Has some Tech problems. It locks up unexpectedly and randomly. Has to be forced off and restarted. Its a good computer when it runs, but can't be trusted to save your work when it freezes up.

Excellent computer and I'm not a gamer

I shopped many places to replace my Dell desktop. I am a physician who keeps many photos and slide shows on my desktop and compliment with a Yoga 900 laptop. While I sought to add another HD to the computer, I have not had to yet and use portable 2 TB backups instead (the USB3 ports are fast). The computer has been excellent right out of the box, easy set up, runs my Microsoft office programs easily. While I was tempted to pair with the fast ASUS monitor, I instead went for the slick HP 25es and love the setup. Movies are great at the desk and the hassle factor is minimal. The computer is quiet and reliable, lots of handy ports. I had to download new drivers for an old but excellent Epson flat bed scanner but then it worked like a dream. Great wireless on home system. Recently discounted to $850, I think this unit a solid value and should stand the test of time. I considered the I7 but find the 5 runs every program I need without a hitch. The hybrid drive is fast and reliable...very satisfying.

I had the computer about a month and everything was great, but the screen went blue and got a bunch of errors. Now it could be gone for a up to a month. So it was well worth the price tag while it worked.

Runs my games no n problem, but the entire system freezes periodically and it has to be shut down and restarted. May not be a problem with the computer, but thought I should note it.

Bogs down with simple website browsing. Difficult to install older hardware. Only one HDMI port actually works. For a gamer machine...very slow.

I had this computer for exactly 2 years, purchased January 2017, fried January 2019. It worked ok, occasionally freezing then rebooting itself over the time it worked. Then all of a sudden it shutdown. I took it in for diagnosis, motherboard fried, dead. Major repair or buy new. I bought an Alienware.

While not the top-of-the line gaming computer needed by avid gamers, this machine will satisfy the needs of any beginner or amateur, either for gaming or for graphics work. Boots up fast, runs smoothly, has enough ports to plug in all the peripherals you want, plus it has a CD drive (a lot of towers don't anymore) and of course a memory card reader. Standard sound is good enough, the video card made my old monitor look bettter.

Fastest and quietest computer that I have ever owned, with great graphics, wifi, Bluetooth and everything that one would need. I waited 4 months to write a review, because I wanted to make sure that everything was perfect with my system so that I could tell you truthfully about it. For the price, even not on sale, this computer is worth every penny, The case lighting is just an extra plus that makes the computer stand out, It truly is a gaming computer, as every game my kids have played worked very well on high settings and they play the latest most graphic intensive games. Buy it, you won't be sorry and I would get the geek squad warranty also so if anything goes wrong, best buy will take care of you right in the store. ENJOY.

Less than 15 day return warranety, this computer BSOD and refused to go EUFI. On day two of ownership, OS10 was reinstalled. Then on day 10 the final straw. I returned immediately and Best Buy was very helpful in the returning to the store mode. I appreciate that from BB. Thank you.

    Great PC, Terrible Service

I read through all of the reviews and had no doubt in my mind this was the best PC I was looking for. I bought it for my girlfriend so she can stream and play video games at high settings. The computer runs games at high settings with only 50% CPU usage. Why did I 1 star? Within 3 weeks the computer started freezing while streaming or playing video games. I brought it to best buy for the manufacturer warranty. Sent it out once, they replaced the graphics card. Got the computer back, same issue. Sent it out again (It has now been 1 month and 3 days since I've been without the computer) . This time they replaced the Processor, Power Supply, and Motherboard. Got the computer back, and it started over heating using the same exact settings as before. I didn't get a chance to see if it would freeze again or not because I was scared of the computer overheating and messing up. I keep calling ASUS and GEEKSQUAD for more information on what I can do to get a replacement... This will be the 3rd time I am sending the computer in. It is very fustrating because my girlfriend uses this computer for streaming and makes money from it, and she has been unable to stream for the past month. They keep telling me I just have to keep sending in the computer until they finally decide that it needs to be replaced. This is ridiculous. I spent $1000 on this computer, for 3 weeks later (if it was within 15 days I could have done the return policy) nothing but trouble. Very bad service from ASUS and GEEKSQUAD. Asus recommends i ship it to them, but that means i have to pay $45+ for shipping after already spending $1000 on the PC. That is why I am sending through best buy geek squad. I have called over 10 times and talked to several people and they basically say - "I know it sounds harsh, but you just have to keep sending it in until they decide to replace it, which I've heard of a few times of them replacing computers" Really... The whole CPU was basically replaced already in parts and STILL having issues. Very dissatisfied, would recommend this computer for gaming, but if it craps out, good luck with your 1 year warranty as you have to either pay for shipping, wait two weeks, only for it to possibly not be fixed.

I purchased one of these and it had a RAM defect. Took it back, got another and it had a power shortage. Long story short, I do NOT recommend these. Asus is known to use cheap parts and I wish I knew this prior to my order.

    Absolute beast on a bargain

I've been building gaming PCs for the last 8 years, my current gaming setup cost a little under $3K when I initially built it all. However with that being said, I purchased this desktop for my girlfriend. On sale, for $899, you simply can not beat this. I spent hours setting up a PC build to compare to this, and even if I ordered all the parts myself, set up everything myself, I still would have been paying over $950 before taxes and shipping (not to mention the time it would take to build and set up). The price for this PC on sale is too good to pass up. Price aside, digging into the performance of the machine it's built extremely well. The 512GB SSD included isn't the fastest SSD on the market, but it certainly beats out the budget SSDs I've purchased over the years. The included 1TB HDD is a fine HDD. The CPU does more than enough work for gaming, and honestly should be fine even if you upgrade the GPU. My favorite part about this pre-built PC though is the 1060. The new 10 series is extremely power efficient and a 1060 is more than enough to game at 1080p, max settings. This card will last for years to come. The only con I can think of is the fact that the CPU cooler is just a stock cooler and you can't overclock the CPU. But honestly that's something you should never expect to get from a pre-built. All in all, this PC is amazing for the price, not to mention the build quality is superb.

Asus G11 is number 1 for Graphic Design or Games.

Coming from a Apple Imac for graphic design there is a small learning curve with using a windows computer. I use CS6 for most of my editing. This computer has enough Ram and Graphics to back up most work you would need to do in a normal day to day editing job. This computer comes with a few programs from Asus and not much bloatware. I did add a Rocatt Lula mouse instead of the one included. This computer has some major power, especially when editing in Photoshop and using filters. I have always used Apple computers for graphics but recently I figured I'd try something a little different when my Apple started to over heat. Have 10-12 working windows computers I figured it was time to make the switch. I love this computer and would recommend it to anyone. Asus usually has some weird quarky bugs that usually can be fixed but sometimes you just learn to live with them. Asus message boards and forums usually are a great resource if you ever encounter problems. I also own a G71JH Asus laptop which was top of the line about 5 years ago. I recommend Asus computers whenever someone is asking for a new computer. Thanks, Enjoy your purchase if you decide on this computer!!!!! I sure am! :) This also pairs perfectly with a Asus Monitor. Make sure you get the right monitor for the job, I bought a gaming monitor and it is lacking in contrast but I knew this going into it. OK Enough of me rambling. GO PICK T HIS UP!
