The router was very easy to set up as i had an older ASUS and was able to import some settings. I configured new settings as well. The speed is amazing.

Very good wide coverage. Some laptops and IoT devices have trouble staying connected so may need to disable WiFi auto select and disable WiFi 6 feature. Well made router. A little pricey.

Lots of functionality and capability. Way more functional than what I expected, and seems to be quite secure as far as I could tell! Super fast and very responsive!

I bought the RT-AX88U router for the firewall and free parental controls. Netgear charges an annual fee for these same features. The throughput is very good and the generous 8 LAN ports makes it even more desirable. Although it took me a few days of proper configuration to get a stable Internet connection out of this router (as is the case with most ASUS routers), overall I am satisfied with this over the Netgear WIFI6E GTE-AXE11000 (Kylo Ren ship) and the ASUS RT-AX89X.

Great router and firmware. It's a little pricy... but it is a great WIFI 6 router. AIMESH solution works great with my older Asus router as well.

After trying many routers this device by far is tops. Consistent and strong signal. 8 LAN ports eliminates external devices. Just fantastic.

Very good perfomance when you are close to router, much shorter range than Netgear r7000 and r8000 , but better than Verizon G3100.

Range, speed, protection all in one. Did I say range ? No longer needed WiFI extensions and getting high speed. Plus ready for next WiFi generation.

This router is exactly what the standard should be for all wireless routers! 8 LAN ports instead of 4, and the ability to handle a plethora of wireless devices from phones, tablets, and laptops; to TVs, Alexa devices, smart switches, and more! I was using an older generation ASUS wireless router, so the thought of having to re-pair all those devices gave me anxiety. Fortunately by keeping the SSID and password the same, it was plug and play. All the devices reconnected to the new router with no additional changes needed!

I was not in the market for a new router. I just dropped my Dish TV subscription for a streaming service and was getting everything up and running. My router is located in the approximate middle of my ranch-style home. I have my TV in the living room (in the middle of my home) hooked up to an Asus computer which is connected via wi-fi. I was getting a medium signal at my living room TV, with my previous router, and had no issues. However, my kitchen TV was having connectivity issues. It would often disconnect and/ or freeze up. I have a Chromecast with Google TV connected to the TV. My kitchen is on one end of my slightly below average-sized house. My computer room is on the other end of my home and my desktop computer gets the internet through wi-fi. I had no problems with my internet connection on that computer. I thought the connectivity problems with the Chromecast were due to the Chromecast. Then I read online that you should replace your router every five years (seemed excessive). My previous router was purchased by a family member, and I realized that it was probably about 10 years old. The router was compact, with only one small antenna. I was reluctant to upgrade because it fit so nicely on the top of my roll-top desk. However, the Asus RT-AX88U got an excellent review from a computer magazine, so I decided to give it a try. It has a large footprint and four antennas. However, it has a sleek profile. The real estate on top of my roll-top desk is now officially used up by the addition of this router. I decided to point the four antennas more horizontally and it actually does not look too bad. The router has muted gold accents against its black case and that goes well with my decor. In addition, the status lights can be turned off completely if you wish. That is a nice feature if the router is being used in a bedroom or a formal living room. I don't find the lights to be too distracting, so, for now, I am keeping them on. I would have given the Asus five stars, but I had to call customer support to get the router up and running. I hooked my laptop up to the router and followed the setup steps. After I finished, I could not find my network from the list of networks in my area. I called customer support and they had me go through the setup steps one more time, and that worked. My living room TV is now getting a strong internet signal. And my kitchen TV no longer has connectivity problems. I am so glad that I upgraded to the Asus RT-AX88U. The router has been on the market now for some time. My only regret is that I did not upgrade sooner.

Bought this to replace my AC88U, so far I’m impressed! Stronger signal and faster than my AC88U!

Best WiFi router I have owned. Great range and speed. I used to have to reset my old router all the time. This one I never do.

Always been a fan of ASUS routers, this one does it all, long range and best performance to date! Not disappointed at all!!

The best part of this router is the number of ports this includes. Not a lot of routers have a lot of ethernet ports, and this has plenty. I also like that this router is supported by Merlin if you ever want to tinker with the UI and try experimental features, but the software that the router comes with is enough for my use. This is a good router that will future proof your network for years to come. Even though 6E is around the corner, a lot of our devices don't even support the technology for it yet.

This router works as expected. The speeds are great, the customizations solid, and WiFi 6 will be very useful going forward.

I only pay for 200Mbps with my internet service provider yet somehow with this Asus router I get around 230 in just about every corner of my 1300 sq. ft. two-bedroom apartment. The speeds are as good as advertised whether it is with my lone WiFi 6 device (Samsung Note 10) or with all my non-WiFi 6 devices. I also have to say that I love that I can easily turn off the LED lights on the front with the push of a button. For the price I can't imagine there is a better WiFi 6 router out there.

as said in the summary great router as long as your willing and able to set it to your needs. Range is great and usability is reasonable
