Best Money I Ever Spent!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, let me tell you why I chose this unit. I had an Arris SB6141 and it was the only device on my network that never gave me any issues... ever. I trust Arris. They are one of the original Cable Modem manufacturers, they simply know what they are doing. I had an Apple AirPort Extreme and an Apple AirPort Express for my second floor. I was very dissatisfied with my connection rates. I would begin a download and everything would slide down the pipeline, as it's suppose to do, and then stop, hang... wait a bit... 10 seconds... 2 minutes... 30 minutes... and so on. The AirPort Express was in Bridge mode and out of nowhere it would just lose the signal to the Extreme. Even if I logged into it... just wasn't there. Unplug, reset and wait... Meanwhile I use PlayStation Vue, so I can not even watch TV while I wait. Ridiculous. Did I mention this was my second set of Apple routers? I sold the originals when I purchased the NETGEAR R7000-100NAS (Nighthawk). That unit was brilliant and fast... until it died 3 months later. So I went back to Apple, because at least they last longer. Now, I wanted a simple and clean... an all-in-one solution. No finger pointing by large corporate support centers. I also want fast Wi-Fi and most importantly... my neighborhood is a cluster... you know what... with Wi-Fi signals, so I need something that will modulate itself and shape signals around the noise. I got it! This unit rocks. I recently purchase the next model down, what's one model lower... big deal, IT IS A BIG DEAL... trust me! The SBG6900-AC is an absolute nightmare. Read the review. As for the SBG7580-AC DO NOT HESITATE - Get It! Outstanding signal strength in every room on every floor... even on my deck. 4 Apple TVs streaming Sony PlayStation Vue and still able to surf the internet without hesitation. Get It!

Great product - easy to set up
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to replace an older SB6121 modem and Netgear Router. Have Comcast. Easy to install and get working. Remember you need to call Comcast to get your modem activated. Getting speeds of around 50gbps - more than double than what I had previously. Also able to get several devices on at same time without issues. I did need to call Arris tech support to get more info on adjusting some administrator settings - wasn't critical but something I wanted to get complete. Very happy so far.

A "must have" -- very fast
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have Comcast cable. We upgraded to 150 Mbps. The previous modem could not manage over 90 so I called Arris and asked whether their modem could manage that speed. They said, "Of course it will." (They were so right!) I went to Best Buy, and they had it on the shelf. It was easy to install and easy for Comcast to activate. And it is fast! I called Arris to ask a question. They were very polite. They registered my unit and told me it was a 2-year warranty, not 90 days. I was very impressed with that as well. I highly recommend this company and unit.

Very satisfied so far
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have Comcast and replaced an old modem - Motorola SB6121. Also had a Netgear router N600. Two main issues - one was speed was at most 20 Mbps (using https://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/) and WIFI coverage in the house was bad in far corners of house (bedrooms, downstairs etc). After delaying, bought this and very happy so far. Speeds are now at least 45Mbps - often higher and WIFI coverage is great around whole house. We both have tablets and stream video etc. Set up was relatively easy but remember to call Comcast to have your new modem registered. Documentation was a little lacking but available online. Call to Arris tech support (due to lack of documentation) was very good.

decent, with room for improvement
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy setup. Good speed on the 5Ghz side, but very much lacking in the 2.5Ghz bands. I would consider my internet speeds with this gateway inconsistent at best. When it's screaming it is awesome. I've measured 250Mbps before, but have also had the speed drop to <10Mbps which is very frustrating. The "parental controls" are an absolute joke and are non-existent. Really all I want is the ability to create a schedule when devices are and aren't allowed to connect and that cannot be done with the router firmware. This is a HUGE area in need of improvement. I'm considering going back to a separate modem/router so I can have more control over my router functions as this thing is just far too limiting.

Very Fast
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Super fast cable modem & router. I got it on sale to go with my new WOW internet service. 100 MBPS tested out at 127 MBPS on installation. Only problem I had was with an incompatibility between ARRIS (not just this cable modem) and HP Printers (more than one) where you have to disable IPv6 and use with only IPv4. If you leave IPv6 enabled the HP LaserJet printer won't setup and operate and throws off a 49 error to restart. This was the case with both the ARRIS 6782 (old cable modem) and 7580 (new cable modem) and HP MFP M225 & HP MFP M227 printers. No documentation to warn you - took hours of googling and looking at HP and ARRIS support sites to figure out.

Best all in one cable modem available!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Although the ARRIS SURFboard SBG7580-AC is sold as a modem, it’s really three different products in one. First, you’ve got a blazing fast modem rated at 1.7 Gigabits. Next, you’ve got the blazing fast 1300 Mbps dual band wireless router. Finally, a Gigabit Ethernet switch for any computers that you want to hard-wire into your network. This is certainly a large modem, much more so than the compact models that are often provided by your cable provider. Equipped with 32/8 channel bonding, the ARRIS SURFboard SBG7580-AC is built with some of the best and most recent advancements in this technology. Channel bonding is a unique way of aggregating both upstream and downstream channels to deliver improved speeds. This means that there are 32 individual download channels and 8 upload channels that work cohesively to provide transfer speeds that are in fact faster than any cable ISP. So far I am very please with this product!

Q: QuestionWHy is it that I cannot choose to have this item shipped to either my store of preference or to my home?
Asked by Robert.
- A:Answer I think it may be a discontinued item. It's only in stores that say you can pick it up in 1 hour and not in a warehouse. It's been my experience that any item listed as pick up in 1 hour is on the shelf of that particular store. I bought the same modem and that's how it was listed at the store I bought it from.
