Great covers of great songs

As my title says I love the covers of these classic McCartney songs! Even artists I haven't heard of before or don't care for much did some really great versions of Sir Paul's tunes. The highlights being Smokey Robinson's version of "So Bad" and Brian Wilson's version of "Wanderlust (both of these being familiar to anyone who has seen "Give My Regards to Broad Street")." Wings and Beatles fans should recognize 90% of these songs! I was also introduced to some Sir Paul songs by the wonderful versions on here (i.e. Alice Cooper's version of "Smile Away" and BB King's version of "On the Way"). All in all a great package of songs by some fantastic artists!
My only complaint was Billy Joel's version of "Maybe I'm Amazed (I'm a Billy Joel fan but hate when he does that gruff voice when singing cover songs- ruins the songs)" but his version of "Live and Let Die" was very good.

Billy Joel was the last artist to perform at Shea Stadium and he closed the show with two songs with Paul McCartney duetting on "I Saw Her Standing There" and "Let It Be." Here he opens up the record with his take on "Maybe I'm Amazed" and sings "Live and Let Die," two monster hits for Paul McCartney solo. Joel has the vocal chops to take on these masterpieces. Bob Dylan not known for covering Beatles songs sings an early Beatles classic off of "A Hard Day's Night:,"Things We Said Today". I love The Cure's take on "Hello Goodbye with special guest James McCartney. On and on it is a wonderful collection of some of the magic Paul McCartney has been bringing us for the past 50 years sung by an eclectic group of artists. Buy it. You will love it if you love McCartney.

Too many great artists to pass up. Some of the tracks are dead on, and others put a unique spin on some classic tunes by one of pop's most successful and prolific artists.

What a great tribute to the unebding talent and art of Paul McCartney. The interpretation and delivery of Paul's music by a myriad of artists make the listener even more aware of what a legend he is. He is timeless!

When you collect stuff by an artist, you've got to get everything. I've heard this is pretty poor but had to get it anyway. It's still sealed. A Best Buy exclusive!
I'm getting tired of certain artists putting out exclusives at this store or the other so you buy them all for mostly the same material. If you want to do extra's, just do a super deluxe version you can sell everywhere...

Musical legends sing McCartney!

First of all, this CD does not contain any performances by Sir Paul. Instead, his songs are performed by an A list of musical legends. ranging from Billy Joel to Alice Cooper. These artists are mostly backed by members of McCartney's band, so there aren't any unusual interpretations of the material. But you probably would buy this album for the performers themselves, so this is a plus to me.
The best of these 36 tracks? For me, it's Brian Wilson's gorgeous "Wanderlust", followed by Willie Nelson's spare 'Yesterday".
But I found all tracks to be worth listening to, and I think you will too.

Great remakes of great music

I love this album no doubt, and I love that the remakes are not so obscure that they don't sound the originals. Some may be too right on the nose, but they are still enjoyable. my only caveat would be that there should have been more artists doing these songs. There are too many times when the same artist does 2, or even 3, songs when those extras could have been given to a wider variety of artists.

Not worth the money. Only a couple of songs were worth more than one listen. If you have the McCartney versions of these songs, you are better of listening to those.
