Poor performance out of the box

But after running all the necessary updates out of the box, it stalled constantly at start up, applications lagged for up to 10 minutes, and some functions just plain didn't work. BB said I needed to buy support from Geek Squad to fix, which I did, but that only brought the issues from slow to medium. This computer operates slower than my 7 year old work laptop! Disappointed, I asked about return options and was told that they would not take it back. I don't really have another $1,000 to throw away, so I'm stuck with this lemon.

I do understand your disappointment if you are experiencing slow system speed or performance with the laptop. This issue is temporary during the initial WINDOWS setup and before installing cumulative WINDOWS Update, regardless what brand name of computer this may be. This may take a longer time depending on the network traffic from the update server and the stability of your high-speed internet service. Also, laptop will do several system reboot, black screen temporarily or restart during the update process. Once initial setup and WINDOWS Update installation completed, system speed or performance will be optimized. In order to maintain optimum system stability and performance, cumulative WINDOWS Update needs to be installed periodically. If you are accessing web applications, please make sure the unit has access to an established router and internet service is working properly since this will definitely affect system speed and performance. Also, clearing internet cache or browsing history will improve system performance. If you need further assistance, please email me at [email protected] and I would be happy to help.

It is the best laptop of the many I have owned. The best part is that I replaced the 2TB SATA hard drive with a Samsung 1TB SATA Solid State Drive. The laptop boots within seconds and restarts just as quickly when requested. The 2TB drive is now an external hard drive in the case I bought for it. I'd buy another one of these laptops today if it was available again for the same price I paid. I like everything about it.
