You have to download software for the DVD player to work, but not a big deal. The worst part is the battery, very short charge life, maybe an hour if lucky. But as mine is usually plugged in, not a problem. If your looking for a cheap computer for basic needs, its a good deal. If your into heavy gaming or high end use, pass.

I did receive good help from Best Buy who assisted me with return and I found a much better computer with their help.

Finally then it told me to upgrade to 8.1 and it froze for 6 days, called their tech dept, it did the whole restoring setup etc... and again went to work on it and same thing, black screen with ASUS loge, and the circle thing reloading for another couple of days, called back and they had me do certain steps etc. and said something got lost send it back in... Took it back to Best Buy and the Geek Squad couldn't look at it, too busy so they gave me another one. Same thing happen all over again, so returned it for a refund.... I should have stuck with Toshiba....

Took it back and exchanged it for another. Same thing all over again. Finally decided to upgrade to a better ASUS model and it works great.
