Customers are delighted by Assassin's Creed Odyssey's engaging gameplay, compelling story, and expansive open world. Many praise the game's large map size and the immersive setting of Ancient Greece, while also noting a significant amount of content. Although some players mentioned challenges with bugs, difficulty, controls, and the leveling system, the positive feedback on the core gameplay elements outweighs these concerns.

Really awesome graphics. I've played all ac games...with everything after the Ezio series feeling so underwhelming. I gave this one a try since it was on sale for 15. I do not regret it. Lots of improvements over Origins. People have said that it feels grindy, but I find myself fully capable of increasing levels without doing every single fetch type quest. The story is decent. Kassandra is very likeable just like Ezio was. The naval battles have improved, and I don't feel them cumbersome like I did in black flag. My only pet peeve is that the modern storyline is kind of garbage. It has become very convoluted and doesn't seem to make sense anymore. I found the modern day stuff to be unnecessary, and I just wanted to jump back into the old storyline.

If you're getting this for the Assassin's Creed storyline - don't. If you're getting this for a fun game to play - then go for it. I'm not a hardcore fan of the Creed games; I played the OG ones, and enjoyed them, but lost interest in the series until now.
The game is glitchy, yes, and the loading screens (during fast travel, and after dying, and loading your game) can be slow, but honestly the glitches aren't bad enough to keep me from enjoying the game.
The combat is smooth and enjoyable (the Spartan kick is especially fun to do - I like Spartan kicking bad guys off their ships), and you can climb just about everything.
Also, the Greek island setting is quite lovely and colorful, and Greek history is very interesting to learn about.
So, over all, as a stand alone game, it's fun to play and Alexios is a precious snowflake that I've unitnentionally turned in to a bit of a playboy. As an Assassin's Creed game, it doesn't seem to really relate to the other games much at all, but that means that you can play it even if you haven't been following the series.

One of the first things about this game is the graphics. It's beautiful. If you run it on the XBox One X, take some time to look up your TV's specs to dial the visual settings in just right when you first set up the game. It's worth it. The story is engaging, especially if you're already into ancient Greek history. The map is MASSIVE. The skill tree is nothing special, but it is useful for adapting gameplay to your play style. If you're not super into grinding and just want to get through the story, this installment is probably not a great pick. There is a lot of level grinding just to get through the main story. Ubisoft has options to purchase additional time savers, which can make things like crafting and leveling faster and easier. That sort of adds a pay-to-win element to the game, though. I know some people aren't fans of that model, but it really doesn't detract from the rest of the gameplay if you're able to pick it it back up from time to time and grind it out. All in all, this is a really fun game to play that looks great and stays true to the last installment.

I’ve been playing assassin’s creed franchise since assassin’s creed 2 and I gotta say this has got to be one of my favorites among the series. The world is huge and breath taking and the gameplay is the most refined it’s ever been. Would recommend to new comers and long time veterans of the series.

Bought this as a Christmas gift for my girlfriend's stepdad since he's a big AC fan. The developers have added so much more to this franchise and built on the greatness from before. If you're looking for a new innovative game with plenty of action and adventure, pick this up!

Great game so far with a huge open world. It may be slightly to much RPG style for me. Certain things like outfits we're better in Origins to me. But overall the game looks great, Some parts feel like your grinding to level up which brings me to my only issue the XP boosters. They sale them in game. Yes you can play it without them but I feel they should've just been integrated into the gameplay from the start. It plays like the last one and has a huge amount of content I'm 50 hours in and haven't finished it yet.

Don’t understand some of the hate the game gets, it was a really fun playthrough and the map is huge. It may not have some of those og ac elements but it’s still a really good game, story was entertaining and there is so much to do in the world

AC: Origins, but Bigger

Assassin's Creed Odyssey is really similar to the previously entry, Origins, a game I enjoyed but started to get tired of as the endgame grind kicked in. Odyssey is the same, but larger.
The graphics are incredible, I enjoyed the addition of dialogue trees and the mercenary system is cool. The level grinding (present in Origins) is not, and restricts movement on the map. I would have enjoyed a leveling system that wasn't as harsh (enemies just two levels above you are absurdly difficult).

This is a MASSIVE open world game, with tons of content that will keep you engaged for several dozen hours at the very least. The parkour elements allowing you to scale almost any surface are a joy to play, and for those who like to overload their quest log, this is a great choice. Mission variety gets a tad repetitive, and the world itself doesn't seem as "alive" as Skyrim (or RDR2, which is one of the only things I like better about the cowboy simulator), but it's still a blast to play.

Great game I love the combat and how big the map is. The naval combat is a fun aspect especially with you being able to customize the appearance of your character and ship. Lots of stuff to do in this game and you will loose track of time.

This game is an excellent installment in the series, and improved greatly on the last game. The only complaint I have is the leveling system which calls for some extreme grinding, and being unable to assassinate anyone regardless of level is mildy obnoxious. Otherwise excellent

I’ve played almost every AC game in the series and this is by far my favorite AC game. The world is amazing and is incredibly detailed. Yes the rinse/repeat side quests and the game runs longer than it needs to, but the game is so fun to go exploring and leveling up.

I've been playing the AC series since the beginning. Some are better than others, and this entry is one of the better games. At times, it can be overwhelming with the amount of things to do, like the leveling system, but overall, it is a fun, open-world RPG.

I loved AC:1-3 and wasn't a huge fan of much after. When Origins came out last year, it rebooted the game in a way that made me love it all over again. I would compare this to Skyrim on how awesome this plays and how open it is. Great storyline, must play.

It’s easy to get caught up playing the side missions more than the campaign. The open world factor seems endless at times. Fun game to play and worth the money, although it was similar to Assassins Creed: Origins.

I've played each and every Assassin's Creed since 2007 and, while the series has had ups and downs, I always found them fun and intriguing. Fortunately, Odyssey is a worthwhile entry that shares a lot with last year's Origins and ramps up the rpg elements. It's by far the biggest game in the series in terms of map size, gameplay elements, and time investment, and because of that, it offers an incredible amount of value.

This game really surprised me. After playing AC:Origins, I thought that this game would be very similar, but it's differentiates itself with an amazing Greek setting, deep RPG elements, and an engrossing story with a satisfying ending.

This AC game, for me, was exactly what I was looking for. The setting is unlike any other AC game, and I found it very refreshing. The story was intriguing and I want to finish this game to know what happens.
