Customers consistently note the C40 TR Wireless Controller's excellent build quality, comfortable design, and extensive customization options as significant strengths. Many appreciate the responsive buttons and satisfying weight, enhancing the gaming experience. However, some users report experiencing stick drift and find the controller's price to be a significant drawback. The size of the controller has also been a point of contention for some customers.

I went through 4 of these controllers. Each one broke within 2 weeks of owning it. The company needs to get some things right before continuing to manufacture this product. The modules are the problem here. Im not sure if its the connections or the paddles on the back of the controller interfering, but the modules are the main malfunction.

A definite move up the ladder for PC gaming…

A definite move up the ladder for PC gaming… The best analogy I can offer for using this controller is when I went from “normal” PC keyboard to a mechanical keyboard. Both of the keyboards do basically the same thing, but the FEEL of the mechanical keyboard made it a pleasure to use, and every keystroke was a pleasant reminder of the difference! The higher price for the mechanical keyboard is quickly forgotten and once you get used to it, there is no going back. This controller is much the same feeling when going from “standard” controllers to one that was designed with top-notch components and a layout that was most definitely a result of input and testing from professional gamers. This is used for PC gaming, and the amount of customization available for both the handset hardware components and the gaming setup (through the accompanying software) does not leave much to desire. The unit feels solidly built, sturdy in the hands, and encourages some higher-order thinking to make use of the customization options. Standard controllers are “here it is – use it” design, this controller is “how could your game improve by customizing your controller” design. If you start wondering if your gameplay could improve by changing the location or settings of your controls – have at it! It seems like the longer I play around with technology, the more it holds true that spending a little more for good quality, workmanship, and design features pays off in the long run. Having a drawer full of old controllers that were great because they were new, but soon lost their luster has gotten old. Pretty them up with some decals and such – but they just don’t make the grade in the long run. There are lots of useful tips, tricks, and suggestions in the reviews, so please take some time to skim through them. Always a few that wanted something different, but very few that claim that there is actually something better in this price range. Personally, after using this controller for a few weeks, I don’t get that “buyer’s remorse” feeling that I have had with other gaming hardware. I think this controller is “the one” that will be in use and keep being useful for quite a while.

I loved the controller at first, it’s amazing when it works but my first one got drifting and replaced it for a new one, gave it a second chance, now the second one is doing the same thing. If you really want to try it I would strongly recommend getting protection plan. For an expensive “Pro” controller I expected more. I mostly used it with Apex Legends.

    best PS4 controller ever made

Personal Pros: - Great size, shape, and weight. Thicker than a PS4 DS4 but thinner than XB1 Controller. - Only 3rd party controller that is wireless via dongle (Scuff pretty much a DS4). Can be wired. - Can swap out left analog and dpad to have offset analogs like XB1 controller. - Back buttons are responsive and feel better than paddles. Can also be remapped on the fly. - USB port for cable is special fitted into the controller to avoid any damage or wiggling. - Kontrol Freeks fit with the 2 shorter convex analogs. Major for me. - Buttons can be programmed to be remapped. - Quick triggers Personal Cons: - $200 is a bit too much. XB1 Elite is similar pro controller that's $150. - Can't turn on PS4 with it. - Interfered with my mic with my Wireless Headset. Had both dongles plugged into both front USB ports of PS4. Will update if using back USB port will fix it. - R2 and L2 trigger buttons aren't curvly shaped as the XB1 Elite (but longer and better shaped than PS4 DS4). - As of day 1, doesn't work with PC. Even after the firmware update. For me, it only reads it as a speaker. - Controller grip/pattern isn't that great. XB1 Elite feels better.

Controller is bricked after 1-year. Won't charge, won't power on. Support from Astro is pretty bad, having difficulty get RMA processed to get this thing repaired. Bought this for my son, as I thought it was a premium device. It is not. I strongly recommend you avoid the C40.

I returned the first controller because the left thumbstick (more specifically, L3) would cause my character to stop moving almost every time I tried running. Just got the second controller about a month ago and I'm having the same issues. I would wait for the next version if this is something they decide to address.

I’ve had it for a couple of months already and not even 3 months with it the L3 & R3 button stops working. It starts moving by itself and rotate by itself. I’ve gotten new modules and not even a month later it started doing the same thing. I wouldn’t recommend this controller because of that problem.

Not worth it, it works great when everything is fine with the controller but that isn't often. It's always one thing or another with this controller. After a month or 2 of using it I went back to my original ps4 controller now it just sits there collecting dust

Controller is completely dead. Won't turn on. Won't connect to PC / PS4 / Laptop / Macbook. No light turns on. Played Fortnite for a few hours. Left PC for a bit came back to play again and it just never turned on. Returning to store immediately. FYI also had an issue with Astro A20 Wireless headset.

I returned this controller because one of the buttons did not work. I know how to set things up and I was very careful. I thought it would be heavier and sturdier; not the case. The back buttons felt like they would be awkward and accidentally get pressed a lot. So dissapoinbted.

    Huge Improvement Over Sony Controller

This controller is a huge improvement over the controller that comes with the PS4. It is not plug and play though. You have to download software onto your PC and configure the controller and wireless dongle. I also had some issues mapping the L2 button. My other issue was charging the controller, I had to charge it separately. It didn't get a good charge when plugging it into the PS4. Other than that, I like the weight and quality of the controller. Once you get past the configuration and charging, you will be happy.
