Great Buy at Best Buy
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This gateway performs its job very well. I only bought this advanced gateway because I plan to upgrade my internet speed above its current 300mbs - if I were not upgrading it I would get something cheaper/less advanced. Any other issues are the fault of Comcast which forced me to upgrade my equipment for some unknown reason, then wasn't ready to provision the modem for IP6 for over a week. This gateway is new/advanced, so some of my older devices would not connect via 5G, including a smart TV and Kindle that are probably 8-10 years old. Both connected to 5G on my old gateway, but this is pretty normal when upgrading electronics - older devices become incompatible.

Excellent speed!
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been using my Arris modem for a while now, and I couldn’t be happier with its performance. It delivers fast, reliable internet with minimal interruptions. The setup was quick and straightforward, and the connection remains stable, even during heavy usage. I also appreciate how sleek and compact the design is, which fits perfectly in my setup without taking up much space. Overall, the Arris modem is an excellent investment for anyone looking for a hassle-free, high-quality internet experience.

Great Gateway
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works great. I bought this to replace my Arris SBG7600AC2 (which I also love) for 1Gpbs internet and I've heard so many good things about the WiFi6 being so much better. I almost didn't buy this because I've seen so many reviews about the connection drops many times during the day. As soon as I logged into the Admin webpage (http://192.168.0.1) I could immediately see why people would misinterpret this (sort of). Under Connection -> Local IP Network ->IPv4 (and/or IPv6) you'll want to change the DHCP Lease Time. By default it is set to every one (1) hour. When the modem release and renews connected deviced you might notice a momentary hiccup in the connection. Change this to about every 7 days. There is even a "Forever" option you can choose that will never renew. Attached is image of what I recommend that you change. Again by default this was set to every 1 hour.

Does what its supposed to
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had to replace my previous lower model Arris due to it not sending out wifi anymore, so I bought this one. Ive had it for a few months and I've had no issues. It handles my 800 MBPS Wifi from xfinity with ease. Also works with Xfinity btw so no need to lease their equipment. After an outage it boots up quickly and reconnects everything. So far So good.

Poor Product
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Item was defective. Tried it for 6-7 months and the signal was never consistent or strong enough. It disconnected throughout the day which is a nuisance because I work from home and provide home schooling. My 1000sqft apt home did not receive strong signal throughout. I would not recommend this device at all. Also, they won’t give you your money back if you bought it outside of their company and of course Best Buy only gives you 14 days to return which is total crap especially for such an expensive item.

Save your money and buy another brand.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The application is useless, it has a 1 star review and the modem would not activate with breezeline. I spoke with technical support and they were not able to do it either. Save your money and buy a netgear, don't waste money on Arris.

Don't waste your money, look elsewhere for a modem
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Thing was nothing but problems from unboxing. From it not pairing with it's own app to it struggling to maintain a steam for online gaming this was the worst modem I've ever owned. And when it finally died 9 months after purchase I just went with another brand, because the thought of using the warranty to get another surfboard was not acceptable.

Good hardware bad implementation/support
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Top of the line Arris Cable Gateway, supporting 32x8 channels, DOCSIS 3.1 standard, Wi-Fi 6 with with one 2.5 Gbps port. Despite these impressive stats the LAN component has numerous problems that Arris tech support wouldn't bother to help me figure out. Issue #1, 2 of my laptops use an almost identical model Intel wireless adapter. Prior to switching out my previous model Arris gateway both of these laptops connected wirelessly fine. These 2 laptops see other neighbors networks in range just not this gateway. The workaround was to uninstall the Intel Wi-Fi driver and use a generic Microsoft driver. Arris support simply told me to contact Intel. 2nd issue is Chromecast doesn't allow me to cast anything to it via Ethernet, only wirelessly but my Wi-Fi signal in this room is poor to the gateway. The previous Arris gateway allowed me to cast via Ethernet with Chromecast. Once again Arris didn't help but referred me to Google. I should mention that I'm an A+ certified Systems Administrator, used to troubleshooting problems but this one was impossible to figure out, even after hard resetting the gateway, updating firmware on all devices. Most users that aren't too technical might not have such problems as me. I'm a power user, for the price I expect this product or support to surpass my expectations. I returned this and went with Netgear Nighthawk, everything works perfectly now, I'm through with Arris products and terrible tech support.

It's Alright.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product is okay if you don't need a phone line. The problem it will take over a year to justify this over the cost of renting one from xfinity. I used this for 9 months and then it died, took 2 weeks to get a new one, xfinity got me one out in 3 days. If you keep it as a backup it's okay, but I wouldn't rely on it anymore. The product itself worked really good, but not any better over the Xfinity one. For context I use 1 ubiquiti US-24 and 2 Ubniquiti inifi lite -8s. 22 hardwire devices and 12 wireless devices and 5 IoT devices connected.

Easy setup and reliability.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The ARRIS SURFboard Modem/Router combination has proven to be a very good device for my private network. I was introduced to the ARRIS brand of modem because of my cable company. While leasing it from them, I found it to be very reliable, with very few issues that were not externally created. Because of this positive experience with the ARRIS, it became the main reason I purchased this for my use, and decreased or eliminated various services/leasing from my cable company. (HAH! They were the creators of their own loss!) Setup of this modem/router was very simple, when it came to my own devices. No problems finding or connecting to the network for anything. Connecting to the internet was another issue, but nothing major. I tried the manual setup with my provider, but in the end I had to call them so I could setup my modem's connection. Once they entered the modem information, everything was rapidly connected to the internet. While I'm not sure of the actual range of the router, I have had no issues connecting in my home. (Most of my devices are used within a few inches to just two rooms away from the wifi signal.) I've had no connection or speed decrease issues while using the wifi for my personal devices. I have to give the ARRIS SURFboard a good recommendation, and after a month, I'm still very pleased.
