I was looking for a low priced IPS monitor which was large for my spreadsheet work and decent color quality for my wife's photography work. This one fit the bill at a great price point. I kept my expectations in line with the price and I was not disappointed. The color was much better than my expensive laptop and gives me plenty of room for multiple screens. I have not yet needed to calibrate the monitor. As expected the built-in speakers are not up to the task, but otherwise this is a good monitor for the price.

I decided to buy this monitor to play my xbox one on and also general computer use. So far I can say that this is well worth the investment. It has great response time, great color, and is very easy on the eyes. Overall, I am very happy with this monitor and would recommend anyone who is looking at this monitor to buy one.

Setup was a breeze, and the picture quality is excellent for tv, and for gaming purposes. Would be next level if it had a remote for volume and what not, especially since the buttons on the bottom corner are strange. Overall great since it has two hdmi ports and looks very crisp!

This monitor is awesome it has nice colors and is very bright. The screen is huge and very nice its non glare so you can put it next to a window and not get a reflection.

I purchased this monitor about 6 weeks ago and from the moment I plugged it in I was in love with it. I have always been a Samsung guy, I'd had the same two Samsung monitors for years but finally the smaller one gave out (purchased in 2008) and I had to look for another. A friend mentioned that he really liked his Asus monitor and while I was in the store I checked this one out. It was, in my opinion, superior in picture to similar Samsung models and was cheaper... How could I say no? I will likely purchase another one of these and put my Samsung in another room...

This monitor is amazing! I love the color and the response time. The design is absolutely beautiful, especially with an ASUS laptop.

The monitor is outstanding. The display has clear crisp colors and no problems of any type. All pixels are good. The built in amplifier and speakers are just fine (these are not the ultimate desktop speakers, but for what they are - they are quite good). The monitor was simple plug and play, it did not require any fancy software download to use it. The monitor adjustment buttons are on the bottom edge and are touch sensitive. I have inadvertently made contact with the buttons while picking something up that is under the monitor which launches the monitor menu, no big problem but you then have to touch more buttons to close the menu. The overall appearance of the monitor with stand is also a notable feature - it is very attractive. If I was in the market for a monitor I would buy this again.

Excellent monitor for screen size and price. I use this for my home office and it is great. Fits well on the desk, doesn't require a lot of space, and the HDMI connection is really nice. I connect my laptop and then purchased a wireless keyboard and mouse so the setup is perfect and looks really nice. The monitor works with PC or Mac and is also great for gaming. Highly recommend this monitor after extensive research.

I bought the monitor to go with a new ASUS computer. The images are stunning. The internal speakers seem better than I expected, but not as good as external speakers. The documentation for the little control buttons was of no value. I found a manual on line that helps, but still isn't as useful as I wanted. There is no light on the buttons or their labels, so when the room is dark and I want to adjust the volume I need to turn up the lights. If I just touch the wrong button, I still, after a month, struggle to back out and to the correct menu. I should probably learn to adjust volume with the speaker icon on the bottom bar and leave the little buttons alone.

My husband is a producer for music and this was a surprise I purchased for him. I am now the best wife in town. He loves the sleet design of the screen and how easy it was to connect to his mac laptop. Also the screen size is big and perfect. It is a hit! I am thinking of buying him another for a double screen affect.

Looks great and works great. Used mainly for gaming. Have had no picture quality issues running all games on ultra. Internal speakers are good. Great price!

I love this monitor. I have a GTX 970 card, and wanted a good monitor to match. I wanted a 32" wide-screen or bigger display, but they were $499 or higher. I decided to get a good monitor until the wide-screens came down in price. Everyone told me to go with a gaming monitor, but I went for the best picture in the store. The ASUS MX279H had the best picture, and built in sound, but it was higher priced than the others. You get what you pay for though, and Bestbuy had no problem price matching. As a gamer, I don't notice any ghosting, and I play all the latest games. I have a bright, clear, and incredible picture, with colors that just pop. Everyone who comes over to see my newest game is amazed at how great the game looks; they always credit the video card, but the monitor is what gives it that edge. As a developer, I work with a lot of text and precision GUI tools. Text is clear, and doesn't have any of the slight fuzzy/blur effects I've seen in many monitors. Colors don't bleed, and the contrast allows you to distinguish between even slight color variations. Overall, I am very impressed with the ASUS. I only purchased the ASUS as a temporary monitor until the prices came down on the wide-screen. When the LG IPS wide-screen was finally part of a huge sale, it was only $50 more than the ASUS. Instead of getting the LG, I purchased another ASUS MS279H and went dual monitor!

This monitor is a upgrade from my previous IPS monitor from another brand (which was very priced). Like I said, it is an upgrade. The picture quality is so much better and it's hard to tell it's an IPS. I use this big monitor as a TV also and I can view it from all angles (hence I need a IPS). Difference is, I cannot tell it's an IPS during fast game play. I do not see any ghosting or after image during fast game play. I also love the built in speakers...these are a must for me also. The audio is by Bang and Olufsen, and it is mind blowing. The monitor has great features too...great frameless design, great IPS, great audio, and great structure.

I am a college student looking at a career in the film industry and this monitor is just great overall for what I need. I wanted to have a second screen experience and this allows me to hook my computer up as well as my blu-ray player to have a great experience. The only thing I'm not super impressed with is the quality of the built in speakers. I have to max them out to get the sound that I'm looking for, but the color, and size are just great.

I chose this monitor as a replacement for my old one based on size, price, screen type, connections, and, even though there needs to be a separate piece needed for wall or VESA mounting, the ability to be used with stands or mounted. The only bad part of this monitor, is that the speakers are not very good. They sound very muffled and are not very loud. Picture your standard speakers with your hand over them. But if you are running a speaker set for your computer, then I would suggest to continue with them and not even deal with the monitor speakers.

This was possible the best but I made at Best Buy. The quality is amazing and the size is just going great. It's a beautiful monitor that comes with its own built in speakers which aren't that bad. Worth spending money on if you are a gamer

I hesitated buying this because I've never owned a monitor this big, but I cold kick myself for waiting so long. The colors are bright and sharp, and I almost wish we had purchased an even larger one! Setup was simple, the only issue is the location and sensitivity of buttons in the lower right corner. We have bumped them more than once and then had to figure out what we've done to get everything to go back to normal. Kind of annoying, but not something that would cause me to return. Should definitely be redesigned for the next model.

I purchased this monitor with the Asus - Desktop - Intel Core i5 - 8GB Memory - 1TB Hard Drive - Gray to replace my Samsung monitor of the same size. I can not be happier. Rich colors, solid sound for a monitor, easy to use.

This was my second purchase of the same monitor that I had purchased to replace another one that had failed. I was so happy with the color and ease of use (the controls on the other one were hard to deal with) that I decided to replace my second monitor that was still working (so I have a matching set). They are beautiful monitors! Overall very satisfied.

Great screen resolution! Works well with both MacBook Pro and Lenovo X1 Carbon! Considerably thin and well designed! With integrated Bang and Olufsen speaker into the monitor the sound streaming from HDMI is pretty impressive! And it works well as a TV too! I use it both as a Monitor and TV in the kitchen. For the price this is unbeatable!
