Sound is amazing!
I play Csgo with them and I can hear everything from footsteps to people switching guns!
Very comfortable
Love the many ways u can put the volume down and up
Also putting the mic above ur head mutes it great for when family comes in the room and wants to talk
Only con is I play a lot and battery runs out to fast need a longer cord to charge just in case that happens

Overall the sound is fantastic on these headphones (and it better be given the price!) I had bought and returned two Turtle Beach headsets before these and the sound is in another league. One of the TB sets was much cheaper so that's to be expected but the second was the 500x which is a few bucks cheaper but still expensive at $200+. The Astro A50s also feel much sturdier and of a higher quality than the TBs. Some people have said that the weight of the A50's is bothersome after a while but I haven't found that at all, even after a few LONG sessions.
I was hesitant to spend this much on headphones but don't regret this purchase at all! I originally purchased these to spare my girlfriend from the constant warfare in BF4 but it makes the gameplay so much better I wear them all the time, whether she's home or not. The sound quality is excellent with 3 different audio modes. Unfortunately there's no documentation that says what each setting is but it seems to be the expected options: the first seems to skew towards the bass/lows, the second seems to provide a well-balanced sound across high/mids/lows, while the third seems to increase the highs/lows.
The A50s do a great job simulating 7.1 surround sound, and delivering all the subtle sounds (like footsteps or reloading) with very accurate positioning. I can generally distinguish between something happening in front and to the right vs behind me to my right.
Adjusting the volume skew between game & chat is quick and easy. The volume is also quite loud and I rarely have it up to full volume.
There are a few things I'm not crazy about and is why I gave it 4 vs 5 stars:
1) If you plan to use these to chat, then they are not TRULY 100% wireless like some competing headsets. For some reason there is a required wire from the controller to the headset. Since other headsets are fully wireless, it can be done and I'm not sure why Astro didn't do this. The chat controller adapter is sleek and nicely designed but the wire seems a bit flimsy.
2) No mic monitoring - this seems like something minor but is a bit annoying when you're not sure if you're accidentally still on mute while trying to talk to your squad.
3) No way to adjust the audio EQ manually so you're stuck with the 3 preset ones. I haven't found myself really wanting to tweak anything since games generally have additional audio options so between changing the game settings and the 3 presets, you can create some additional modes
4) The fit seems to have loosened a little over the few weeks I've had them, I actually like them to fit a bit snugger. I'm not crazy about the fabric on the ear cups but I've gotten used to them and they're comfortable to wear for hours on end.
5) No way to tell the remaining charge in the headsets. It'd be nice to know if/when they battery is running low before it starts to beep a few mins before it shuts off.
In the end, I don't think you'll be disappointed with the A50's. The sound is the important thing and that is top notch!

This is a great headset. You can hear so much more than just through normal speakers, and the on ear controls is nice. I have worn them for hours on end, and I never feel any stress on my ears, on my head, and I have a big head.
Cons of it is that the Mic has noise cancelation, and you have to speak normally to be heard, at times I've been told I sound like I'm speaking from a pit.
Battery life is Good. As someone who likes to use up the charge completely before charging, I end up with a power chord going to it regularly. *It is important to note, if I charged it every night or after every session this would not happen*
Difference between the A50 for Xbox and other A50's. When plugged into a computer they are completely wireless, and set up is super easy (just plug USB into computer).
The A50's for Xbox One simply come with the cable required to speak through the system. If you have one of the new controllers with the 3.5 jack, you'll need a 2.5mm to 3.5 mm to use as the plug into the headset is 2.5mm.

These things are some of the most comfortable headsets I have ever used, hands down. I have mostly used Turtle Beaches up to this point and decided to give these a try and I swear these are like pillows on your ears. The 7.1 surround sound was great and the easy to use game/chat and overall volume controls were awesome. I do wish the mic was detachable like on the A4Os's but i understand why they aren't here due to the volume controls on the right ear. Also i would've been nice to have a dedicated mute button but that is a very very insignificant gripe. The only difference I've seen between these and the XP510's I've been using is there are a lot less features and less control over the sound, IE no dedicated equalizer settings and also a lack of functional mic monitoring (which is why I am giving them more of a 4.5 than a 5). Other than that these are a great pair of gaming headsets that work with every sort of gaming platform that isn't Nintendo based.

Great headset. But it has a few issues 1 it'll shut off by itself if your not playing a game if your just sitting in chat talking to someone. Which I suppose is Bc its not getting any game sound. So it tries to save battery and shuts off. But in my opinion a $300 headset shouldn't do that. It's kind of annoying. 2 the charge cord isn't very long. So it's hard to play and charge if you play for long periods of time. The headset battery usually lasts between 6-8 hours. No complaints about sound quality though. Sounds amazing. Overall a great headset. I'd just recommend getting a longer charge cord.

Astro A50 headphones are very comfortable to wear even for extended periods of playing. The 7.1 surround is amazing, I here things I have never been able to hear in other headphones. The mic is the weak point, and boy is it a weak point. Everyone I talk to says I sound like I am an alien in a barrel. My brother in law has the same pair and he sounds the same way! Not truly wireless which to me is a big deal! I would think for $300 they would be fully wireless like other headphones. Overall they are really good headphones, they just are not GREAT headphones!

The Astro A50 are not bad I would not pay the $300. I went to BB looking for the A40's. I had the polk strikers they were good only 40 bucks on sale but I want surround sound so I ended up getting these for under $200 bucks!
Pros: they sound great & the fit is one of the best they cup around yours ears so u could wear them forever or as long as the battery lasts!
You can plug in multiple items into the hub. I plug in my cell and stream music with them..
Cons: There are a little static/pop sound here and there for a quick second

I play 10-20 hours per week and have had zero issues during the month I've owned these. They're very comfortable, surround sound is great, and the batteries have had zero issues. The microphone quality is great and I've had zero sound issues with other people in my Xbox Live party.
The only "complaint" I have with these would be the lack of voice monitoring volume control. This headset supposedly does have voice monitoring but it's so quiet that it might as well not even be listed as a feature. It took some getting used to, but I don't think I'm yelling when I've got them on.

This headset is great. I use it to game on my PS4. I happen to like the color so I picked this one. From what I understand all the A50s are the same. I downloaded the battlefield presets using past firmware that makes the sound much more balanced. If you love alot of bass you will love these even more than me. They are totally wireless, but make sure you follow the instructions on how to set them up. They will work right out of the box, but to get the correct audio you have to go to a couple particular settings in the PS4 so the Dolby Surround works. It is like night and day the difference. I am they guy who doesn't read directions and was wondering why the sound was off for the first hour of use.

I had astro in the past the A40's to be exact, however I got rid of them when the Xbox one came out. I have been using the turtle beaches xo seven they are a good headset, but the astro a50 are just so much better in every way they are more comfortable and they don't squeeze you in the ears like the turtle beaches did. I know this headset are expensive but if you are a audiophile you definite one this you won't regret it.

I got these for the soul prupose of the new games coming out this november. I used them on the Rainbow 6 beta and starwars battlefront 3 and also halo 5. These headsets deliver. Great sound. easy setup. Only thing is that i never know if the headset is low on battery. Took ahile to figure out how to raise the chat/ game volume but now that i look at it... it was actually simple. Another thing is i wish they came with a longer charging wire. Overall great headset. Small cons but Big pros

The output sound is great. Takes some fine tuning to get the sound to how you like but its an easy learning curve. When in chat or parties some tend to say the mic volume is a little low. The battery life is annoying as it will die after a day use. The charging cord it comes with is short but it will charge with the xbox one controller cable which is super nice. Overall I am please with the experience

This headset is awesome, far more comfortable than most competitors like the SteeleSeries Siberia 800. I've found that i personally cannot do leather for long periods, my head gets too hot. This headset is extremely comfortable and intuitive to use. The sound quality is fantastic. I exchanged my white pair for the black/blue PS4 pair strictly for the color scheme, but i faintly remember reading a review saying the PS4 models had a minor buzz in the right headphone where the wifi receiver is and i've experienced this as well. It's not too noticeable if you turn the headset audio down a bit and the computer audio up. Don't recall noticing this with the White/green (xbox) pair.
Anyhow, yeah, fantastic comfort, washable earpieces, solid sound, wifi range is adequate unless you start going into other rooms altogether, then sometimes you'll run into the predictable interference.
Battery is less than some competitors and for some that is a problem. For me personally i take a break after 4 hours or so of gaming, and by the time i'm ready to play again my headset has enough charge for another period of time. Works just fine for me.
TL;DR if you're looking for a wireless gaming headset, these are extremely comfortable and worth the investment.

Outstanding 7.1 Surround Sound

The new Astro A50 has the same outstanding sound quality as the previous generation. The difference is more cosmetic and the included proprietary chat connector for the Xbox One controller. The 7.1 Dolby surround sound is amazing and truly makes the gaming experience that much more immersive. I have even used the wireless headset to watch concerts on Blu Ray and they sound terrific. My only wish was that I could hear myself thru the headset while chatting with friends during a game. I had a pair of Turtle Beach headsets and I really liked that feature. However, the tradeoff was for the outstanding sound quality so I decided to go for the A50. In addition, they are extremely comfortable and even feel at touch lighter than last year’s A50. Not sure if in fact they are lighter, but for some reason, they just feel better. They are a bit steep in price but with my gift card, I decided they were worth it.

This is my second pair of Astros and I'm still amazed every time I put them on and crank them up. Excellent sound, with deep bass. Very well made, and completely satisfied with them. The only thing I would change is that I wish it had a way to tell how low the battery was when it is running down.

I came into best buy planning on buying a pair of turtle beaches when my friend who was with me told me that astros were significantly better. I didn't believe him but I took his advice and bought them instead. Best decision I have ever made! These headphones are beyond comfortable and have wonderful sound quality and they're lightweight as well I have no problem gaming for hours with no problems with comfort! It's almost like they're not even on!

It's not as easy or friendly to use as Turtle Beaches, and the rechargeable battery isn't replaceable. The headset also requires charging and updating through a PC before using. My friend currently has an echo while chatting that she can't get rid of. The game sounds and chat volume is initially confusing to balance, but becomes second nature once you get used to it. The volume is capable of going louder than your ears can handle, too.

The comfort and performance of this product justify the price. Prior to purchasing this product, I used a Turtle Beach (TB) headset; I was looking for an alternative product. While researching other products, I received strong endorsements from 2 different serious gamers. They both agreed that this product will make me forget my TB headset; they were right. The Sound is superb, and the fit is very comfortable.

I've tried a few headsets through the years and these are by far the best. I'm using them on an XBox One and in FPS games they are almost unfair. You can hear the steps of inbound players and their direction of travel before they even show up on the mini-map.
Super comfortable and I've used them for 4 hours straight and not had any battery issues.
They are expensive but definitely worth the price tag.
