First, let me tell you why I chose this unit. I had an Arris SB6141 and it was the only device on my network that never gave me any issues... ever. I trust Arris. They are one of the original Cable Modem manufacturers, they simply know what they are doing.
I had an Apple AirPort Extreme and an Apple AirPort Express for my second floor. I was very dissatisfied with my connection rates. I would begin a download and everything would slide down the pipeline, as it's suppose to do, and then stop, hang... wait a bit... 10 seconds... 2 minutes... 30 minutes... and so on. The AirPort Express was in Bridge mode and out of nowhere it would just lose the signal to the Extreme. Even if I logged into it... just wasn't there. Unplug, reset and wait... Meanwhile I use PlayStation Vue, so I can not even watch TV while I wait. Ridiculous.
Did I mention this was my second set of Apple routers? I sold the originals when I purchased the NETGEAR R7000-100NAS (Nighthawk). That unit was brilliant and fast... until it died 3 months later. So I went back to Apple, because at least they last longer.
Now, I wanted a simple and clean... an all-in-one solution. No finger pointing by large corporate support centers. I also want fast Wi-Fi and most importantly... my neighborhood is a cluster... you know what... with Wi-Fi signals, so I need something that will modulate itself and shape signals around the noise.
I got it! This unit rocks. I recently purchase the next model down, what's one model lower... big deal, IT IS A BIG DEAL... trust me! The SBG6900-AC is an absolute nightmare. Read the review. As for the SBG7580-AC DO NOT HESITATE - Get It!
Outstanding signal strength in every room on every floor... even on my deck. 4 Apple TVs streaming Sony PlayStation Vue and still able to surf the internet without hesitation. Get It!

Best thing I've done was purchase my own router. Easy set up. I have high speed internet, 3 smart tv's, Xbox, and 3 cell phones on this router almost at all times and no delays! I love that it has 2 frequencies to prevent lag. Every review I read recommended this router and I'm glad I Did!

Although the ARRIS SURFboard SBG7580-AC is sold as a modem, it’s really three different products in one. First, you’ve got a blazing fast modem rated at 1.7 Gigabits. Next, you’ve got the blazing fast 1300 Mbps dual band wireless router. Finally, a Gigabit Ethernet switch for any computers that you want to hard-wire into your network. This is certainly a large modem, much more so than the compact models that are often provided by your cable provider.
Equipped with 32/8 channel bonding, the ARRIS SURFboard SBG7580-AC is built with some of the best and most recent advancements in this technology. Channel bonding is a unique way of aggregating both upstream and downstream channels to deliver improved speeds. This means that there are 32 individual download channels and 8 upload channels that work cohesively to provide transfer speeds that are in fact faster than any cable ISP.
So far I am very please with this product!

My cable modem/router/wi-fi box from Xfinity went bad. Tired of paying each month for it I researched and found this outstanding box. Easy install and set up. Fast download and upload speeds, much faster than before. WI-FI connections were fast and easy. Dual band on the WI-FI has my latest devices 5 GHz and my older wireless printer on 2.4 GHz. Modem is so new Arris doesn't even list it on the registration page. An email to Support with a very quick response took care of registration. Box will pay for itself and more within it's lifetime with saving on box rental from cable provider. Get one now.

I am a Comcast customer, so take this review with a grain of salt. Based on my experience with my previous cable modem (surfboard 6141), I've seen above advertised speeds. Setup I imagine like any other cable modem on other ISP's should be straight forward, assuming you have competent customer service reps helping you. These cable modems seem to be pretty reliable.

I have Comcast cable. We upgraded to 150 Mbps. The previous modem could not manage over 90 so I called Arris and asked whether their modem could manage that speed. They said, "Of course it will." (They were so right!) I went to Best Buy, and they had it on the shelf. It was easy to install and easy for Comcast to activate. And it is fast!
I called Arris to ask a question. They were very polite. They registered my unit and told me it was a 2-year warranty, not 90 days. I was very impressed with that as well.
I highly recommend this company and unit.

Bought this since my internet provider upgraded my internet speed and my old router/modem was 5 years old. I made a right choice in buying this. Signal strength is great, my router is in our living room and it can reach to the second floor where before I used to use a netgear extender. speed is reliable always +10 of my net speed. I give only a four store because of the price. Other than that a good combo.

Great Modem/Router Combo

I was looking for a Modem/Router Combo at a decent price and after reading reviews and researching I decided this is the one. I couldn't be more happy w/ my purchase. It offers blazing speeds and now I'm finally get the speed I've been paying for! It was super easy to activate and get up and running and I haven't had any issues like my previous Motorola SURFboard Cable Modem SBG6580 gave me of having to reset the Modem/Router every couple of weeks because it forgot what it was supposed to be doing. If you're looking for a fast and reliable Modem/Router Combo that you won't need to replace/upgrade for some time, I say 'give this one a shot'.

I live on a small 2 room apartment having comcast as my provider. I tried having a router and modem separately but the set up was too complicated and the wifi would drop constantly. I used have the combo system and paid comcast to rent it for many years I decided to get my own but I decided that doing it with separate router and modem didn't work for me. I also found out that system is great if you own a big house, not my case so the combo system worked for me. This arris combo hasn't dropped my wifi once in 2 months. It has been great. I haven't had reset it or anything. Overall great product and very easy to set up.

I purchased this modem because he old one couldn't handle both me an my brother streaming Netflix on the same network. I have to say that it's doing a marvelous job keeping both happy. We've had less network interruption. We even had more speed than we paid for. The only reason I gave it a four star is the fact that it's on the pricey side.

Do not get ripped off by your ISP by renting their modem router combo. Purchase your own and start saving immediately.....The second I got my Arris Surfboard modem router I immediately connected it and had it provisioned thorough Comcast. My wired and wireless speeds have increased significantly on both channels. I went with this modem over Netgear's offering due to the poor reviews and poor product support....All in all, this combo exceeds my expectations on all levels and was extremely easy to setup/configure.

Bought this to replace an older SB6121 modem and Netgear Router. Have Comcast.
Easy to install and get working. Remember you need to call Comcast to get your modem activated. Getting speeds of around 50gbps - more than double than what I had previously. Also able to get several devices on at same time without issues.
I did need to call Arris tech support to get more info on adjusting some administrator settings - wasn't critical but something I wanted to get complete. Very happy so far.

My IP provider recently increased my download speeds to 250 Mbps, but I was still only seeing 20 to 28 Mbps until I upgraded to this gateway.
Now my devices that are capable of doing 5 Ghz I see speeds of 240 Mbps and my 2.4 Ghz are in the 42 to 46 Mbps range. The improved performance overall is great, but has made me consider updating all devices to be capable of the 5 Ghz connection.
Setup was easy, even changing the network ID and password was simple.

Upgraded to 300mb/s with my ISP. Needed a new modem. This modem/router works great! I steam to my 4k LG tv in 4k. I play online games like battlefield one and rocket league. I also have 3 cell phones, alexa, and a roku connected through my 2400 sq ft home.
Everything can be on and I don't notice anything getting slower or having trouble. Have not had to reset it once since the setup and have even had the power go out. No issues.

If you are like me, who was looking to utilize the blazing fast internet speeds that modern day modems support - dont think twice. I know the price is a little on the higher side. but again you get what you pay for.
Also save those extra rental bucks every month - those will cover your cost within a year and a half. The wifi experience with the new band is just amazing.

Tried too of the line NetGear combo router--great signal throughout the house, and great speed, but it kept dropping my VPN connection. Switched to the Arris, and it was perfect. Strong signal through two-story home and across the backyard. Download speeds seem to be greatest on the iPhone, showing two IPv6 connections using 2.5 and 5ghz signals simultaneously.

Product works very well, and I haven’t had any issues over the past several months. Only reason not given 5 stars is because I wish it had a connector for me to attach additional WiFi routers.

We have Comcast and replaced an old modem - Motorola SB6121. Also had a Netgear router N600.
Two main issues - one was speed was at most 20 Mbps (using https://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/) and WIFI coverage in the house was bad in far corners of house (bedrooms, downstairs etc).
After delaying, bought this and very happy so far. Speeds are now at least 45Mbps - often higher and WIFI coverage is great around whole house. We both have tablets and stream video etc.
Set up was relatively easy but remember to call Comcast to have your new modem registered. Documentation was a little lacking but available online. Call to Arris tech support (due to lack of documentation) was very good.
