My first monitor after moving from a 2011 gaming laptop and I must say I am satisfied. Saw it displayed at a best buy location and saw it had everything that I wanted in a gaming monitor. On top of that I got it for an awesome price during Black Friday.

Was purchased on sale for $180. For under $200, can't complain about having a 144Hz monitor. They really do live up to the hype. Took about ten minutes of research on google and reddit to find the correct color settings. A mix of montior and icc profile tweaks and it looks great. Make sure to let monitor run for about half hour on initial setup before changing color settings since out of the box everything is really washed out.

I bought this monitor primarily for console gaming. I wanted a monitor with low input lag and high response time and refresh rate. I mostly play FPS games so having a quick response time and low input lag is very important to me. I have been using this monitor for a couple of months now and I am very pleased with it. The picture is beautiful, and the monitor only required minor tweaking out of the box for the optimal picture settings. Colors are not washed out and are represented nicely. The LED back-lighting makes colors "pop". Aesthetically, this monitor is gorgeous. The cable management on the back of the stand is Ferrari red and the rest of the monitor is black. Overall, I am very happy with this monitor. It is exactly what I needed for gaming. I also have my computer hooked up to this monitor via the DVI input (PS4 is using the HDMI); switching between the two inputs is easy as there is a "source" button. There is a slight 3-4 seconds lag between switching inputs, but this doesn't bother me. My only complaint with this monitor has to do with the speakers. Even at 100% volume, the speakers are relatively quiet. Though I didn't buy this monitor for its speaker quality, it would have been nice to have a more powerful set of speakers. Also, there is no dedicated volume buttons, so adjusting the volume quickly is not an option. You need to enter the on-screen menu and navigate to the volume controls. Having dedicated volume buttons would have been a nice feature to have. I use a set of Klipsch Pro Media 2.1 for my computer and Skullcandy Plyr 1 for gaming, so my volume is always turned off anyway. I played around a little with the on-screen reticle overlay. It was a neat feature to have, but not something I plan on using. It was neat playing Ghosts and having the reticle on-screen allowing me to open-scope and hip-fire accurately. Also, the on-screen timer is kinda neat; this is something I will use now and again. If you are looking for an incredibly fast, low input lag, high refresh rate monitor, you really can't go wrong with this. I would not suggest using this as a primary TV though simply because of the quiet speakers and lack of volume buttons.

Got this beauty on a great sale, and it's been a revelation. Upgrading from 60hz refresh rate on my old monitor to the 144hz on this one has been great for gaming. Colors are bright and vibrant (after some configuration). Would definitely recommend.

Absolutely love this monitor. A Best Buy associate who was assisting me with a purchase on Black Friday had explained the specs to me (I know nothing about computers!) and thought it would be a perfect fit for my new computer. After reviewing a few other monitors I rushed back to Best Buy to get it. I'm not really tech savy, so my husband set it up and played with the settings. I must say it looks amazing! I love how bright the colors are and it makes things look clear. Looking forward to finally playing Overwatch with this! After working on papers and projects for school of course. I would definitely recommend purchasing this. Most of my gamer friends/family said it's a great monitor! I like how it's adjustable and I found out it can rotate too! My ASUS laptop is still surviving after several years, so I hope this monitor will too!

Actually purchased this same monitor a couple of years back or so and back then they costed around $769.99 being it was so costly I exchanged it for a CPU and Mobo, then I bought a close second in stats to this one. Either way I now have purchased it at a much lower cost and I couldn't be happier! Colors and edges are perfect! Response times are amazing and there is no tearing at all! It's gotten to a point where I can see tearing in a 2ms monitor and it's sad. For the money I would say if you are a gamer and want a great display then buy this one because you can't go wrong! BUY IT!

Had to mail order them because everybody wants them. That's because they are as good or better than the reviews say. Great picture, but doing 144 refresh might require a new display port or DVI cable. One of my old DVI cables will only support 60, but still looks great. Solid sturdy base, good screen adjustments even for tall people like me. The only minor drawback is the speakers. No audio quality sound and the volume is limited. With two monitors there is no easy way to set all the left channel sound to one monitor and the right channel to the other monitor.

For the price, this 144hz 1ms 24" 3d ready monitor is considered one of the best on the market for the price. Color continuity is an issue if you view from an angle, but why would you even do that?

My son purchased this and I can’t tear him away from his computer now. He games a lot and if you need a reasonably priced monitor with a very high refresh rate this fits the bill. Also can’t go wrong with ASUS they make great stuff!

Researched new monitors when my current one was failing. This one stood out among others so I gave it a shot. It has an awesome display quality and I got it at a nice pre-Black Friday price! Could not be happier with this purchase!

Bought this one as my first gaming monitor. After a couple games it was an easy adjustment to size. It is smooth crisp clear. Only downside is it change sound you have to toggle menu. But I will be buying the 4K version shortly.

Ive gone through numerous monitors over the past month. Couldn't decide on exactly what I wanted or needed. I game, not a lot, but I do. Recently I upgraded my video card to push more frames per second (FPS) and coming from my first 8ms basic ACER 20" monitor I kept upgrading. AOC 23.6" IPS 5ms, and then i saw this one (as i purchased my AOC IPS monitor. The AOC was beautiful, but this ASUS has built in speakers (not very good but something) is 144hz, 1MS response time has Display Port (DP), HDMI (for console gaming as HDMI is ONLY 60hz max, highly recommend not using it for pc gaming) and DVI (if you don't have a DP cable handy). 24" gives you plenty of realestate for desktop applications, 1080 is honestly all anyone needs today for gaming. 4K would be too taxing and not many games support it. Price is a little steep, but you get what you pay for. I've been very happy with the quality and build. You do need to modify the color/brightness settings because it looks washed out and bright off the start, but a few minutes of settings changes and its easily rectified. Nothing to not like besides the price.

On an impulse went to the local Best Buy,Realized it was "Black Friday". I had been researching a gaming monitor,the 144 hertz variety. Spotted the ASUS VG 248 FOR $169 !. Very happy with this purchase and saved $100.

For years, I have used many monitors in the past with a refresh rate of 60 to 85 Hz, and I have to say 144 Hz is definitely worth the extra money, especially if you are going to use the monitor for gaming. ASUS is an outstanding brand with a 3 year warranty. This model has been recommended by respected reviewers. Best Buy had the best price on this model for its Black Friday in July Sale. I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend this monitor be on the short list for anyone looking for a new display!

This is the first gaming monitor I have ever bought, and there is definitely quite a difference between my 6 year old 24" lcd and this one! The faster refresh rate makes things look so much better! would recommend!

This monitor gives you the feeling of playing like a pro. The color quality and visual clarity of this 144hz monitor is a great combination for playing games, watching movies, and your everyday internet use. Great value and a smart buy.

I can tell a big difference from.my old Asus monitor to this one. I finally match the refresh rate of my game to 144hz and it's amazing. It's so much smoother and I'm doing alot better in my competitive match.

Simple and straight forward. Really good response 144hz and gaming settings. Looking for better game play pick this up. No need for the over price gsync especially if you have a gpu that can push out the FPS

This is my first time using a 144Hz monitor. I had been using an old standard 60hz 1080p monitor that started to give me issues(blown capacitors, took 10 minutes to power on) I don't have a super powerful PC, but the difference is still noticeable. Once you set your game settings to 144Hz, the graphics become almost fluid like. I never imagined that you could notice anything over 60Hz but the difference is huge. You can also notice the improvement on your desktop depending on your settings. The LED back lighting keeps things bright. It's way too bright for night time use, but there's an easy setting to change in the monitor's menu. I haven't used the speakers, but it has some and it comes with an audio cable if you're using a DVI connection. The only downside of this monitor is that it isn't an IPS monitor and that means you will notice some color shifting around the far edges depending on your viewing position. This isn't an issue with gaming, but it isn't ideal if you do photo/video editing on the side. I'm not sure if this would be ideal for movie watching either. There are IPS 144hz gaming monitors out there, but they will cost you a pretty penny.
