The computer is barely usable until you either replace the hdd or reinstall windows. Windows update currently has all of the drivers needed for windows 10 on this computer, so you do not need to download drivers from asus, just run windows update. Once windows is reinstalled it works well for basic web browsing. HDD can be replaced fairly easily (I went with an ssd) you can find a howto video on youtube. Be careful prying up the keyboard after you take out the screws, the paint and plastic are very thin!

Lightweight nice looking laptop, but horribly slow

Bought this laptop for school. Super slow and the space bar never worked would have to hit it 5 to 10 times to get a space. Took back after 2 days

For under $300, you get what you get. The hard disk was slow to boot, so I installed a $100 SSD and the laptop rocks. It boots fast, touch screen, and runs Office. Bottom line, I have $400 invested for a consistent fast laptop.

I bought this lap top two days ago and traded it out once. The first time the computer space bar sticked and the keys not working properly plus the Internet would freeze up and the web pages would not display. Slow!!!! And the second swap the space bar was worse and all the keys stopped working. !!! Do not buy !!!

I just got this computer and i love it I'm still setting things up the way i want them and other than the power button being a key on the keyboard I have no complaints. It's extremely fast at boot up and runs flawlessly. My old computer has more ram as this only has 4gb ram but it runs like a beast. My games load fast & so does everything else, on and off the internet. BTW, the battery will get about 5-6 hours.

So it is very true about what they are saying about the mouse it does not work is defective and the keyboard is somewhat displaced in a way and. It makes it quite difficult to type naturally . This computer cost me about 279 after-tax but I am contemplating getting another one because this computer sounds cheap and also feels cheap

I bought this Asus laptop about 3 months ago... (had to wait before I gave my review).... This is a perfect laptop. It has all the inputs I need, has a beautiful screen and responsive keyboard.. There might be still people who has never heard of Asus, they made computer parts for other companies and decided to finally make their own computers.. It is the Best computers on the planet!! No complaints AT ALL!! There are some tweaks you will might have to make to speed up the internet and make it faster...( not that it was slow).. BUT I LOVE IT!! Now I have Asus EVERYTHING!! Laptop, Tablet, and soon, Cell Phone...

This by far is the WORST computer I ever purchased. Both my wife and I got one of these thinking it would be good, but we were wrong. This computer looks nice but isn't. It is VERY cheaply made. When you type or use the mouse it feels and sounds like it is going to break. It sounds very hollow. It is also very slow. I am disappointed with this computer, I know it was a budget computer...all we wanted was something extra to browse the web, do email and write stuff on when we didn't feel like sitting at our desktop, but this computer couldn't even handle that. It is resetting right now as I type this on my desktop. Going back to the store tomorrow for a refund.

I read the reviews- some were good, some were bad- but for the price I thought I'd give it a try. I just wanted something to surf the web, and use MS Word and Excel (maybe the occasional PP)- that's ALL! No major downloads or streaming of anything. However, this computer went back today. It is so slow- to the point that the mouse is all jumpy all over the screen because it lags so bad. I pulled my 7 year old HP out of the closet and tested it against this computer and the old HP was much faster. Sad. As I said I returned this computer and got something with a better/faster processor. I've only had it a few hours but so far much, much quicker.

For what I paid the product it holds up okay. There are some delays in processing, but that's been my experience with all ASUS products thus far. When purchased I was on a budget and needed something that wasn't too expensive, that was light for travel, and gave me a good amount of drive space. If you're on a budget I would recommend. If you can stand to spend a bit more, there are other products that function better and quicker.

This notebook has all features you need for word processing, e-mail and even the Internet browsing. Windows 10 runs smoothly on it but slow because of a slow processor, not enough memory and slow hard drive. The cost is low, too, so if you do not mind waiting, it is worth the money.

I needed a need laptop and this was great for the price.

The color is what caught my attention, as well as the price. It's easy to navigate, It has all the connections I need, USB, hdmi, memory card. It seems to charge fast and it also has the number key pad that I like on the keyboard.

The Asus is a great laptop BUT I've had mine for two weeks and the mouse had already went down hill. It's a good laptop to have for work or play but when you do purchase the laptop, make sure you get a universal mouse to go with it so that you do not have the problem I had.

Right out of the box this laptop was extremely slow and after it's first full charge, the battery drained significantly fast. Super confusing considering my 5 yro laptop (the one i hoping to upgrade from) was 10x faster. I tried to use it for simple everyday tasks (emails, Skype, friggin Zoo Tycoon) and it can hardly manage any of it. It's like the computer is just having a hard time at life. Honestly though, a web page shouldn't take 30 laggy seconds to load... Maybe it would be okay if you just wanted it for Paint and Solitaire? I don't even know if I'd risk giving it those tasks...

I bought this laptop for my sister to use for work and she has loved it so far. It is a simple computer but you get what you pay for. It had every program she needed to perform daily tasks for her job and she couldn't ask for more.

I use this computer for work only, it's a little too slow for my liking. Wish I would have done more research before I purchased it, but the sales associate told me it would be great for work

I recommend this to people who rarely use their laptop and don't do a lot off everyday schooling or work on a laptop its slow and great just for convenience at home

It was a very good computer for my daughter who went to college I wouldn't recommend it for gamers are people that are downloading big things but it does well for college school work.
