I bought the Gold Steelbook Edition because I was excited about the "radical reinvention" of Assassin's Creed and the beautiful Egyptian setting. No doubt Ancient Egypt is one of the most gorgeous environments I've seen in a game, but the reinvention is basically just a more simplistic version of the Witcher 3. This I found is actually a good thing. The Witcher 3's sidequests could be very engaging, but often dragged way too long to the point of tedium. AC Origins sidequests take no longer than 20 minutes, and also provided higher level gains than the Witcher's did. AC Origins gameplay is repetitive but fun - combat is a hybrid of Witcher 3 and Dark Souls. It's somewhat weightless but Bayek is pretty acrobatic and has some fun moves. What's interesting is for a series that was originally based on stealth, you can ignore stealth almost entirely and brute force your way through the whole game, especially at lower difficulties. The storyline is a bit disjointed, but I'm enjoying it so far and it has some strong individual scenes. Bayek and Aya are enjoyable to play and watch interact. Overall, a very fun purchase if you want to casually plow your way through an open world game and explore a wonderful setting.

This is my new favorite game and have about 12 hours of game time so far but I've only scratched the surface since the world is huge and there are so many things to do. The graphics and artwork are just beautiful to look at and the world is alive with people and animals. The controls and animation are smooth with the music and sounds equally excellent. I have a XBOX One X but not a 4k TV and can only imagine how awesome it would look when I finally do get one. There are some minor RPG elements to enhance abilities and weapons like the Far Cry series but it doesn't bog the gameplay down in any way and are easy to use. The steelbook case is very nicely made but doesn't include any extra goodies like ancient maps which would have been a nice touch. This is a game made to be played over a long period of time in order to take in all the sights and wonders of ancient Egypt. The Gold Edition with the season pass is a bit expensive but I think it is worth it if you can get it on sale and with a Gamer's Unlocked membership. It's truly a great game worthy of anyone's collection.

After a hiatus, assassin's creed is back in a whole new way! They completely redesigned combat from the ground up, so it's no more standing still and tapping a party button to victory. Enemies have levels, along with your character bayek, stopping you from just romping all over the game. They added a new Lee system that's more Diablo/world of Warcraft style that kind of dictates how powerful you are, but gives you a fun purpose to explore and loot and craft. I love the addition of different outfits for bayek that have no stats, so you can feel free look how you want! They even added mounts! There are microtransaction loot boxes, but I haven't felt compelled to have to buy any yet. Of course in the end, this us still a ubisoft game, so it's got it's fair share of clipping, and funny glitches. Over all, I definitely recommend this game!

They really went all out this time improved graphics and game play. having it set an Egypt is cool. the fighting controls have changed from the previous versions as im big fan and have played the whole series. overall recommend this to all players

amazing addition to the series and well worth the hiatus ac origins has amazing graphics and controls. i love the new weapons system and the huge open world i get lost in side quest for hours just leveling up and see whats out there keeps me entertained so thats saying a something

Incredible map, awesome storyline, horrible fighting. This fighting has no grace and smoothness the way the others did. It’s choppy and the executions are repetitive. The setting is wonderful and the detais show how historical research has been done. Although I bought the Gold, I was not given what would have come in the Deluxe Pack and Ubisoft still charges a ton of Helix credits to have some of the coolest stuff. They’ve gotten too greedy and lazy with some things and did a grrat job on others.

AC Origins is simply stunning in 4K HDR. Best storyline and gameplay of the franchise.

This is a beautiful game - the graphics and scenery are top notch. If you've played one of the previous AC games, you already know what you're getting into as far as combat/exploring with some minor tweaks, for the better of course. Loving it, and will keep trucking along in it.

This game is a total game changer, espeacially on the combat system very different compare to the other AC games but not a fan of how you are to upgrade your weapons if a enemy is level 5 and your level 2 you willl be up for a major challenge but die thou unless you buy from a loot crate system but over all its good

I love the whole Assassin's Creed series but this game is very fun. Your allowed to hunt, find metals and dismantle items to upgrade your characters! Be careful multiple enemies will attack at once and done might stay back with bows. Remember to block it comes in very usefully. The steel case is beautiful !

I had stepped away from the AC series for a few years, but this one looked too good to ignore. It's a great refresh to the series - an interesting story, a fantastic setting, and new gameplay changes that encourage you to explore. Well worth the price of admission.

Always been a fan of the series. This one in particular is probably one of their better ones yet. Game is graphically stunning especially if you play it on 4k resolution. Map size is very large and total open world once you complete the first mission.

I'm near the middle of the campaign and i can tell this is one of the bettter AC made. The graphics are atunning (can't wait to play on X next week) and the combat system is solid. The story is great and i have no complaints at the moment!!

I’ve been a huge AC fan since the first one came out and after AC Black flag the franchise didn’t do too hot on these games. After they took some time to develop this game you can see they clearly put a lot of effort into the story and the open world. This game is a blast! The controls have a slight learning curve compared to other AC games, but once you get it down you have a lot of options to destroy your enemies. The graphics and story are rich with detail. Be sure to buy this the game is great

Graphics on Xbox one x are fantastic! I'm glad assassins creed is back. I hope they take longer to come out with another one. It definitely helped this game out! Love it and I am having an amazing time with it!

It's a really great game. They even pulled a multiplayer element into solo play. You can "avenge" other players who have died recently in your vicinity. Story line is great as well as game play.

AC: Origins combines great gameplay, a good story of the original assassin, and a beautiful rendering of ancient Egypt. Highly recommended to those that like open world adventure games.

gameplay mechanics and story is great so far can get really lost in side quest and exploring. all around great through and through

A.C. Origins is by far my new fave assasins creed. The visuals are just amazing and the world is one of the most alive feeling I have seen in a while. The Egyptian feel drew me to this game but the combat and world are keeping me here for sure. Minus 1 star however as there is definitely still some jank and glitches that should be addressed.

It’s the next in the Assassin's Creed story...what’s not to like? Excellent game...story...historical references...graphics...it’s beautiful.
