The headset has amazing sound, but there is one issue. It seems to not hold a charge as long as the manufacturer states. I have made sure I am doing everything correctly as for charging the headset via the manufacturer's website. I may take them back since I bought the protection plan.

Had the gen1 a50s for a few years and loved them, never had any issues with hardware or comfort. I decided to replace them for a fresh pair of either tb or new a50s. First got the tb 800x, returned those after 10mins of play....horrible interference and very uncomfortable. So swapped for my original plan, the new a50s. After updating I had mic issues to the point I was screaming for people to hear. Contacted Astro and didn't seem I was getting anywhere so once again returned. I ended up getting and finally keeping a40 tr. wish these were my first grab. Amazing sound, chat , comfort, and even though with a50s it was barely noticeable there is no buzzing sound when no sound is playing. So if the cord is no big deal to you I recommend a40 tr's

This wireless headset is the best one I have owned. The sound is great and the earpieces are the most comfortable of all the headsets I have tried in the past. I can game for hours without my ears hurting or itching. They fit comfortably over the ears and not on the ears. The felt type ear pads are much easier to wear than ones with plastic/vinyl pads.

Had an old set of Triton headsets that were starting to die... decided to upgrade. Love the sound quality, and wireless is nice so the dog doesn't get caught on wires in the living room. I just wish there was some way to see how much battery life was left.

I'd hear such great thing about the A-50s. I was pretty disappointed when I actually used them for the first time. The sound balance is terrible. You can make the game volume louder, but doing so lowers your chat volume. You can raise your chat volume, but your game volume goes down also. There's no independent control. I had that on some old Turtle Beach DX12s. I thought for sure a headset in the $300 price range would include independent volume control. But no, instead you're constantly fiddling with the game/voice balance, and adjusting the master volume at the same time. Pretty annoying if you want to talk to friends while playing. The pre-set sound settings are a disappointment also. There's only three and they come in 1. Bass 2. Lots of bass 3. Insane amounts of bass. Never knew a video game rifle could sound like a subwoofer. Sticking with the least bassy setting is ok, I think it's called the professional setting, but I'd expected a lot more out of a $300 headset. Again here my old cheap xbox 360 headset was more user friendly. The sound quality is great. You can hear every footstep and the direction they're coming from. Above, below, left, right. If you're playing an online fps nobody will be able to sneak up on you. The battery life hasn't been an issue either. I've had a few afternoon marathons and the battery hasn't gone low yet. For the cost I'd buy something else. I'd try the A-40s or the Turtle Beach equivalent before I'd recommend the A-50s to anybody. The volume is frustrating and the presets are frustrating. There are other headsets out there that give surround sound but for less money.

The headset is very comfortable, easy to use. The reason that I put down 4 stars instead of 5 is the price, it's expensive, wish that it will be in the $200 range instead of $300.

I will say that the sound quality and usability are really good in this product. The only downfall is that the battery dies quickly. I don't like plugging the headset in while I am using it and had to do that on a number of occasions.

These headphones are the best. I've had the turtle beach and Polk. The Astro a50's are the best of the bunch! Great surround audio, great battery life, great bass and excellent build quality. I have a Bose surround system and I only game on the Astros. I hear things I've never heard before. It's like I'm in the game!

Yes, they are wireless. Yes, they do need to be recharged. Yes, that is a minor annoyance. No, you will not be disappointed. No, you will not game any other way once you try them. No, you cannot have mine! Buy your own! They are pricey, but I was able to pick mine up for nearly half the price.

This headset is awesome. Completely wireless from my Xbox. Although the headset does have a wire that runs from the headset to the controller for chat purposes. If you're not going to chat, it can be completely wireless. Has awesome sound and sounds just as good as the wired mix amp edition.

The Dolby surround sound is amazing. I can wear this set four hours and not get tired. The mic boom folds up and mutes and provides great clarity while in use. I love these headphones. It's also great for watching movies or anything else you would do on xbox if you don't want to disturb anyone.

Before purchasing the Astro A50's I used Turtle Beach Stealth 500X. The Astro A50 headsets sound quality is far superior to Turtle Beach Stealth 550x. They are best sounding headsets I have ever owned since I began using headsets back in the days of the original Xbox. Cons: The extremely short cable that attaches to my controller. Also the chat cable is very difficult to remove from the controller. If it was not for the chat cable the A50 would have easily earned 5 stars from me

Very comfortable, powerful sound. Earphones cancel out surrounding noise. Rechargeable battery life lasts long enough for several sessions of casual gaming. Nice stand included. You do have to plug in a wire from headset to controller in order to chat but to me this is not a big deal.

I have a great surround sound system so didn't have much need for headphones until I started playing multiplayer games. My first set was a Logitech 633's but the microphone monitoring didn't work and I was unable to stream sound from my phone to the headphones so I could listen to music while I gamed on my Xbox One. I got these and the build is very high quality (metal rather than plastic), the setup is easy and the actual way that the headphones work is genius. Yes these are very expensive but if you're going to get a really good set of headphones and spend more than $50 you might as well go the extra mile and get these as they will be the answer to what you are looking for, especially if, like me, you game on multiple systems (Xbox One, PS4 and PC)! And yes, the aux. line-in works great, I can finally listen to music from Spotify via my iPhone or iPad while I game on my Xbox One!

I honestly have not put these through their paces From just a quick run through the bass is crisp and in game chat is clear without affected the quality of the background sounds.

This is the best sounding headset I have tried, It makes Xbox One gaming a much better experience. I just wish you didn't need the cord for chat and then it would be perfect. They are also expensive but then again what isn't nowadays.

Amazing sound quality for both gaming and watching movies. I had to return my first pair due to a charging issue. Second pair have been great so far. The biggest issue I have is the micro usb charging port on the headset due to the need to precisely place the micro usb perfectly into a tight area without dinging the usb face or the port itself. Charges fast and lasts long. Customer support is suspect, called and the guy had no clue how to address problem or who to go through to find out. They offer blind online support, send them your gear with explanation and wait.

Purchased these as a replacement to my Astro A40s. Not that my A40s were broken or anything, I just moved them over to my PS4. The Astro headsets are wonderful in general. After long periods of gaming my head doesn't feel like it's going to pop, unlike my old Turtlebeach Deltas. Overall, I love these headsets. My only gripe would be that I wish the optical cable was like that of the A40s. The ones supplied are a thin coiled up cable.
