and XFinity to just hook it up. It feels incredibly light, I'm not a fan of light things, because it typically means that it was cheaply made. So, initially everything seemed ok. The speeds were great! Then my Netflix started to freeze and I wasn't able to get internet right outside of my apartment! (I have a small one bedroom apartment on ground level). If you want a decent router, go with the Netgear C7800, it does a lot better than this one will and the coverage is better

I used to have Netgear for Les than a year before it crapped out so I bought this although it’s expensive I bought the two year warranty through Best Buy so if this one dies, they replace it! No problems with this so far so good

This modem was easy to set up and activate with Comcast. Excellent throughput, no drop offs. I like that is it “future proofed” - at least for the time being. Decent mobile app.

The setup was fairly simple. The app can be difficult to navigate. Waiting my ISP to correct a problem with the lines so I cannot comment on the speed at this time.
