Not great
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Truly was hoping for an amazing controller, but it’s not. Sticks are not great as far as sensitivity and the app doesn’t really make them work well unfortunately. One stick maxed at 90% for some reason but only in 1 direction. Astro customer service is terrible - don’t bother contacting them.

Controller has cool features but breaks quickly
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the idea of replaceable joysticks and that i wouldnt have to buy a whole new controller, but when the joystick started drifting 3 weeks into ownership thats unnacceptable, i should atleast get 4 months out of a joystick under heavy use. the finishing touch for me was the right bumper losing its ability to register a press or hold, you can spam the button or hold it down it only actually responds 20% of the time, started doing this 2 weeks ago. Ive literally tried all the cleaning and calibrating you can do and is reccommend for issues with the controller. I bought this controller 7/1 and started using it about a week later due to waiting on shipping and other things, it is currently the the first of july...

Meh
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was a good controller and was very happy with it when it worked. Didn’t use it for a couple months and now it won’t turn on or take a charge. Paid way to much for it just to have die in less than a year. Now it’s just shelf decor.

Stick Drift
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Drift almost immediately after buying - now at 4 months after purchase, even if I reset the controller as advised it drifts uncontrollably downward about half way down the screen. garbage.

||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worst controller ever. Called tech support had me do a change of the sticks and fixed the issue for a little bit but went back to sticking and not being able to run in game.

it sucks
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A chain is as strong as its weakest link. This controller has a lot of weak links. I purchased TWO controllers and had to return both. The first controller had insane "stick drift" issues. I tried re-booting the controller. Astro provides how-to-instructions but it did not fix the issue. The second controller had a defective right bumper BRAND NEW out of the box. a shame, really

Do Not Waste Your Money
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I loved this thing, for the eight or so months it worked. Came back to pc gaming after a hiatus to find the controller is absolutely worthless and unfixable. For the price, you should get much more use of the controller. I cannot recommend a very undependable but very expensive controller to anybody, regardless of how well designed the controller is. None of that matters if the product fails after well under a year of use. Since my problem, i found several other people with the same issue. This is a premium priced product with no dependability whatsoever. I recommend that you save your money.

DO NOT BUY. THUMBSTICKS DRIFTING IS A NIGHTMARE
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing in theory, not so much in practice. The thumbsticks are trash- the controller works a couple of times before the drifting issues make it unplayable. Despite the fact that this is a problem customers experience it across the board, ASTRO has failed to properly address this issue. Warranty is only 6 months. If you decide to buy this overpriced paperweight, opt in for the best buy protection plan. You will definitely need it.

It’s ok
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The R2 button doesn’t read properly. It will do most functions but for example on call of duty when piloting a vehicle it will not give it any throttle.

Great until it broke
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was loving it until the analog module broke after just a few months. Now Astro is dragging their feet on replacing them. Not happy with the support from them so far

A Strong Effort, But Not an Elite Controller
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The plastic feels cheap. The joysticks don't feel planted or precise. The rumble motors are louder than necessary. Save yourself the drama, buy a Scuff.

A Gaming Controller for All Skill Levels
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am an amateur gamer, but the Astro Gaming C40 TR Controller simply must be one of the best controllers on the market for all gamers -- including professionals. From a product design point of view, every aspect of human factors seems to have been considered in designing this product. The device fits beautifully in both hands, the feel of the material and textures seem solid and conforms in a way to connect the user’s cognitive abilities with the device. It’s seems a perfect fit! The design has considered every aspect of gaming and has ergonomically placed function controls in perfect to near perfect positions. Naturally, placement of function controls has certain degrees of variances based on the use of previous controls by individuals in their past, their frequency of gaming and skill level; however, Astro has considered that too. In designing this product ASTRO has completely considered ergonomics, but they have also recognized the need to adapt to changing technology and circumstances, which makes this a Tournament Ready Design. Some of the technological factors that have been considered in designing the C40 TR include: - Using the controller either wired or wireless within a 10-meter (32+ feet) range. - Designing the product to have a 12-15-hour battery life, and - Including a 3.5MM wired audio connection. Still Astro has taken the product design much further and considered customization on several dimensions. With a free configuration software downloadable on their website, the ability to remap buttons specific to individual user’s desires can be done. This software even allows for customization of touch intensity for the various controls and it was at this site that I did upgrade the firmware on the product. Physical customization can be done with an included tool and alternate control parts which provides the ability to physically swap positions of the D-Pad and Analog Stick from short to tall sticks. Replaceable, swappable stick modules can also increase the lifespan of the controller. Rear controls are not only integrated, but remappable so that critical actions can be executed quickly without removing fingers from the control. This controller is a tournament ready design that has been developed to meet the performance and durability standards of pro gamers. To add to the product’s overall quality and professional image, the controller comes packed in a semi-hard-shell zip case for easy portability. Storage is dedicated within the case for a USB connection cord, USB wireless transmitter, tool for removing 4 screws on the D-Pad and 4 interchangeable function control parts. The Astro C40 TR Controller is awesome and fun to use and I would recommend it for any level of gaming!

Bad design thumb sticks
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The thumb sticks don’t last at all stick drift and just poor design there should be a recall on just the sticks the rest is good
