Overall a very impressive machine! The touchscreen is a fun change, and particularly handy in tent mode. Only complaint is that the right hand side bar pops up far too easily so is often an impediment to speed of use, but hard to know if that's a software flaw (Windows 8) or hardware. Fortunately a new OS should be out soon!

This device has several positives that have been mentioned in other reviews but after having this for over a month now I would like to point out some of the deficiencies. The letter/symbols on the keyboard keys can be difficult to read at times due to the way they light up, Only the actual letters/symbols illuminate versus the entire key and that has been frustrating when looking for specific keys at times. The device does not wake up fast so you can resume whatever you were working on if you are away from it for too long (Although this may be something that can be fixed in power management settings). There was a mini plug in sub woofer that was included that I have not been able to get to work and I have not been able to find any resources online that advise on how to get it to work either. The thing that disappointed me the most however was that fact that while it came with a DVD drive (and most devices like this do no include them any more) it does not appear to work or be able to play anything other than as a way to install the free Security software that came as part of the purchase. I had read about this issue in other reviews but it appeared that there was a software solution of some kind but I have not been able to find one that works so the drive is basically useless. Considering the fact that this device had an actual disk drive and that this reality was one of the main reasons I chose it over comparable devices I am very unsatisfied and feel I paid too much despite the fact that it was on sales.

I love this laptop. It is very easy to use. I have always been mouse dependent and with the touch screen I have found I don't need to use the mouse as much. When I was looking for a new laptop I spoke with a sales representative at Best Buy and he was very helpful with determining what was the best laptop for my needs.

Student was looking for a sturdy dependable laptop for his college school work and gaming. Nailed it! Our last Asus laptop got our older son through five years of college. Hoping this one will do the same.

There is absolutely no other choice when it comes to reliable components, mother board, and performance. Asus made a highly portable, tough 2 in 1 that can play any game out on high graphic settings. That, coupled with replacing my optical drive with an ssd, and a gaming ram upgrade, makes this computer a boheomoth.

Great computer for the price. Picked it up on sale for $699, and it is worth well more than that. Only complaint was the slow speed of the HDD. Switched it out to a 500GB SDD and put the 1TB in an enclosure for an external. It's lightning fast now!

This is a very nicely built laptop. Very handy to have the flip function and the touch screen. Works great with Windows 8.1 and plan to upgrade it to Windows 10 as soon as possible. GeForce 840M seems to handle most games that my family plays fine, though we are not generally running newer AAA titles on it.

I use this laptop as a desktop replacement. Big screen with excellent resolution and colors, great performance, huge storage. No this is not a lightweight but its slim design fits great in any laptop bag or backpack I own. Photography is my hobby and this readily keeps up with my picture editing.

this laptop has tons of storage space, an excellent buy for gamers, perfect for nerds who need something beefy. ASUS runs very smoothly, very quietly and i've had NO problems with it over heating, stays cool.... because it is cool.

This laptop is amazing! The touchscreen features make playing games mind-blowing to play. My only concern was that my laptop upgraded to windows 10 and stuff stopped working, but I got protection on it so, geek squad fixed it pretty quick! I picked it up the next day actually!

Liked my first one so much, I bought another one for my girls to use. They love the touchscreen. The keys are a bit stiffer than I'd like, but it runs like a dream.

His main needs are for homework and games. I was looking for a computer with a good processor and a good video card that would last him a few years. This has not been a disappointment.

Absolutely love this computer and all the features it offers. The touch screen is so convenient and I love the big hard drive. I have not been disappointed at all. Loved it so much I went back and helped my mom pick out one just like it for her.

I love this laptop, the 2 in 1 feature is awesome. It's fast, HD, light enough for me to carry in my backpack for school, and the graphics card is great for me being an animation major.

I'm sure the computer is fine as Asus makes really nice stuff (have other products of theirs),. I just detest glossy screens. Therefore, I took it back. Much prefer the anti-glare displays, but, hard to find in the touch screen version. Apple does it with their ipads nowadays. I wish more manufacturers would put it in their specs so we'd know before ordering. Can't knock it too much for this, but, because of that, I won't recommend it unless someone is looking specifically for a nice laptop with a glossy screen!

I was looking for a laptop to start college off with (ergo within budget) while still hopefully being able to run some dope video games. I thankfully found a great deal on this one here and it has served me wonderfully.

Great computer, I have been looking for a long time. Has enough memory and all the bells and whistles. Great price because newer model really the same but more expensive. I bought this to replace pc and it's perfect for us

Everything is great about this platform. Touch screen works like a champ and is crisp and clear. the touch pad is one of the few that I can use without getting frustrated.

Simple set-up, very nice to use, keys aren't as bright as I would want them to be for being backlit but otherwise, well worth the price. I was deciding between this and a gaming laptop and this fits the bill for my needs.
