I like this PC because I have had only 1 minor issue with it thus far working with Oculus. I had to shut off run time scanning on the McAffee virus protection to download/update the games. It took me sending the data files from Oculus to Oculus Support to figure that out. So that kinda sucked. But the PC works great behind a good operator. Ha.

For the TL;DR crowd: if you want a VERY good gaming PC on a budget, keep this one on your short list! After year of dreaming, scheming, and pleading, I finally convinced my wife to let me buy a new PC, and to let me get one that was designed for gaming. I had an initial budget of $1000 + tax, which I assumed would land me in the lower to mid range rigs, assuming I didn't build it from scratch myself. I'm not saying that I couldn't have done so, but it had been at least 8 years since the last time I went out and built a custom PC. (Long story; not worth reading) Well, I was wrong about that. So I did research, and I read a lot of good things about Asus as a brand for out-of-the-box gaming rigs. (Random fact: Asus RoG Laptops are a computer of choice for Planmeca E4D, which is a CAD/CAM system used to craft dental crowns in-house. I know that my not impress many people, but think about the processing power involved in 3D modeling and printing, and that's a big deal.) And so I searched, and kept coming back to this rig. After weeks of comparison shopping, I picked it up for myself. I couldn't be happier. Are you looking for fast? this does fast really well. Iteration times are wonderfully short. I think that the delay from power button to Start Page is <8 seconds. (but I am comparing to an 8 year old and run-down Dell laptop, so take it for what it's worth.) The SSD is great for storing and accessing programs. and at 512Gb, that's a decent amount of storage for casual to mid-level gaming (at least it is for me.) I'm sure that 16Gb RAM may be not enough for some programs, but with 6Gb Graphics backing it up, I can't see it being much of a problem. (Besides, if I'm wrong, you can double it to 32Gb RAM no trouble.) Note: be sure when you compare the GPU to other Nvidia GTX1060 rigs, THIS one is a 6Gb card, where many of the rest are 3Gb. That's a BIG reason to give this a second look (and a third, fourth, etc.) The 1Tb Mechanical HD should hold most of my photographer spouse's pics, as well as the collection of music we have. (I actually filled an old iPod Classic 120Gb with music, and no, it wasn't all good) Seriously, though, it's great. It'll be a good long time before I fill these drives up. The only minor complaint I had is that the build in sound card didn't have S/PDIF for my gaming headphones. A $40 Asus Xonar DGX sound card, a Philips Screwdriver, and less than 30 minutes of my time fixed that, though. BTW: I also picked up a Asus 23" Monitor (VS238H-P) to go with it, and it's quite lovely. I'd love to tell you what awesome settings I'm running my latest games at, but I just spent over $1200 on a new PC and peripherals. I need a couple months for my wallet to recover! However, all my old favorites installed and play perfectly. And everything currently on my Steam wishlist (Fallout 4, Civ 6, Dark Souls 3, Skyrim, DOOM, XCOM 2) have their recommended specs still 33% or more below this rig in processing power, so I don't see needing to dial down my settings much to make them play well. Time will tell, though. If you want to get into (or back into) PC gaming, or need to run high performance software, and you don't have a lot of money to burn, you can't do much better than this. Maybe you can best this setup and price if build it yourself, but I tried to put together a comparable system from components, and I couldn't do it for under a grand. (I mostly looked at Newegg and Fry's) Plus, it's a daunting task to design a gaming rig as a rank amateur. And let's face it, we're shopping for PCs here, which means we are probably not at that level of proficiency.

Great computer for editing and rendering videos. I purchased this machine not for gaming but to speed up my work with video editing. I have it set up so programs sit on the SSD and it just flies. I then use the 1 TB hard drive as file storage. It works quite nicely and I've been very pleased with the speed and performance of this machine.

Graphic is fast. it is a very powerful game computer.

I was so taken with the whole Oculus system that I had to have one and after driving 50 miles to get to the store and getting a quality hands on demo that synched it. My wife and I already had a good idea we were going to get one. So $1800.00 later they have bundled a nice system. I get home go through the unpleasant task of setting it all up (in the mean time I've had to swap out the keyboard.) So I finish installing, call Best Buy and they say well, bring it in and we will swap it out. So I make the long trip and what do I get, "Where is the PC" I was told I did not need it. Oh but you do because it is serialized. Well isn't that great. I get that resolved and then I come to find that the X box controller does not work. And the codes on the receipt for free games do not work so you then give me a gift card for Steam games which was the most user unfriendly site I have ever been to. So I try to get help from you and naturally no one at best buy knows anything about Oculus. And the FINAL straw after you sell me bad stuff you tell me no more returns like its my fault.

I shopped around a lot looking for the best gaming computer I could get for the lowest price. This Asus is far more than I expected! This computer can play Ark: Survival Evolved on "epic" settings and get 50-60 fps. I am VERY PLEASED with this purchase, and I highly recommend this computer for those with a lower budget.

This desktop is light years ahead of any desktop I've ever had in my life. And I work with computers all the time. I won't even use my labtop anymore because the boot up time and response on this is that amazing. This was definitely a great investment.
