PRO -Customizable layout - You can move the thumbstick and d-pad locations to your own preference. Also means you can replace the parts that are most likely to wear out and break without needing to buy whole new controller. -Customization software is good, lets you assign two active profiles to the controller with customized button layout and sensitivity curves for both the thumbsticks and triggers -Compatible with computers, makes it more versatile -Included travel case is well protected and large enough to hold everything CON -Expensive. $200 is in the range of full custom-built controllers. -Only two rear buttons where many competitors have four. -Doesn't come with alternate d-pad cover, though the carrying case has a cutout to hold one. -Comes with six thumbsticks, but not no matching tall sticks. Two regular length concave, two regular length convex, one long concave, and on long convex. -Requires an open USB port on the PS4 to work, either for its wireless dongle or for the wired connection. Considering a PS4 only has two ports ( three on a Pro ) that may be a breaking point for someone already using an external hard drive, keyboard, or other peripheral. -Package claims 12 hour battery life, but best I got was 8. If you use a headset and chat, it's closer to 4-6 hours. -While it uses a standard micro USB to charge and connect for wired mode ( cable included ), the port is in a trapezoidal recess that makes it incompatible with any existing DualShock 4 charging accessories. A lot of my regular micro USB cables won't fit in it either, though some of the smaller collars do. -Package claims 12 hour battery life, but best I got was 8. If you use a headset and chat, it's closer to 4-6 hours. -It can't turn on the PS4, though this may be more Sony's fault than Astro's. Instead you need to use the physical system button on the PS4 or turn it on using a different controller first. -It won't turn off on its own in wireless mode, even when the console shuts down. -No light bar on the front so it won't work with any PS Camera games or apps. -Doesn't feel like a DS4 controller. It's more like a wide Xbox controller with thicker handles. Some people won't care, but those who love the DS4 may be disappointed TLDR The C540 is a nice controller on its own, especially when you consider the limited selection in quality rear paddle PS4 controllers available. But at $200 it's in the same price range as a custom built controller from Cinch, Beaver, and other competitors, all of which will have two more buttons on the back. The lack of creature comfort features and lackluster battery life make it more disappointing for the price. Not including extras like an alternate d-pad cover or full set of long thumbsticks also seems cheap for the price.

    Great work ASTRO!

Okay, first of all. I have used many controllers from many manufacturers for my PC. Be it the X-Box elite controller, or Logitech controller and even Steel Series Controller. I came across Astro and I decided to buy it. Astro is really doing well with a series of gaming headset for PC and consoles. I already own an Astro A50 headset, which I use for both PC and PS4. I really love the build quality. Compared to normal controllers, this one is bit heavy, but fits into my hands perfectly. You need to download the software and update the firmware and its good. I love the fact that you can play this either wired or wireless. Good job Astro. The fact that this controller is future proof and replacing the buttons or the joystick seems like a great idea. The only negative thing about this product is the $200 price tag, but then again if you use it for gaming for 3-4 hours, it feels worth it. Definitely buy it. Update the firmware and just plug & play.

My son is loving the Astro C40 TR Wireless Conroller for Playstation. He plays on multiple platforms and this has been his favorite controller so far. He can change the controller to look and act like an Xbox controller. It has also been the most expensive controller he has ever had - so I guess you have to take that into consideration. The first difference my son noticed with this controller is that it did not connect over bluetooth. It does come with a dongle that you plug into your Playstation or PC to use the contoller and that makes the controller wireless. The controller has many options for customization - too many for me to list. This controller is defitnitly larger and would be good for those with bigger hands. It is also a bit heavier than other controllers - but the features of the controller far outweigh these in my sons words. He has had a blast playing with this controller and would recommend this to anyone who loves to play.

    Excellent Pro controller for PS4

I have always wanted a better controller for my PS4. Something a little bigger. This controller answered that. It has a bigger feel for larger hands. Feels very premium and responsive. I felt the response of the controls enabled me to react quicker when playing Madden 19 and Fortnite. I also remapped the rear triggers to the reload and jump buttons so that I can more comfortably maneuver around. That I feel makes the controller worth it. I still have not had a chance to swap the Dpad and left Joystick but imagine that will come in handy soon. The only con is not being able to turn on the PS4 from the controller. Possibly other colors would be cool like Blue.

I leaned on my son for much of the comments for this controller. He is an avid PC gamer as well as a PlayStation 4 gamer. What he loves most about this controller is the sensitivity of the controls on the device. This is one of the things logitech remotes for this product and we believe this claim is true. The wireless charge lasted much longer than my sons previous wireless controllers. He hopes to be using this logitech controller well into the future. I highly recommend this controller for those gamers who are looking for increased sensitivity or the controller as well as a solid battery life.

I was needing a second controller for a PS4 and this definitely fits the bill. It’s comfortable to use and the controls are very similar to the original PS4 controller. Great option for the price.
