Huge mistake! Both internal microphones stopped working within two months (of course, after the 30 day return period). I've had to purchase external microphones because Asus' customer service has been completely unhelpful - I can send the computers in and it will take several weeks to fix. Now, one of the internal fans is malfunctioning and is so loud it can't be used. Lesson learned, I will never purchase an Asus again.

We are terribly sorry the device microphone stopped working and on behalf of our customer support team for not providing the best support and mostly for the inconvenience this has caused you. This model undergoes intensive quality control testing and final inspection for both hardware and software. ASUS provides a warranty for the unit in order to fix or repair any isolated issue. This information will be passed on to our development team. Please allow us to make your experience better. We are recommending to complete a system restore on the device and reinstall the Chipset driver from the ASUS website. Please follow the steps below to complete the driver installation.
1. After the download is completed, go to where you saved the folder.
2. Right-click on the folder and choose ''Extract All'' and then choose ''Extract'' again.
3. After all the contents have been extracted, you may delete/disregard the folder with the zip icon.
4. Next, open the SETUP file.
5. Please choose to 'repair' or 'update' the existing installation (driver) if any one of those options does appear in the setup. Finally, restart after the installation is completed.

Returned twice due to non funtioning USB ports

The USB ports on this new one stopped working after 1 week of occasional connection to an external drive. I returned the laptop and the external drive and exchanged both for replacements. The replacement laptop and external drive developed the same issue after a week of occasional use. No one could determine the cause of the issue but without USB ports the laptop lacks a critical functionality. Other than the USB ports the laptop performed as needed. I have purchased a different brand upgraded laptop.
