Big step up from dualshock 4
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Remember the first time you used the PS4 Dualshock 4 and how different it felt from the PS3 Dualshock 3? - This is what the step up to the Astro c40 feels like. The build quality is great, the buttons are well placed and easy to remap on the fly, and it feels like a controller I'll be using for years not months (my one complaint about the dualshock 4 controller). Not turning on the PS4 is actually a feature for me - I also use this with my PC gaming setup, and I actually prefer to choose which system I am using it with rather than hoping it doesn't accidentally turn on the PS4 while using it on PC. I'l admit, it does take a few more seconds to either push the power button on your PS4 or use another controller to turn it on, so if you are really pressed for time and cant live without those 5 seconds, this isn't the controller for you. everyone else? it's A+ (ps - i bought the replacement plant from best buy. seems a no brainer, just in case)

Win Games with The Best Gaming Controller
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best gaming controller. The easy and adaptable sticks along with the ability to map the buttons makes it great. Just fits better in the hands the scuffs as well.

Feeling like a professional gamer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have no idea what professional gamers use but it should be this. This thing has a nice weight balance interchangeable buttons he comes with four pads that you can change out on your analogs. as soon as I get the money I'm going to go get another one because this is the only controller worth playing with. Amazing!!

What I've been waiting for
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off, for people who are complaining about the PS button not powering on the PS4. This has been already documented in the specs of the controller on the Astro website. So that is your fault for not researching the product. I went back and forth of a scuf for years, finally pulled the trigger, and wish I didn't. The scuf controller began falling apart within a month of moderate use. The joysticks had to be replaced, the pain was chipping, the paddles weren't comfortable at all, and the buttons would get stuck. Absolutely awful. The C40 does everything right and mapping the 'scuf' buttons is super easy. I use the C40 on my PC and PS4 with zero issues. The customization is insane. The only thing, which probably only applies to me, is the way the controller is shaped. I'm used to primarily using the R1 L1 buttons for shooters and this controller is shaped to where my fingers fall on the R2 L2 more easily. So ill have to get used to swapping those. Other than that, I have absolutely been recommending this to all my friends who play competitive shooters on PS4 or who want a good controller for PC.

Best controller for PS4
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've used every Scuf controller out there and the astro is hands down the best controller. Period. If you have never used a controller with paddles there is a learning curve for sure. You might inadvertently push buttons at first but you WILL get used to it. The build quality is amazing and feels so good to hold. With swappable modules you'll be able to customize the layout or replace broken thumbsticks with ease. If you are in the market for a custom controller this is the one to get hands down.

Easy to use
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first pro controller, and I'm very impressed with what Astro has to offer here. For the quality,, the controller offers a quality build with a lot of options for fine tuning to what I want for gaming.

Great features but has its issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I see what Astro is trying to do with this controller but there's still some things that needs to be worked on. The good. I like how the controller gives you the ability to switch your stick layout easily and how the C40 has a built in EQ for sound tuning. It has trigger stops to reduce trigger travel time, and two remappable buttons that are easy to setup, allowing you to save up to two profiles (on the controller). My two biggest complaints with the controller is the weight and the build quality of the modules. The controller feels massive in your hands! You'll get use to it once you start playing with it for a bit but compared to the DS4, you know when you're holding this controller. As for the build quality, I've had my modules, (removable sticks and d-pad), go out on me twice now. The sticks start to get a bit of drift after a bit which leads to you resetting the controller, then waiting until it happens again. Eventually, this trick will stop working and you'll have yourself a defective module. Another issue I've had recently is the left trigger broke while the trigger stops were on and honestly, they don't feel right at all. Btw, second controller in 6 months. Only bought the second one because I had a replacement plan on the first.

Easy to use
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Only took less than 20 minutes for set up. Feels very comfortable to hold, finger rests gently on trigger buttons. Joysticks and buttons are on point, no lag. Bought this as a replacement for a PS4 controller, 100% worth it for the price!

$200 But Cannot Power On PS4
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a huge ASTRO Gaming fans for years. I have used their A50 headsets and been mostly satisfied. So I figured the new C40 would be just as good. Pros: 1. Very solid/well built 2. Highly customizable 3. Good button layout and paddle/under button location 4. Very fast response time Cons: 1. Dealbreaker for me: Cannot power on PS4 regardless if it is wired or wireless. For $200, it should be able to AT LEAST power on the PS4, especially since it is a licensed PS4 controller. Might as well buy a Scuf or Battle Beaver because for $200 they will power on the PS4 and have just as many features.

great but will eventually fail
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.the controller is great feeling and comfortable .software and mapping is easy . The only downside is the analog sticks will get drift and usually it will come back even if you change them or troubleshoot . My L3 button went out and i had stick drift that couldnt be helped . I had the controller replaced twice by astro . The customer support is good but if you game alot this controller will fail you eventually. Sad because its great feeling controller.i never dropped my controllers or mistreated them either .

Disappointed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Paying the amount of money payed for this controller it should work directly out of the box. No firmware updates nothing. But instead I'm approximately 4hrs into use and I turn the controller off to switch analog positions and try to turn it back on and it doesn't no turn on also directs my point of view straight to the ground and walks me full speed backwards. I cant do anything to make it stop. There's your review. Trash just like the scuf vantage.

High Expectations, Average Delivery
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought 3 Astro headsets in the past and was always happy so I was very excited about the controller. It came in without a dpad disc which I have to pay extra for... I get it, $200 for a controller isn’t enough already... The sticks feel cheap and loose, the ps button doesn’t turn on the console and the controller is way too big. It’s an ok pad but for $200 I was hoping to be blown away

I wanted this to be so much better!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Disappointed that this product did not work correctly with Fortnite. When it stops working you have to restart everything. To top it off it took several hours to get the drivers installed properly. You also can’t map the UR/UL buttons to triggers. What’s the point? It also kind of slips out of my hands a bit. I went back to using a regular PS4 controller on my PC and it just worked better. I love Astro but they dropped the ball on this one. Not worth the price.
