Laptop not so great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well it began to swell in the area of the mouse pad .. I had no idea this could happen . I’ll be contacting the company to see if they will resolve this issue . It’s most likely the battery that swelled . Huge fire hazard!!

Acer Laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow is all I can say. Super light weight fast processor easy set up. Only issue I had was there was a passcode on my laptop that I did not assign. Called Acer the representative said someone forgot to remove from factory. Told me how reset and reinstall in 15 minutes and wow opened all kinds of new doors. The processor is fast and the ease of Windows 10 after a few wrong clicks was nice. Screen has a great view. I will be also hooking it to my external tv as a monitor cannot wait to use it for bookkeeping. Would recommend to anyone in the market for a laptop. Price was $399.99 which was very cost effective for my budget.

great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased 2 of these on sale from BB on dec 26 2015. Used them for a couple of weeks and worked fine. Then I upgraded the hard drive with a Samsung SSD evo 850. Now its on the internet within 15 second from a powered down state. About three times faster than the HD. Also purchased enclosures for the original hd ($7 each). Now I have a super fast computer with 1 tb external hd for less than $475 each. Great Deal. Was a little worried because some of the reviewers didn't give it a good rating. From my experience in the past I've found that some people are hard to please and will make major issues out of the smallest thing. I can assure you this is a great machine for the money.

Okay so far
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had problems with the mouse pad, I can't make it sensitive enough, I have to strike it several times. The same with the keyboard if you don't press hard enough. This laptop has to be disassembled to remove the battery or hard drive. The only access panel on the bottom is one for the ram slot. If you have to remove the battery to upgrade the ram, doesn't make much sense.

Awesome Value Good Performance
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sold computers for best buy for 5 years about 5 years ago. Can't believe how much bang you get for your buck now! 6gb of RAM and a great processor for under $500!? This thing is fast! Quit browsing and buy it.

Excellent for the Price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this about a week ago, and this laptop has been all around well worth the price. I’ve have had some problems with the software (being with windows 10) not the hardware. There’s been problems with Cortana’s speech function, the icons on the windows start button being gray out, and not being able to click; plus, the chat feature with Geek Squad on Window’s Edge browser doesn’t work. But I’m not going to blame any of that on the laptop its self. The main reason I gave it four stars instead of five was that the battery, and all the hardware is built inside the laptop and you have to send it to Geek Squad or directly to the manufacture for an unknown price to get it upgraded or even have the battery replaced. Besides all that I am very pleased with my new laptop, and felt it was very much worth the price.

Better than expected
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this laptop after extensive research and couldn't be pleased any more. I needed somewhat of a powerful computer to record and edit music. Everything included here hits the mark and some. It's extremely fast and I'm beyond impressed with the experience I've had thus far. The sales associates and technical employees that I encountered were helpful which also made a big impact on my decision to purchase this system.

Not sure who this machine is made for....
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The only thing good about this laptop is the price. That's where it end. It's like they packed a laptop from 10 years ago into a prettier package. Its PACKED FULL of bloatware. It takes a very long time to boot up or really complete any task. It says 6gb of RAM... It performs as if it has 512mb. On top of that... It doesn't have Bluetooth capabilities. I cant believe there are mobile and portable devices that are made without Bluetooth. Good thing the Best Buy associate sold my boss a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse set for it. It sounds like Best Buy needs to train there employees a little better. This laptop is a FLOP and I'd never recommend it to anyone over the age or 5 to operate.

Good value - Needs improvement
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I helped a friend select, buy and setup this ASUS laptop. The laptop specs indicate great value for the price, but during setup, a few annoyances were revealed. 1. Setup wasn't straightforward and took much longer than expected. It turned out to be something in the factory settings. ASUS could do a better job with the on-screen directions to setup and register the laptop. 2. To set the time and date, the calendar would not go beyond September 2015. The problem was fixed by contacting tech support. 3. The Num Lock and Caps Lock keys don't light up and have no other indicator to let a user know if they are on or off. 4. On boot up / reboot, the Num Lock always defaults to "Off," but that isn't obvious from looking at the keyboard. There aren't any instructions for resetting the Num Lock default to "On." 5. It took a long time to locate the user manual (pdf). ASUS should provide a link to the manual during setup (Toshiba always provides it for its laptops).

A very rough start
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this in store. The reason it gets 3 stars is because of the experience I had getting this laptop. Drove 30 miles home, new laptop in tow, only to boot it up to a very angry fan motor. It sounded like it was prepared to hit hyperdrive and pressing on keys made it even angrier. Also, could not connect to wifi unless i was sitting directly in front of the router. Drive 30 miles back to Best Buy. Customer Service was A+. Very caring. Started helping me immediately. The next laptop we go ahead and test in store. This one won't even boot up. The next one had a few keys smashed. Finally (3rd one is a charm) I get one that functions. Still working great but after my experience, I won't be surprised if this thing shuts down at any given moment. Best Buy, get a shipper that doesn't drop kick the goods upon arrival. Your store shouldn't have to go through 3-4 laptops to find one that hasn't gotten beat up.

2 lemons
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After purchasing my wife a Asus desktop a few years ago which is working great, I purchased this unit only to be very disappointed. The first unit keyboard didn't work at all, so I took it back within 2 hours. I was a little put off by geek squad who said that I should of purchased the geek squad service for setup only to have him verify that the keyboard only had a few keys that actually work I replaced it with a second unit and this unit worked much better with the exception of C key. This key didn't feel right and has to be hit a certain way for it to work. I will be taking this unit back today and will look for a different brand. Was also disappointed with customer service as one of the salesman who helped me with this purchase saw me in the geek squad line with the unit within 2 hours but never came over to see what the problem was.

Great for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great laptop for the money. I looked at all of the options in this price range, and this seemed to be the best one. I needed a laptop for school to use the internet and Microsoft Office. I haven't used any software such as SolidWorks or Autocad as I don't think this machine would handle them well (what you expect for <$500), but it does everything else as it should. It has been reliable and handles basic computer tasks very well.
