Getting use to the touch screen! I have a tendacy to hit the screen when pointing at it and that has interesting effects. I7 processor is fast, wish it has a full 16gig of memory, but it does ok with 12. Tough to find a built in optical drive, and that is the primary reason for this purchase. Not sure if that makes me a dinosaur, but I still have lots of uses for reading snd writing DVDs.

Large hard drive that give me plenty of room to store all my pictures. It changes from a laptop to a tablet effortlessly and I love the touch screen.

Easy touch screen, and the navigation on this computer is very easy to manage. I did get the SSD card put in to make the computer run at top speed.

I like this computer. It is sleek, lightweight and speedy. My only complaint about it - and the reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 - is the location of the power switch. It is in the lower lefthand corner, on the outside edge. The problem I have is that is where I my hands go when I am going to move it, so then I accidentally put it to sleep, which is aggravating.

It is hard to write a thorough review with only a few days experience - especially with a laptop. So far I like mine. The keyboard is crisp, the do-dads are conveniently located. For example, the headphone port is located so that the plug doesn't poke me in the stomach - a major annoyance with my old laptop. Documentation is basically "plug it in and turn it on." Still getting used to Windows 10. Seems okay, but Microsoft assumes too much. I would recommend that you look in the store and make sure it feels right for you. I'm glad I did.

I had to return the first computer I purchased which was the same as the 2nd one I purchased. The screen went black. Returned it to the store, and they gave me a couple of explanations as to why this happened, but when you purchase an item that is supposed to be top rated and pricey, you expect perfection. So I gave this item another try.

My wife loves it. Its got a nice processor, nice display and really a pretty nice laptop. The only thing that prevents this from being a 5 star is that the power switch is on the front left corner and I've bumped it several times when setting up her new laptop. Other than that its an Asus and I've never had any problems with them..

I'm on my 3rd ASUS in about a year. The 1st one I had, the space bar slowly stopped working. It was sent off to be fixed and when I received it back it worked correctly for a couple of weeks and then became intermittent again. Took it back to the Geek Squad where they looked at it and it apparently worked for them, so I took it home. Got it home and space bar was still intermittent. Returned to the Geek Squad, again, where they replaced it because I had their protection plan. The 2nd one I took home worked for a couple of weeks and then would not boot up correctly. Eventually I couldn't get it to come on at all. Back to the Geek Squad I went where they replaced it with my 3rd one. I've had this one for approximately 3 months, and so far no issues. I know you're probably wondering why in the world I would continue to replace it with the same one....it happens to have a couple features that none of the others have. It will fold back completely like a tablet (an option I need), it's one of the few, if not the only one, that still has a cd drive and.....the Best Buy sales people keep telling me it's the best one and has the least number of repairs.....Hmmmmm.....that's why the jury's still out.

    Avoid ASUS as a brand

I purchased this laptop and not very long after I started having alerts pop up notifying me about an issue with the graphics when I was viewing web pages but I was able to find a relatively easy fix for that on google. 5 months down the road though my computer is not functional so I do what any insane person would do and I take it to Geek Squad to have them look at it because I also purchased the 3 year insurance for 350 more dollars. Well it turns out all they could do was visually inspect it and could not determine a cause and because Geek Squad is nothing more than a trumped up virus cleaner they would have to send off the computer which had a window of 10 days to 3 weeks for it to be repaired. I was told I would have to sign a waiver stating I knew and was okay with my computer coming back factory reset OR because I had already paid 350 bucks for the protection plan I could create a save point in their store for the low low price of 80 dollars so I chose option 3. I told them to give me my computer back and to cancel my geek squad protection and give me a refund for services not rendered which ended up being 300 bucks because they pro rated. I took this laptop to an actual computer store who diagnosed it within 2 hours and traced the problem back to the GPU (graphics card) and informed me that this is a nice laptop with an i7 processor on it which was soldered onto the motherboard which ALSO had the GPU attached and so to fix my problem I would have to spend about 550 bucks to replace the entire motherboard. Being 5 months old they agreed I needed to contact ASUS about warranty work and so I did. They informed me they DO NOT ship postal boxes for items to be returned so I'm going to have to pay shipping and provide insurance for this laptop to be returned to them so they can hopefully fix the issue. All in all the laptop was $1000, the $50 bucks wasted with geek squad, the $50 paid to the computer store for diagnosing the problem, and who knows how much I'm going to have to pay for shipping. Plus the battery on this thing is HORRIBLE and I will literally have to have it on charge at all times. Even on battery saver mode the battery only last 2 hours. I turn this laptop off when I leave work and the next day when I open it back up the battery is already at 50%. I looked up issues on laptops involving the caps lock key being stuck on and the forum threads that popped up all related to ASUS and the insane amount of hardware issues they have. I also own a Lenova Yoga 3 and this computer compared to the ASUS is a godsend so my recommendation is to avoid ASUS as a brand because their quality control seems nonexistent and then the customer service is definitely lacking.
