Found this at a nice price at the more stocked( for now) best buy in utica. The one in port huron is just sad at how little they carry and very little choices.

This season of Arrow is all about Team Arrow, vs dark magic, in the form of Damien Dhark, played by the great character villain Neal McDonough. As has been the tradition of Arrow and Flash they took a comic book character and added to it, in this case giving Dhark magic power through a totem, and as a result he becomes one of the most powerful opponents for the team ever. There are also tie backs to the prior season with Malcolm now the head of the League of Assassins, resolving the Sara Lance story line (with help from Constantine), as well as the effects of the Lazarus Pit on Thea. Oliver and Felicity start out happy and content with their new non-vigilante life after riding off into the sunset, but that is cut short by Dhark's attempts to take down Star City. Of course there is also the major death that is hinted at from the very first episode. I will not spoil it for those who do not know, but the show goes out of its way to make sure we know the death is permanent (which given all the back from the dead moments the show has had in its run is something). However given that it exists in a universe where The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow (and even Arrow to some extent because of the flashbacks) play with time, and the fact that the actor whose character was killed off reportedly has a contract to be a series regular across all the DC Universe shows (now presumably including Supergirl), we should see a different incarnation of the character. While I think the suspense of the reveal of the death was better than the actual execution of it, it did make for a lot of touching moments toward the end of the season. The flashbacks this season again revolve around the island, and this time the reveal of the magic totem that Dhark ends up using in the present. There are no Slade Wilson sightings this year, and one cameo from Shado, but that is it for the prior seasons flashback characters. It is an okay story, but not as strong as the prior flashback stories we have seen, and still no indication of what lead up to Oliver's rescue in season 1. For those who get the blu-rays, the show looks and sounds great again. There is still no play all option, so if you stop watching you have to find your place again. For extras there are deleted scenes for many episodes, a gag reel, part of the comic con panel discussion, the crossover Flash Episode, and a couple features on the new characters from the crossover which lead to Legends of Tomorrow's plot. There is also a short feature on the character of Damien Dhark and what they wanted to do with him in the show vs the comics. Good for what is there. Also, like with season 3, you are just paying for the blu-rays and not having to get DVDs included as well. Most people likely know where they stand on the show by now. While I do not think it is necessarily as strong as prior seasons have been, it was solid. They continue to develop characters, as well as add new ones to the mix, and while there is no big cliffhanger this season, the team is in disarray by the end, so many people will be interested to see where they take the story from here.

Arrow is gone, Green Arrow is here! This season's bad guy is Damien Darhk, who has supernatural powers! The series still has good stories without being preachy (that would start *next season*)! This season, we see the end of one Black Canary and the start of Oliver Queen as mayor.

This is my fourth purchase of Arrow, and I'm still loving it! I like how it's still dark and gritty, but not quite as much as the first season. Oliver's character has continued to grow and mature, and with the influence of his friends, be tempered into a good and just man, intent on saving his city still, just without all the wholesale killing in the first season. I like the relationship between he and Felicity. For some reason I've always thought they needed to be together. I'm also very much enjoying the flashbacks sprinkled throughout the season of Oliver's time on the island, and apparently, around the world, where he learned to be the butt kicking sharpshooter he is today. This is probably one of my favorite parts of the show, and the writers expertly tie those scenes in with what is happening in the present. Well acted, well filmed, This is one fan who will keep buying the seasons as long as he can get them.

Arrow has had a lot of bad people on the show that I swear you want harm done to. The acting is great on this show. So many characters on this show, but they all have a big part in the story. This show has a dark side to it. It's definitely darker than The Flash or DC's Legends of Tomorrow. That doesn't take away from the show, it adds that difference you want to watch. Four seasons and Oliver Queen is still battling inner demons let alone the bad people doing bad things. The special effects and fighting on this show are great. They're not indestructable, they take they're bumps, but keep on fighting. I truly can't say enough about the acting on this show. They're not just pretty faces. This show is changing and turning all of the time. I hope this show has plenty of more seasons.

    Arrow Season 4 Bluray Review

Arrow's fourth season is the weakest one yet though not terrible. The magic doesn't really work and the flashbacks really do nothing to enhance the show. Also, there is a character death that really made no sense and angered almost half of the show's fanbase to the point of giving up on the show. On the plus side, Oliver finally becomes the Green Arrow and runs for mayor of Star City, his sister joins the team as Speedy, and there are some great guest stars such as Damien Darkh and Vixen. The picture and sound quality of the bluray aren't that great but it does have some good features such as documentaries and deleted scenes. I would recommend this box set, but I wouldn't recommend paying more than $15 for it.

I have enjoyed the previous seasons of Arrow but am starting to scratch my head with it now. I'm only half way thru this season but I kind of feel like some of it is really becoming a little "hokey". I get its a comic book show but come on, bringing back Canary after she's been in the grave for over a year? Plus the editing last season with Oliver getting stabbed by Ra's dead center of the chest and then they follow up with it being in his lower abdomen was just horrible!! This might be my last season but I'll see how the rest of it turns out. Plus anyone else feel like they are making him more like Batman then Green Arrow? Doom and gloom instead of the quippy playboy he should be...

I love the Arrow seasons...however I cannot get over how annoying Felicity is this season. I get there have been hardships and whatever but her treatment of Oliver is horrible and doesn't quite make sense. She forgives Oliver for a lot of things he has done before, but now she is taking the moral high ground, one she has no right to take considering what she does. ugh I can't even with her sometimes. Other that that, lol, this season is pretty weird because of the whole Damian Darhk and mystical/magical element introduced. idk I didn't really care for that with Arrow, give me Metas in Central City but not magic in Star City lol.

The arrowverse continues as Oliver Queen comes out of retirement from being the Arrow to once again save Star City with his fellow cohorts, this time from an evil organization called H.I.V.E. lead by Damien Darhk. The story starts with a flash forward scene with Oliver leaning over a grave of someone close to him and seeking vengeance as to the person's death. We are kept in suspense through most of the season as to who is in the grave and Oliver's battle in seeking justice.

I have the series on blue ray and bought the DVD version for a relative, as a gift, who does not own blue ray player but loves the series, as well. Arrow is the start of the cw television universe that spawned other series such as the Flash and Legends of Tomorrow. Similar to Smallville, there should be several more seasons of Arrow to watch, as the creative minds behind the show continue to execute its rendition of the series to its fullest potential.
