I am very happy with this computer. The biggest selling point for me was the processor speed at 3.1gHz and the weight at a very light 2.2 pounds. The set up was easy and the computer has worked flawlessly for 2 weeks now. I am not a gamer, but I use the computer for emails, documents, and internet. Great computer for the money.

Literally the worst laptop I've ever owned. I bought this in late 2019 from MicroCenter, not Best Buy and it wasn't cheap at the time, (though it consistently performed like a $200 laptop). This was my first Asus computer of any kind, (I've owned pretty much everything else over the years, HP, Acer, Toshiba, Samsung, Lenovo). Less than a year in, the thing started performing like a computer that was 4-5 years old. Now, less than 4 years later, it's on it's deathbed and I have a new computer coming Wednesday. My personal experience is even with daily use, my laptops last 5-6 years. This this is garbage. So slow, constantly bogging down and maxing out the Task Manager CPU and Disk, and even as I type this, both are maxing out. I don't even use the thing for gaming. Just general internet use, streaming, and not much else. This will be my last Asus for sure.

This computer came out of the box much MUCH slower than any computer I've owned in the last decade. It's incredibly slow for what seems like no reason at all and it takes forever to do the simplest of tasks such as opening a browser or app or even just typing (yes, it lags even just when typing this review). This was a horrible purchase that I regret and Best Buy's return policy (only 15 days) makes it an even more regrettable purchase.

Do understand your disappointment if you are experiencing slow system speed or performance issue with the laptop. Certainly, the unit was designed as an entry-level computer that runs basic and light computing applications like web-surfing, emailing and word-processing without compromising system stability and performance.
This issue is temporary during the initial WINDOWS setup and before installing cumulative WINDOWS Update, regardless what brand name of computer this may be. This may take a longer time depending on the network traffic from the update server and the stability of your high-speed internet service. Also, laptop will do several system reboot, black screen temporarily or restart during the update process.
Once initial setup and WINDOWS Update installation completed, system speed or performance will be optimized. Keeping Windows updated will maintain optimum system stability and performance.
If the above-mentioned steps were already performed to no avail, please try to run a diagnostics or optimization test using the "My ASUS" utility software or application.
