Got it for my 9th grader....great value for high school/college kids

I bought two, one for my wife and one for myself for home use. This is easy to set up to my wireless network and Windows 8 is great. This runs fast and true. I do a lot of email with graphics and this unit performs to my needs. Speakers are "good", the on board camera is and Skype is clear with great audio. BUY this one for sure.

It's a cheap laptop (price and feel). I would have given it 5 stars, because it seems worth the price. However, mine came with Windows 8, not 8.1, as advertised. All of the other specs check out.

We wanted an inexpensive Tablet and this one fit the bill. Great deal for the price and does everything we wanted with internet, emails and some basic games.

We got this for my father as a Christmas present. His laptop needed replacing, and it is much faster and performs much better. Thanks a bunch!

I am using this product for daily browsing and some basic work and have not had any problems.

It's perfect for web (IE and Chrome), office apps/office 365, google apps, etc. I also use my Outlook account and Onedrive with this. It handles these apps with ease and speed - even some light desktop publishing! For about the same price as my chromebook, I get Windows 8.1 and a 15" screen! Speaker quality will impress you too.

I bought this same laptop black Friday 2009. i still have it and the only thing I have had to do is change the battery. The monitor is falling apart all around the rim so I am going back out to get another one because I don't know when this one will give out. Good connection speed, good speed all around. It runs a little hot and I did buy a cooler for it that broke at the connection site, but the heat hasn't damaged anything

Bought this item on sale been a long time asus customer they have excellent customer service. This particular item is not worth purchasing however. Item was purchased on sale for 249.99$ great deal for an asus with a i3 processor and 4 gs ram. This item is a pile of garbage and a huge waste of time. I have numerous complaints , no replaceable battery, non compatible charger(other asus laptops), processor is slow and lags, wireless card is faulty and overall build quality is poor at best. Don't waste your time or money on this device unless you enjoy headaches and being let down every time you lift up screen. Last complaint screen does not fold down completely only folds to 90 degrees or so. This item will be returned to Best buy very disappointed.

Good: Price cheap 380 w/tax. (needed a standard laptop for the wife, Internet, MS Office and Netflix etc.. Very basic). Bad: I suppose an i3 with 4 Gigs of RAM was cutting git close but I didn't think it would crawl. The HD write times were horrible. By the time it booted there was under 2 gigs of RAM available. I ripped out all the ASUS bloat-ware (helped a little) and it still ran like a dog. I didn't want to invest the time to figure out exactly where the issue was so I took it back. Purchased an i5 with 6 Gig HUGE difference with Windows 8. So the moral here is get at least 6 Gigs of RAM and an i5. Spend the extra 100-150 its well worth it even if its just an internet browser with some e-mail /Office functionality. ENJOY!

My sons Christmas and birthday present in one and he is really enjoying it.

My Toshiba died on me after five years so this was the perfect replacement. This laptop does everything I need it to do and more.

I just purchased the Asus lap top on line and picked it up in the store. very easy to set up and feels well made.

Bought this laptop today and the very first test with the video chatting failed it....the screen kept on freezing....given no other applications were actually running. Test 2 with using Chromecast also failed this laptop.....same issue, unable to stream video from Chrome browser......screen gets frozen every now and then..... Its going back tomorrow... :-(

Purchased laptop as a Christmas gift last month and possibly used the laptop a dozen times - well the laptop screen is white; doesn't display anything. Will return to Best Buy this weekend - hopefully I won't get the run-around and they make good on a defected product.

I was looking for a nice simple laptop and found an excellent match with my asus. It's a sharp, attractive, well-made laptop and I'm in love with it.

My previous laptop was also Asus, so I decided to go with ASUS again and it did not disappoint this time. Great Laptop for Great Price.

I got this last year and it is still running great! Way better than my old Toshiba laptop.
