I did an upgrade from an old Dell Laptop to this one. I was looking for a budget laptop as a student and the choice was between this one and a Lenovo. Both basically had the same specs. I choice this one for the look and the beautiful screen resolution. It wasn't as light weight as I wanted it to be, but I was okay with that. I had decided that I was going to take it back. I listen to a lot of music and watch videos on my laptop and didn't like having to turn the volume all the way up to hear. I was excited that it had Harmon/Kardon speakers, but didn't pay attention that the speakers were underneath the laptop. Even with the 360 degree ErgoLift hinge, the sound is still not loud enough. I missed the 14 day return policy, so I had to keep it. I use the keypad a lot, so this just might be me needing to check the settings but I use it a lot and some times it doesn't respond when I press it. I have to hit it several times before it responds or I have to choose another spot on the keypad, before it will respond. There is another issue that I found when looking at website. Sometimes, and it's hard to explain, when I look at something on a website and I try to highlight it, I get this black strip that looks like a scan bar across a patch of the website. It goes away if I back out of the website. I've had it for almost two months now and the charging cord is starting to fray. Right where that piece connects to the laptop and the cord connects to it. On the upside, I have a Surface Go and the Surface Pen works on this laptop, a little. It's not a smooth writing experience. I tried the Bamboo Pen and that doesn't work at all. I saw that Asus has it's own pen Other than those issues, It's a good laptop. If you don't mind for their laptops. If I decided to keep it, I'll buy one. The battery life is very good. My Dell last maybe 3 hours without being charged up. I like that the backlit keyboard doesn't stay lit all the time. If you're not typing, the light goes out. I've only used it once in tablet mode. I used it to read a Kindle book. It was okay, it worked. I didn't read long. My blue tooth headphones work well with this. Other than the speakers being underneath the laptop, it's a good laptop. I guess it would be easier just to buy a wireless speaker, than to get a new laptop. I actually wish I would have gotten a Chromebook. Black Friday is in 5 days. Well see.

      Dear Nikita,

I'm sorry to hear about the various issues you are having with your laptop. This is absolutely not the type of experience we want any of our customers to have. ASUS provides warranty coverage in order to fix or repair any product that may stop working prematurely under normal usage. Based on your description of your experience, I recommend having your laptop sent to ASUS for service under warranty through an RMA. Our Online RMA tool is available at the link below. Thank you for choosing ASUS!

    Needs a Mouse

I've been using this laptop for a few weeks, and I'm really happy with it. I purchased a Geek Squad-certified open-box item and it arrived in great condition with no problems. The only issue I have is that the trackpad is either really sensitive or not sensitive enough - I can't quite tell. The left and right-click buttons are built into the bottom corners of the trackpad, which is taking a lot of getting used to (I was coming from a laptop where the selection buttons were separate from the trackpad). I keep accidentally zooming in or out because I'll rest my thumb where I think the button is, and then move the cursor with my index finger. If my thumb is in just the wrong spot, the trackpad thinks I'm trying to zoom. Kind of irritating. I'll probably get a mouse to resolve the problem.

We purchased 2 ASUS laptops for use when the world is set right again for travel. This is mine I purchased it knowing it was an open box purchase. Got it home set it up and have been enjoying it since then. My husband’s was a different story see the review I wrote and I apologize. His was also open box a breeze to set up but no windows activation key. I called Best Buy, they couldn’t help me, I called Microsoft I was frustrated and not a very good listener so I put it out of mind until this morning. My husband brought the laptop in and asked for some help with something, solved the issue, figured I’d try setting windows up again. Went to online Microsoft support answered a couple questions, was told to enter in the ID associated with this laptop and yah Windows 10 activated. I m very computer illiterate, always relied on son who sadly passed from cancer in 2015. His younger brother willing to help isn’t as able to drop everything to answer all my silly computer related issues. He is more like try to figure it out I ll help if you can’t fix it. I m looking forward to using our computers for gaming thanks ASUS and thanks BestBuy

The laptop is pretty good. I got this for my son to update his old laptop so that he can do his classes online now. We wanted touch screen with the laptop. The 8gb of ram and 256gb of storage really helps. It was a good buy.

Let our returning college sophomore pick out a new computer and this was his choice. He wanted something with 2-in-1 capabilities that was light and compact enough to carry with him around campus. After spending an hour comparing different options, he determined that this would work for him and he has been happy with it so far.

I got this as a replacement for my little Lenovo, which I had all sorts of issues with and was starting to fall apart. I like the Frameless Nanoedge because I feel like I'm getting so much more screenroom and the metal frame feels so much more solid. I did have to send it into Geek Squad because one of the fans broke and started making a horrendous noise, but luckily it was covered by the warranty and easily fixed. It's quiet, it's fast, it does everything I need it to. The only real complain I have is that wow there is so much screen glare, I'm going to have to get a cover for it because while it's beautiful it's very very shiny and it makes it hard to see movies or write near a window because of the glare.

I'm completely impressed with everything about this laptop. I didn't know it could turn into a tablet until a few weeks after I bought it, so that was a nice surprise. Although the processor isn't the latest and greatest, it runs very well. I use it primarily for programming and it's been great so far

First time buying Asus product. This laptop overall is okay to use. Not as fast as other product like Surface Pro. One issue that I ran into is update. It failed to update several time and kept saying the computer missing some important component. After resetting, reinstalling, and relogging in, it worked fine. About speed, I rate at 7 out of 10. Compare to my Surface Pro 6 with mid specs i5 256 SSD 8G RAM, the Asus runs slower a lot. Opening applications and browsing web took awhile to open. In a nutshell, this is okay just for web browsing and light work. If you look for a laptop for school and work, I suggest spending extra bucks for a Surface Pro. As the owner of both, I would prefer the Surface.

I've had this laptop for a year and a half now and have really no issues. One time it was acting weird, and I never shut it down all the way, so I totally shut it down and when it came on it was fine. So glad I bought this! And I love the touch screen on it!

Solid performing computer. Easy to use. The speed ,memory, and flow in performance is good. The criticism "we"(my wife and I) have, is the keyboard lighting is poor, especially in the evenings.

Works great, light weight, fast processing. I purchased for business purposes and it is perfect for me. The only con so far is the backlight is dim in a bright room making it difficult to see the letters on the keys.

Very lightweight and is easy to carry around. The only downside that some people may have to this laptop may be that it doesn't have a place to put in a cd. Other than that this laptop is touch screen which is easy to use and can bend 360 degrees to act like a tablet.

For a moderately priced overall touchscreen laptop, this Asus with the ryzen 5 processor definitely will suffice for my every day uses with word processing, internet browsing, and video streaming. Works really well, doesn't over heat, and so far has performed all the tasks without lag.
