Beautiful machine! Powerful enough for any typical home related work with text or photos. Screen is just a little larger than the 14” I was used to, but it makes it easier to read or wlrk with multiple images.

My Samsung Chromebook crapped the bed less than 6 months after getting it (wifi card would no longer work). Decided to get a cheaper Chromebook. This serves my purposes. Not as flashy or lightweight as my previous one, but it surpasses in other ways. I can go longer without having to plug in and charge the battery. I actually didnt realize until after I'd already submitted my order that it had a 10-key, which comes in handy. Typing is a breeze. The touchpad and cursor are not possessed with a mind of their own. I really wish I had purchased this one the first time around and saved money for better performance.

Fantastic laptop! Fastest chromebook I have ever owned. I really like all aspects about this chromebook including the keyboard-the number keypad is a plus- and the mouse is very good as well. I wasn't crazy how big it was but once I started to use it, I realized having a big screen for multitasking like a big screen was a plus. I would highly recommend this Chromebook to anyone who needed something for simply browsing, or anything Google apps. I was also able to use microsoft office on it since i have office 365. While I only have had it for a few days, I have used it heavily the first few days for work, schooling and personal aspects.

Pros:
- nice screen
- fast and responsive
Cons:
- a bit heavier than I'd like
- adding the numeric keypad to the keyboard means the keys are all shifted over to the left, so it's hard to switch back and forth between this laptop and others without the keypad. I would have preferred the keyboard be centered without a keypad.

I dont usually write reviews for items I purchase, but I needed to make an exception for this one. I was in the market for a new laptop a couple months ago and the search began. I started reading reviews and watching several videos on what were the top laptops as I wanted to make sure my purchase got me the best bang for my buck. I realized during my search that a chromebook might be a valid option for me, seeing as my main uses were browsing, checking emails, the basics. Once I noticed I rarely left my chrome browser the light bulb went off and chromebooks were on my radar. I stumbled on to chrome unboxed and quickly digested all the available information at my disposal(which I have to say is fantastic). Just recently I got the notification of the Asus CX5 unboxing on youtube and after seeing how well the new 11th Gen Intel chip was performing it seemed like a no brainer for the price. My one concern was the trackpad issues that have been noted on multiple reviews. Well I have to say I must have got lucky or the issues that some are having are in the minority because my trackpad is working flawless. I have to say im extremely satisfied with the speed, the screen is perfect and trackpad has been not an issue at all. I highly reccomend the Asus CX5 for anyone on the fence maybe because of other negative reviews. I know im just one experience but I felt with only 3 reviews, I needed to post what I have sitting in front of me.

Is a good computer , it feels premium in all the hardware , it start and drives super fast , and gives a pretty nice experience, the only bad thing in my opinion is that if you want to copy your photos, music o videos from your phone , is kind of slow.

It is a lot bigger than my last chromebook which was still running fine but updates were going to be stopped for it so I decided it was time to upgrade. The first one of the ASUS I got was defective in that the keyboard would not work for almost 5 minutes after turning the computer on. It was weird in that the touch screen worked, but the keyboard would not activate. Then when it reached close to 5 minutes the keyboard would suddenly activate. Luckily Best Buy easily swapped it out for a new one. The new one works much better although it still seems to have a glitch where the screen will randomly flash black. It does not do it often or on a consistent basis but it still makes me worry that this one will not last the 5 or so years my other one did. Overall though the screen is huge, the keyboard lights up when typing which helps when you are working in low light. I use it for educational purposes and have no issues with speed.

This is the first Chrome Book that I purchased for my parent to use. They love it. It is a fast, clear screen and is very simple to use for their daily uses.
I am receiving a warranty extension from ASUS for my feedback.
ASUS's program is very nice to extend your coverage for another 90 days which is a great deal.
Recommended this product for anyone looking for a simple computer for daily uses.

This is my first Chromebook and second ASUS product. I like the larger clear screen and quickness of the hardware. I installed Linux alone with Chrome and Android apps, so I don't miss using Windows 11. I love how the OS starts up quickly and everything works without waiting. I can use my Chromebook to make videos and for picture editing without major issues due to the better specs vs other lower end Chromebooks. Tablet mode is excellent and allows me to use the device for watching videos and movies while it's in tent mode vs using a TV. It is larger and is not sold as a portable toss and go device and for me it stays in the house. I have tablets for toss and go.

Asus 535 flip5 Chromebook

I bought this to upgrade from my previous flip3 chromebook. The version 6 wifi works great compared to the flip3. And the 15.6 display is much better than the 14 on the flip3. I primarily use them both for watching streaming content and playing Raid shadow legends RPG. There are a few more differences. The power on/off button on the flip3 stuck out far enough to shut down the 3. They recessed it more on the 5. And lastly the external storage slot on the 5 is more accommodating. It allows memory card to insert far enough so you don't accidentally eject the memory card during use. Those are two of the best improvements in my opinion. I was frequently turning off and ejecting the flip3s the way it was configured if i put the device on its sides.
All in all this is q very solid entry for Asus over my previous chromebook, it doesn't hurt that its powered by an i3 intel CPU either. I love the responsiveness as well as the increased internal storage and the included GPU.
It does everything I need it to and more. Im very happy with my purchase.

This is the best Chromebook I've owned so far. I will probably never use half of what this Chromebook is capable of but, so far, I'm enjoying it very much. The reason I bought this was primarily for the speakers and, of course, I really appreciate the quick performance of the new 11th Generation Core i3 processor. The brightness of the screen is fine with me but then I don't take my computer outside. And the plastic bottom is so firm that you don't even notice that it's not metal. I really enjoy typing on it and the number pad is a plus and easy to use. Since I don't rest my palm while typing, I think the obsidian black material is great feeling when I do rest the palm. The final thing is that Best Buy was the only place to get this device as early as I got it. Best Buy is #1 for getting it first. A thank you to Chrome Unboxed for letting me know about it!

Great Chromebook but scaling issues

It is a good Chromebook. Even very good considering the price. Yes, it is heavy and a bit plasticky, but the specs are great. Again, for this price it is bargain. And chrome OS is very mature now. But there is one annoying thing that forced me to return it, scaling problem. When connected to my 2K monitor all navigation elements are too small. And if you try to change the scaling the OS elements become better but the content (like content of the browser window, or inside of applications) becomes blurry. Super annoying and it seems there is no solution for it so far.
But for someone who only uses it as it is, without external display, it is a very nice Chromebook. Screen quality is good and the speakers are good enough for media consumption

Coming from a six year old Chromebook, this is amazing. Good screen, super fast, great battery but.....
I upgraded because I wanted to have the Chrome Apps feature, meaning, just running apps natively. Well, they run, but what's the point? Almost everything I used, ran in a Phone style application, not optimized for Chrome. Is that Asus' fault? I would say no but, no reason to replace my six year old chromebook if there is little added functionality.
Tlhe hardware is nice, but I had a speaker intermittently go on and off, and the screen would sometimes get Low Res after watching content for prolonged periods of time, which would be remedied with a reboot. Should not have to do that on a chromebook over $500.

Got this to replace my old 2016 chromebook. unreal performance. It just flies it is so fast. Touch screen. Very sturdy build also. Not plastic. Has a full 10 key keyboard also--still a bit smaller than a normal keyboard but it works. Got mine as a open box on sale.

Absolutely love it. I got mine on sale for $439, and it feels like a $1,000 Chromebook. The keyboard is big, backlit and very comfortable to type in. The processor is LIGHTNING fast and there is absolutely nothing I can throw at it that it can't handle. The touchscreen is compatible with a USI stylus which means I can write notes in Google Keep. The only complaint I would mention is that it would be nice if the screen was a bit brighter. And the keyboard picks up fingerprints very easily. Other than that, this laptop is perfect and I absolutely love it.

This ASUS Chromebook is beautiful. I use Google's office suite and apps from The Play Store and online video editors to create and post content, so this Chromebook suits my needs just fine. Posting to social media, browsing the web, streaming, etc - all can be done easily on Chromebook. No lag here. Boot-up times are fast and the OS is snappy. Please note that this is NOT a Windows machine! It runs Chrome OS and is mostly based in the cloud. If you need a beefed up, totally spec'd out machine for gaming, content creation or use specific non-web based software, you should probably look elsewhere.
