    Awesome Computer for Average Person

Looking for a mid-range computer at a decent price? Look no further! This computer has done everything I've needed it to do since the day I opened up the box. I regularly do coding in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, XML, Java, C, C++, Python etc... an the multi-tasking of this computer is excellent for the price. If you plan on gaming on this computer I can tell you this. Most games that you probably want to play like Battlefield 4, Call of Duty, etc... are not going to play very well on this machine. Now if you are wanting to play games like Sims 3, SimCity 4, SimCity 2013, Roller Coaster Tycoon, an internet games or similar to any of those it will perform amazingly. Of course you can always add a GPU (Graphics Processing Unit# as it has 2 PCIe x16 slots one with 16 lanes and 1 with 4 lanes. #If you know what I'm talking about# I plan on putting in an AMD P9 270 an than it will rock most every game I throw at it with decent settings. It does have the A-10 6700 Radeon HD 8670D APU #Accelerated Processing Unit# in place of your standard CPU #Central Processing Unit) but as great as the machine has performed for me I would say APU's are going to soon be the new standard as far as everyday computing or anything aside from gaming. I can sit here an code, have iheart radio playing, have several webpages open, an still have plenty of power to do more. Don't listen to what others have told you, this machine performs very well in the multi-tasking department long as you aren't running any very high-end software programs with intensive graphic interfaces you will never miss a beat with this machine. So definitely if you are in these reviews seeing what others have said, you can take my word that this machine has everything you need in a computer on a budget. Though do keep in mind you will need a monitor but it has HDMI out on the back. So if you have an HDTV take this bad boy home plug it up an turn it on, than you're good to go. Now, on to the mouse an keyboard. They are not bad, I only mentioned them because the wires seem to tangle easily. The actual software an hardware part of the devices are perfect. It's just the quality of the coating on the wires going to your machine from them. I've used them almost constantly since I got this computer an they still have kinks in them from when I first took the bread ties off. Though for most of you that will not be an issue. I just wanted to point that out though. 9/10 stars very decent machine for the price you won't be disappointed.

    Decent for the Price

I bought this for school, mainly, I also play games. Whenever I first turned it on the process was fast and easy to finish. I have only turned this computer on 3 times, simply because it stopped sending signal to the monitor, nor would it power the keyboard and mouse. Besides this it has worked fine, even though I now have to take it in for it to be repaired. I will say that it is worth it. As I assume my issue is an anomaly. I have always been a fan of Asus as they tend to make good products. I will edit this review once my problem is fixed, and once I have had at least a week of running time (without it quitting on me) All of the games I have played on it, being minecraft, DOTA2, and The Sims 3, have worked wonderfully, without any lag whatsoever. It runs smoothly as I have said, and runs all of the software that I need it to run without so much as a blink.

Purchased this computer after being told it was TS compatible. I was a windows 7 user. Purchased a new monitor to be able to use the windows 8 TS. Got it home and TS wouldn't work, call the Geek Squad and found out not all windows 8 systems are TS and this one is not. Fixing to call the store to find out why they sold me a new monitor for a computer that didn't have TS.

Computer ran great for 6 hours and then wireless card died. E-mailed tech support and they responded 'Asus doesn't manufacture desktops with wireless'. When tech support didn't admit to making their own product I returned it.

    great inexpensive pc

Bought this computer for a couple of craft machines that I needed an inexpensive PC for. One of the most quietest computers I've ever owned and I've had computers in my home since the mid 90's. Love how fast this little machine is--wasn't expecting it to be this fast considering the price point and I already have it a bit loaded with the programs that were installed for my craft machines (sorry, not a gamer, can't help you with that). Windows 8 (or 8.1) is not at all confusing to learn, despite what other reviews may claim---it's pretty simple if you just don't freak out about having to learn a few new things. You are smarter than the box and will be able to handle it. Windows 8 now has an update for a Desktop version, which is all this computer needed in the first place. I agree with what another reviewer said about a Desktop not needing to have a Tablet experience. It is totally wasted on a Desktop and serves no purpose whatsoever (not the fault of Asus---they make great products). If you do decide on a PC with Windows 8 (or 8.1), make sure there are (software) updates available for the Windows 8 version---example, iTunes and QuickTime users have been experiencing issues with iTunes and QuickTime constantly crashing. At the time this review was written, there were no updates available from Apple for Windows 8 (or 8.1). There are work-arounds available but many people have reported issues. Just make sure to check out updates for the things you like your computer to be able to do before you get one with Windows 8.

As soon as I got the machine, I uninstalled the McAfee anti-malware suite and opted for Microsoft Defender instead. I also uninstalled the Bing bar. Then I connected to Windows Update and downloaded a LOT of system and app updates. Then I updated to Win 8.1 through the Store which automatically updated all drivers including AMD Radeon. Then I installed "Classic Shell" to get the Win 7 start menu back. Took about 2-3 hours to do all this. Now the machine is screaming fast and WAY better than any Win7 machine. Motherboard is a stripped down ASUS F2A55-M: - does not have a legacy PCI slot (just an empty space instead) - does have PCI-E x16, PCI-E x4, and PCI-E x1 slots - has only 4 SATA connectors (instead of 6) - does have 4 DIMM slots so expandable to 32GB or 64GB - is not compatible with standard F2A55-M BIOS/firmware updates - BIOS/firmware updates are less frequent than the standard board from ASUS - PCI-e x4 slot is populated with a Ralink WLAN card, but it can be relocated to the x1 slot if you want to do Crossfire RAM: - Ships with a single 8GB 1600MHz DIMM either Kingston or A-Data - easily expandable to 32GB or 64GB CPU: - AMD A10-6300 is pretty much the top of the line 2013 APU in 65-watt TDP - temperatures and fan speed remain low even under load Power supply: - no-name 300watt model - not 80+ certified - no mains switch on rear, only soft on/off switch on front panel - upgraded supply needed to run powerful graphics card(s) Chassis: - lightweight, but solid construction - 2 5.25" drive bays - external has DVD-RAM, internal has USB/audio/memory-reader - 3 3.5" drive bays - one has the hard drive, other two are free, so no problem having 3 hard drives! - may need to remove CPU heatsink/fan in order to install extra hard drives - warranty sticker prevents opening the case without voiding 1-year warranty (hair dryer works to melt the glue to pull off and preserve the sticker) - no chassis cooling fans included or needed, but has spots for optional front and rear fans - front cover has minimal ventilation so front fan not recommended - side cover has ventilation holes which must not be obstructed Hard drive: - Western Digital Blue 7200RPM - factory partitioned with ~150GB OS, and ~750GB Data

    Great gaming rig starter

I bought this computer for gaming. The initial 8GBs of RAM would be well and good, however, I would recommend upgrading to 16GB (two 4GB cards for slots 2 and 4) to be able to handle games in the future. This should only cost an addition $70 or so before tax. Well worth it for the added performance. The APU is crossfire ready, however, with the Radeon card already in place, the added benefit isn't really worth the money if you upgrade the RAM. Also, you can't beat the price for a machine like this.

I ordered this to replace my last Asus desktop that was starting to give out. I was not looking forward to upgrading to Windows 8 because I have it on a laptop and it annoys me. However this latest release seems to be easier to customize. There are still things I don't like but its getting better. The machine itself is not heavy and easy to move. It is very quiet and can handle multitasking easily. Music, email, web surfing and game running.. no issues. I've had a few Asus products over the past few years and I am I very happy with them.

I got this computer for Christmas, and as a gamer. It is really great for some games in steam. It's not good for newest games that require a higher end Graphics Card. Also when looking through the Drives I realized that the C: Drive only allows like 149 GB of space. and The Data drive is 749 GB space. That really isn't much of a problem because you can easily extend the partition and delete the data drive completely, but might be confusing to others. My other concern is unable to boot other OS into this computer. As for me, I favor other Operating Systems other than Windows 8. Don't get me wrong, I like Windows 8, but I'd rather prefer Windows 7 over it for my own reasons. Other than that. It's a pretty great computer and the performance is great.

Let me start with; I'm an absolute gamer. Only thing is, I like a fast PC. I run everything on low, even with the potential of medium. I like it when it runs; and I don't care about appearance. That's why this PC works for me. It's not graphics heavy. WHAT SO EVER. It's the pc you get when you need a comp. that plays everything awesomely, but doesn't look good. I'm not a fan of windows 8, having owned a laptop that came pre with it. I tried it, and absolutely hated it, so I immediately down(up)-graded to windows 7. I can very well see myself doing the same with this in the near future. This is an awesome PC for someone who need's to do alot of everything, and the 1TB is a nice add. Overall, I really enjoy this PC, and I HIGHLY recommend it.

The M11 is a good base rig for everyday computing and casual games. Will have to upgrade to at least a 500W PSU and a 7750 or NVidia's equivalent to enjoy more demanding games. I would also recommend the Geek Squad tech support plans. HDMI is nice too.

    Asus Computer

Well today I just picked up my ASUS computer from Best Buy and the buying experience was great. I think Best Buy is the best place to shop. I could have done a bit better on price if I would have waited but only by a little bit of money about like 30 bucks. The only other complaint is I am upset over having to pay for windows home and student 2013 again. The salesman had said that their was a 20 dollar off the price of the digital download which I saw on best buy website. I was shocked that I cant get it for that price after buying the computer. There is no discount or no coupon code for it. At least they never gave me one nor could I find one. But all that aside I still gave this computer a solid 5 for the AMD-A10 and so far my experience has been good. The last complaint I have with is windows-8 platform. it does not support a POP-3 e-mail account so I have to try a new and different program. It is also new to me and I have to learn it all over but if you have any computer experience you should be able to quickly figure it out. This computer is very fast and so far I am very pleased and would recomend it to anyone else looking.

Bought this computer with a seperat r9 270x graphics card for gamming . With the r9 it can run any game in max settings. The only downside is the case is to small to run dual vid cards in crossfire. You will have to upgrade the case to do that.

I purchased this desk top for my son about a year ago. He uses it for school and gaming. So far, no problems and it functions fast enough for all of his games. I was a little cautious buying a brand I was not familiar with but this ASUS computer has held up well with no hardware or software problems. For an off the shelf unit, this one is doing fine.

bought the computer as a base build for a budget gaming pc along with an amd r9-270x and a 800w power supply. it worked great for about a month and then the wireless card burned out. and i eventually had to upgrade to a larger high airflow case because the CPU/APU cooler was just not enough i would not recommend buying this for anything that would put a high load on it, as it does not cool effectively.
