Customers praise the 24" LED FHD Monitor's picture quality, refresh rate, and its suitability for gaming. Many also appreciate the monitor's price and vibrant colors, along with its ease of setup and use. However, some users express dissatisfaction with the built-in speakers. A few reports mention issues with the lack of an HDMI cable or the presence of dead pixels, though these seem to be less frequent concerns.

After consulting with some friends I finally decided on spending the extra money for a 144hz monitor for gaming. I really enjoy this monitor, it's sleek and bright, plus it doesn't take up a lot of space on my desk and I can adjust the height easily. The audio quality of the speakers is a little less than desired, but I usually wear a headset when playing games or listening to music, the speakers are mostly for watching videos. Overall the price is pretty good for what you're getting. I get smooth gameplay, no more tearing. Nice, bright, clear picture.

First let me just say that I was surprised to find this monitor being sold at my local Best Buy store. Perfect reason to spend my $100 gift card and they even matched NewEggs price!
Now onto the monitor:
I wanted a monitor that would fit my desk so 27" is out of the question. This 24" fits perfectly and I dont mind the TN 2k (1920x1080) resolution. I know 4k is all the rage but you better have a hefty rig to push the kind of frames you need to take advantage of high refresh rates. The monitor is beautiful inside and out. The stand allows the monitor to tilt, move up/down and portrait/landscape. ASUS also has a wonderful 3-yr warranty with rapid exchange. Dont bother with garbage from Acer or BenQ.
Performance
This thing is awesome! The colors are way better than most IPS snobs would lead you to believe. You can download color profiles online from reddit (google search) which is the real key here as the stock settings will only go so far. Add to that the super fast response times along with 144hz refresh and you have a real winner. People that game @ 60hz have no idea what they are missing out on. I dont think you will find a better monitor for under $300 with such a superb warranty.

After seven years, one of my monitors had begun to fail and after some searching, I came across these ASUS monitors. I was hesitant at first because I didn't know anything about ASUS monitors, but the Best Buy rep assured me that unless I was going for super high-end, these would not disappoint. After limping along with one failing monitor, I was able to score these on black Friday at a whopping $179 each, way below my budget.
Many others have noted that the colors are a bit "off" out of the box, but some fine tuning of color controls and you get some stunning picture quality. I myself have also made use of nVidia's control panel to further adjust the colors to something more close to what they should be. ASUS boasts the ability to use these monitors in any position you want, however they are stretching the truth just a bit since these monitors are not IPS. Turning them on their sides in vertical view gives you washed out and inverted colors. It's not terrible, if you're just using Excel or Word, you should be fine, but for someone like me doing graphics work, having any kind of incorrect colors is a bad thing. The quality is both clear and crisp. While not 4K, stepping up from seven year old LED monitors gives me a nice view of how badly everything looks on the internet due to lousy camera phone quality. Low-res video will also seem more pixelated just because everything is just so much clearer.
While not IPS, the screens do have a decent range so you can view them at fairly angled positions. You begin to notice whites turning yellow as you get beyond 35-45 degree angles. Blacks could be a lot more black, they do suffer from some slight washout of the back lights, but only noticeable if you have a black background like me or during system boots.
The monitors support 144Hz refresh rates, but can be adjusted lower, suiting your own personal needs. Currently, with dual monitors, my GTX970 does not support anything higher than 60Hz on a second monitor, regardless if it is plugged into the Display Port or HDMI. The GTX970 doesn't come with two DVI ports, I cannot test if it's the card or the software. However, since my gaming and most movies are shown on my main monitor running 144Hz, this was not a deal breaker. However, the second monitor plugged into the Display Port does give some extra/advanced color and visual options that do not show up in DVI or HDMI under nVidia's control panel. I believe these are if you are running the monitor as a TV.
The 1ms response time is also very nice, my old monitors were 2ms (not bad for seven years old). There is an option to change the amount of "tracing" you get when things move across the screen, I notice on older games like WoW, this affects it in a negative way, so I leave it down on the factory setting of 60. There are other options I haven't even played with yet, there's all sorts of them, I would recommend doing some research on them if you get these.
I have not tested the speakers with these monitors, but other reviews do make mention of them. They are not on the sides or bottom, rather behind the monitor facing left and right. What I am most glad for is not only having the audio in for using the speakers, but you also have an audio out for headphones. I run a Bluray player through HDMI on one monitor with headphones out the other side.
Both my monitors are hanging on a dual arm monitor stand. It's a bit on the cheaper side, but even with these monitors being a bit heftier than what I'm used to, the stand seems to support them just fine. You don't have the bulky power blocks, everything is built into the monitor.
Overall, if you have a chance to get these before they are discontinued, you won't be disappointed. They have very nice feature, nice quality and are easier on the wallet than some other monitors with similar features.

I researched many monitors before deciding on this ASUS. For the price, you can't beat it when compared to other monitors that are in similar price range but have 4ms or higher.
With the ASUS you get 1ms response time gtg, and 144hz ( PC Gamers ). The only other monitor that comes close and some would say is better would be the BenQ ZOWIE 27" RL2755 Console Monitor. I am very satisfied with the ASUS and is ready to plug and play straight out of the box. It has a multitude of options to get the picture contrast to your liking. The sound is sufficient for most, but if your looking for theater sound out of the ASUS monitor you should invest in a pair of BOSE speakers or a headset like most serious gamers. The rear vertical stand serves very well as a headset place holder even though I don't believe that is what it is intended for. The monitor pivots and swivels, raises and lowers which makes it easy to set up when different users are using it. ( taller or shorter users )
It has multiple options on the menu screen that allow you to make subtle changes or drastic ones that fit your play style. The price for this monitor is not at all astronomical when compared to other monitors on the market that have similar features. It's well worth the money. Even a casual gamer can appreciate the benefits that this monitor offers.
I would definitely purchase again and would recommend it.
If your debating on which monitor to purchase for your console gaming or for your PC gaming ( 144hz ) this is one of the best monitors available for the $250-$350 price range ( BenQ being the other ). More serious PC Gamers looking for a monitor that can take advantage of their rigs hi-tech applications probably will look elsewhere but the price range raises dramatically. The sky is the limit on how much your looking to spend when it comes to monitors.
The Casual, even serious gamer looking to upgrade to a better monitor ( stay away from tv's ) should definitely look at this ASUS. You won't be disappointed.

I picked this monitor up for $200 around Black Friday. The 144hz refresh rate is absolutely wonderful, especially when it comes to gaming! The picture quality is excellent at 1080p, and significantly cheaper than the 2k or 4K monitors out there. Also, the adjustability of the monitor is very satisfying. The built in speakers are not the best quality, but I didn't buy this monitor for its speaker, and external speakers would be needed if your looking for decent sound quality if you're gaming, playing music, or watching videos. All in all, I'm pleased with this monitor!

For me, the colors of the TN panel look fine to me. Everything is nice from the 1080p resolution, 144hz, and flexibility. Some minor problems so far...DisplayPort doesn't work me me - don't know if it's a graphics card issue or need some further adjustments in the computer/monitor. I also think there is 1 dead pixel...only like a week after use.

This was a Black Friday buy .. and at >$100 off this was a STEAL!
These are 1ms, 144-Hz monitors ... great for gaming. My son and I put one each on our systems as our primary monitor for gaming. So far so good, and even the boy was able to install it without crossing his fingers! (LOL)
We are seeing flicker free, ready to go action as soon as they were installed. They are brighter than our older screens (only 3 years old).
By the way, there is another ASUS monitor they sell that is 2ms, 75-Hz. This is not a comparable product, and don't let the sales people (especially the seasonal ones) try to convince you otherwise.
Recommended.

If you want better results while gaming online BUY THIS NOW! For years I have played online FPS games and have tried to gain any competitive advantage I could. My obsession with finding the best hardware has intensified and I have literally tried everything over the years from gonzo dual GPU 1000 watt monster PC's with 3 monitors, to 21:9 displays, and 4K. Yet nothing I did made any significant difference. There was one last thing I had never tried a 144Hz monitor.
I can now say that a monitor with a refresh rate over 60Hz, in my case a 144Hz monitor is the single most significant piece or hardware you can buy and what I was missing all along. My rounds and melee attacks now land first when confronting another player far more often than before. Sure there will always be people faster and more skilled than me who still dominate me in a game yet that has gone from over half the players on a server to handful. Instead of ranking in the bottom %50 of the scores I now am among the top %10-25 nearly every round.
No other upgrade has done anything like this, not dual GTX 660ti's, dual R9 290x's or my current single GTX 970. Not a Samsung 850 Pro SSD, not an i7 4770K or my current i5 6600K have made any major difference while this monitor has!
Whats most amazing is the general feel of smoothness and control I have over the character on the screen. Everything is so fluid and natural feeling compared to any other setup I have ran. Recently this has included a Samsung 28 inch 4k at 60Hz, an LG 24 inch at 60HZ, an LG 29 inch 21:9 at 60Hz, and even a Vizio 43 inch 4k TV at 60Hz over HDMI 2.0.
The only complaint I have with this monitor is that the color is not as good as as the Samsung 28 inch and not nearly as good as the IPS panels I had grown accustomed to on the IPS LG 21:9 and the Vizio TV. Simply put this is a performance gaming monitor and it is affordable, if you are buying it for that purpose and do not have 600+ dollars to spend on a higher resolution 144Hz display you will not be disappointed one bit!

Purchased 2 of these monitors for gaming. Excellent responce time and crisp graphics. Price was excellent since I bought them during black Friday sale. This monitor has higher than average refresh rate, 144 Hz. The only complain I have is build in speakers could be better. Very poor sound, but didn’t care much because I’m using gaming headsets. Overall very satisfied, if you are looking for gaming monitor this is the item you want to buy. Highly recommend.

Bought this monitor because I've been using the same, old, small monitor for about 10 years, and I was looking to get into streaming along with just having a more enjoyable experience while gaming on my PC. I am glad I went with this monitor, the picture quality is probably the best I've ever seen on a PC monitor, and it really enhances the look of my games. Definitely recommend to anyone who's looking to upgrade their monitor, and you really can't ask for a better price.

I am loving every bit of this monitor the colors are great for a TN panel and the refresh rate of 144hz is awesome gets rid screen tears of fps above 60 frames in the games I play. I have this paired with a vx248h monitor and it absolutely demolishes it in colors. Will definitely be grabbing another one or two when money permits to finish everything up on my rig.

I use it for Xbox One. Games look great. Colors are rich and contrast performs well once dialed in. Transition from dark to light isn't blinding or washed out. No blurring it's super crisp. Even though it's a monitor it does have stereo speakers. Not great speakers but it's nice to still have some audio if I don't have my headset on. It would be cool to have 2 HDMI ports but for the price point no complaints.

I read many reviews, some negative and some positive. I was in the fence for many reasons. I heard the color was and issue and the viewing angles. Let me tell you the reality.
The color is not an issue as long as you know how to adjust it and you download certain presets. Along with that, there are multiple modes that adjust the color and tone, easily. For me even out of the box, color was not an issue.
For the viewing angles, they aren't as exaggerated as people made them out to be.
I sit at a reasonable angle and still get no color bleed or fade. I would have to be sitting 45 degrees to my screen to see anything.
Another point, the 144hz is incredible. I have never seen something so incredibly smooth. It is worth the experience. It makes you a better gamer and it's easier on the eyes.

The price of this monitor, considering it's bright screen and refresh rate, is unreal. I would say that it is one of the best I have owned. It is not 4K, but I am not interested in overtaxing my computer for diminishing returns. A must buy.

After a lot of researching and some gamer friends opinion, this was my best option for a "Gaming Monitor", it has 144hz refresh rate, impossible to afford in any other monitor, because the price is over $400. It has a great quality for this price. Loving it....

Cannot say how much of an improvement this is for gaming
You will never go back to a 60hz monitor after seeing how crisp everything is at 144hz, use it mostly for PC gaming but still run Xbox on it (obviously at 60hz) and runs great !

I love this monitor! I was using a 32in Samsung tv prior for my pc gaming. I never had a monitor that was over 60hz refresh rate I don't believe I'll ever go back to a non gaming monitor. I snagged it on black Friday for 170
