Very difficult to adjust to windows 8.

After my purchase and began use I slowly became adjusted to the new windows 8. However, when I tried to transfer my old widows data from my old laptop (which I believed I purchased from your store in Las Vegas) trying to access all of my data was extremely difficult. So had to pay over $140 in outside computer work help. Then I still ran into more and more problems. I had to return it. I have heard of many other people having troubles with windows 8 also.

    Still seeing about this

This is my first Asus since I usually use Toshiba. I wanted to try a new brand especially since my last Toshiba messed up. First, I just purchased this 11/21/14 and the price was right up my alley. The specs aren't bad either with the 3rd Gen Core i3 and I was looking for a laptop that had 4GBs of Ram with 500GBs of space like my recently busted Toshiba. I also went with Asus since I read it's one of the top brands as well. I like the look and feel of it thus far. I'm not sure if it feels cheaply made with a not so comfortable keyboard, but it feels alright to me and I can get used to this keyboard. It came with Windows 8 which was just sloooow. The reviews online said that it's a slow OS but gets faster like Windows 7 when upgraded to 8.1 and it's true. So I'm pleased about that. I haven't tested out the camera much but when I did the feed was a bit more blurry than I would like. But I can deal with that. The fan isn't loud. My last Toshiba was annoyingly loud and the Toshiba with Windows 8.1 that my mom just got is just as annoyingly loud; it's ridiculous. I can have this on at night without the worries of the fan echoing throughout the house (lol) I do miss the indicator light telling me if caplocks and the nums lock is on or not but it's not a big deal. Only 2 USB ports and I'm used to 3 but again, it's not a big deal. What really got me was the wifi connectivity issue I was having. The connection would go out like about every hour. I never had that issue with a laptop before. I just troubleshooted it today and it got me connected almost right away. I just hope I stay connected. The other thing that gets me is the battery life. My Toshiba Mini NB205 holds a charge around 5hrs and this machine is only 2hrs and 15mins max from what I saw when I hovered over the battery icon after a charge. And this battery is a non-removable battery -____-. They warn if you remove it and tinker with it you could do some major damage. But I would like to get a much better battery for this machine and I'm wondering if it's possible. If so, can anyone inform me please? But overall, for right now, I am satisfied. Hopefully I won't have anything else to complain about.

Bought this for my girlfriend, quickly returned it for an ipad. If you just go through and press on any of the keyboards of these new laptops they all feel so flimsy and cheap. What's great is that someone that really needs a computer can get one, but I doubt this laptop would make it through 6 months without breaking. the resolution on the screen was incredibly dim and blurry.

I set up the Asus laptop and updated all Windows 8 programs. I could not get the WIFI to work properly. I spent hours with ASUS service, absolutely useless help. Geek squad much better, but they could not solve the WIFI problem.. I exchanged the Laptop and continued to have the same problem. I got a great deal this Asus i3 Laptop, but you get what you pay for.

I bought this laptop from the Best Buy store close to Miami Intl. and the Dolphin Mall on Nov 16th and it has never worked. I followed the instructions given to charge and it has been 4 days now and nothing. I contacted the INTL warranty telephone number given to me and I was told that someone will be in touch in 1 to 2 business days. I am waiting.

Gave as a gift. Didn't work. Laptop kept locking up and freezing. I have 2 other ASUS computers and have been happy with both. Upon opening this one though, I was disappointed in the cheap feel of the screen. It felt like it was made of cheap, flimsy plastic. I took it back and got an HP. bestBuy customer service was awesome as always.

This product is ok, but has issues

1st, it comes loaded with Win 8.0 - not 8.1. 2nd, it comes with adware that IF YOU ARE NOT VERY CAREFUL, will load malware that infects your browser with uncontrollable popups. I strongly urge any buyer to use the File Explorer function and delete the adware before running IE or loading and running Firefox. Better yet, have the Geeks do it for you in the store before you take it home. As far as the product itself if concerned, I have had it for a week and like it. It has decent speed and iCore 3 processor for a reasonable price point. I use it for traveling only so my needs are not significant, i.e., MS Office, email, and web surfing. Be sure to download and install ALL of the Win 8,0 updates (approx. 120 of those btw), before installing/upgrading to Win. 8.1. My upgrade/install to 8.1 was not a big deal.

    Nice simple laptop

I went in to Bestbuy and grabbed me this laptop when it was on sale for $249.99(sale started on 11/20/14) and was expecting them to be sold out. To my surprise they had some left and i decided i might as well pick one up. So what i like from looking at specs of the laptop, okay amount of ram, I3 processor, and okay screen size. Only 3 things bother me about the whole laptop, 1: Windows 8, and 2: Intel Graphic chip set, and 3: The touch pad, get a mouse to take with you. Some game just don't get support for the Intel graphic chip sets and so that's kind of a shame. So i boot up my new laptop, set-up Windows 8 for the first time, Install Classic shell to make it look like Windows 7, and install other programs i want on it. I decide I'm going to push the graphics a bit and try and run Civilization: Beyond Earth, this game is really demanding for even higher end PC Desktops. So once installed i load it up, and to my shock it's running. Though the graphic settings are on Low and it's lags a bit, but it worked. Now i have an Asus G73JW series laptop, but this laptop cost me about $1800.00 and i get worried taking it out to every place. It a lot heavier, and suppose to be a back-up if anything goes wrong with my desktop. I wanted a "Everyday" sort of laptop that i can take places, let people borrow, and not be dragging something that would bother me if something happens. Need a gift for the holiday, this works great, looking for something light and easy on the pocket book, or just want a spare laptop to let other use or haul around get this. When checking out though don't get the warranty, this laptop with tax was $275, the warranty was $149.00 for 1 Year. For that price i could have bought a second one, so just get the laptop and if it breaks, whatever just get a new one. The laptop come's with the 1 year warranty from Asus so that's more then enough for this simple laptop.

    Good Computer

I bought this computer right before black Friday when it was on sale for $250. For the price, I think it's pretty good. I bought it for school work since I was about to start grad school and this computer does what I need it to do. It's not flashy and feels kinds cheap but for $250 and the fact that I have a better touchscreen laptop with a horrible keyboard, this one was good enough for my purposes.

My mom isn't the most tech savy person in the world however she does enjoy surfing the web and watching hulu/netflix/etc on the go. The laptop is lightweight, considering it's not ultra thin, has good battery life, and is speedy on start up and program switching. The length of time it takes to update is a little long, but I'm a mac user so i may be biased.

I ordered it for my friend's kids. I checked it whether it's functioning correctly. I paid around $250 as it was on a sale. The laptop functions as it intends to. It's a plastic laptop so don't expect something really fancy as you expect from Aluminium and Magnesium finished laptops. But you can't complaint about the quality for the paid price. The laptop is good for daily use , web browsing, some office work and watching movies and DVDs.

I used a coupon on a "deal of the day" and got this for $220. For that price, it was a steal! It is about as quick as my MacBook, and has a much larger hard drive. For the price of a good external, you can't go wrong!
