This is a replacement for my Netgear c6300 which kept dropping my wifi signal. The upgrade was worth the price. The notice in speed increase was instant. Very easy to set up and of course works seamlessly with my Xfinity service.

Replaced an end-of-life Motorola SB6120 as well as an ASUS Nighthawk router with this box. I didn't need the wireless because I use Ubiquiti long range APs. Setup was easy. This router has all the normal features of you would expect. I activated through comcast.com/activate. Doing it yourself is much easier than speaking with one of Comcast's offshore morons. You also won't have to share your connection with the rest of the neighborhood through Comcast's 'free' xfinity service that's enabled by default in their residential gateway.

    Meh

Works OK once you remove the McAffee Software off of it (you have to call Arris on their toll free number). Latency (response time) is still pretty slow. I do NOT like that Cox has access to areas on my property (the modem) that I cannot access. Arris needs to fix this so the owner can change DNS servers and have them stay changed.

I have always had DSL prior to moving to my current house so this is my first cable modem. When it was first installed it worked perfect but since I have had a number of dropped signal problems. Always used Netgear products before and wish I had another modem to try. Could be my service provider cause I am in a small town and not real sure about their service yet. Will come back and update when I know more and hopefully make it a five star review.

    Didnt work with Xfinity

Was very excited when I initially bought the modem. But during the installation process there were a lot of problems. For some reason the modem was only allowing IPV6 sites through but not IPV4. I was back and forth with Comcast and the manufacturer trying to fix the problem. Even tried looking through online forums to find similar issues. After two days I was fed up. Bought a standalone cable modem to see if that work. Within 10 minutes I had complete internet access. Bottom Line great modem just wished it would've worked.

product works great but on july 21 2017 i was surfing the web when an arris logo came up and told me to accept this software i thought i was being hijacked i could not decline. It is arris in conjunction with mcafee.I called arris and insisted i did not want this software he insisted that it could not be removed. i am still working on a solution.the modem works good but if you do not want software forced on you buy another brand.

Did not work with Optimum Online

Modem did not work with Optimum Online despite being DOCSIS compliant. Support staff at Optimum really tried to make it work, but the modem never managed to fully register on their network. In addition, modem UI is kind of outdated and slow, and also lacks ability to set up guest wifi SSIDs, which previous models have. Boot sequence is pretty slow as well - I had to complete multiple reboots while trying to make it work with Optimum support, and it took noticeably longer to boot than any modem or router I ever owned. Finally, just pinging the router internal IP while connected with an Ethernet cable was anywhere from 1 to 15ms, which is very strange, since most of the time pinging local devices over a wire should be less than 1ms. I may have had a faulty unit, but ultimately ended up staying with an older model Arris and a separate Netgear router.

    Not Working

Tried to connect to comcast/xfinity cable. Could not connect to half of the websites. The ipv4 sites only to ipv6 sites they blamed it on comcast. When I connected up the netgear it worked great. Bad tech support.
