Bought as a Christmas gift for our granddaughter. Asus is a highly rated brand (#3 after Mac and Lenovo) so we thought the Best Buy sale price was an outstanding deal. She was thrilled with it; and, as a student, will have all of the tools to get the job done and also the capability to enjoy other features.

Very hard time dealing with Windows 8 and seem to have contracted at least one virus in less than 2 weeks of purchase. I have to wonder if this was caused by lack of knowledge of what should be on the system so I opened the wrong thing.

I purchased 2 of these laptops for my 9-year old twins for Christmas and they were absolutely thrilled! The laptop is very lightweight and the battery life is excellent. Also, you can't beat the price.

This is a good laptop. I have'nt had any problems with it and it was easy to set it up. Easy to use once I got used to Windows 8 (my old one was Windows 7) I was happy to see that I able to access my same favorite game and it is alot faster than my old one.

So far so good...I have been using this laptop for my day by day work; some times it gets a little slow but nothing to worry about...I really think it's a good product for the money paid.

Performance in general is acceptable, good sound and screen resolution. Two specific things I don't like: 1. It doesn't has a light indicator to let know when Uppercase and numeric keypad are activated. 2. Wireless range is very limited. If I want to connect to WiFi, I must be close to the modem. I'm sure that the modem is not the problem, because my previous old laptop used to work perfectly being at one floor of distance. I had to buy an USB wireless adapter to connect from any room at home. I bought this laptop especially to surf through internet, but it was a horrible surprised when I noticed how short is the wireless range.

Enjoying this laptop great deal. Light weight, fast. The only problem I have is the battery. Does not last more than two hours before charging it back. Took it to the geek squad. They tested the battery and said that it was normal.

This is a fast computer and awesome for the price. I use it for watching movies on Netflix and using web conference.

Laptop is great. Daughter loves it and uses it daily for all her school work including homework, reports, etc. Great price for a nice laptop. It will hopefully last a few years.

I had to reboot the entire computer to get it to work correctly. I downloaded the anti-virus software and so far the computer is doing well. For the price this is a great buy.

I love my new laptop.. however I do not love windows 8! Over all I would buy again but I am having to learn a lot as I go along

My five year old Toshiba is showing signs of old age and so I decided to replace it. This Asus laptop appealed to me because of Asus' reputation for quality plus the features-i3 chip, large capacity hard drive, webcam and many other features. I was reluctant to get Windows 8.1 as it requires a learning curve. After familiarizing myself with it I feel it will be just fine for me. The price was amazingly low.

bought it on sale and it works great. has all the features i need and nothing extra to weigh it down. the processor was the deciding factor when i got this laptop because i was tired of seeing laptops with celeron processors and the likes. if i could i would throw all cheap processors into a volcano. also this is my first windows 8 product so i have to say that its something different for me. i just try to stick to the familiar desktop though.

This was a great laptop, except for the fact that I am not really familiar with this OS. I might upgrade to windows 10, other than that it is a really good laptop.

Nabbed it on sale, very good laptop with a Core 3 processor. The battery doesn't seem to last as long as I thought it would. Overall quite pleased with purchase.

Ok laptop for what it costs. Windows 8 is definitely not on my favorite list. Buying from best buy on line was quick & simple, will definitely do so again!

great price point and enough features and power to be completely useful for the average home user who is using it for email, web surfing, and social media.

I got this laptop for my wife to use for college. Her last one bit the dust! I couldn't afford to spend alot of money and usually, you get what you pay for, so i wasn't expecting much; but we were pleasantly surprised with this one. This Asus does exactly what she needs for school and personal use...and then some! The best part is that I didn't have to spend a fortune to get it. We are very satisfied!

I've been busy with school when I bought this laptop. The only thing I didn't like was that the OS forced me to go back and forth for an audio player but downloading a different audio player solved that problem. It's a lot faster than my dual core amd laptop. The speakers are a bit on the soft side but it doesnt hinder the quality. The keyboard can take a pounding since I type fast for my essays. Overall, I'd say this is a decent laptop for anyone who just needs a laptop to do the bare minimum for note taking, essays and watching movies.

My daughter has not complained about the computer being slow. She basically uses it to play Minecraft only. We got it for a great price.
