The Asus ProArt PZ13 is for creators looking for a durable tablet that can be used at home or out in the elements. It features IP52 dust and waterproof protection and meets the US DoD’s rigorous 810H specification for use in less-than-ideal environmental conditions such as rain, extreme temperatures, high altitudes, vibrations, etc. It includes a well-designed back cover with ridges that help grip it in slippery situations and a kickstand that allows you to use the tablet at almost any angle. The included (yes, included) detachable keyboard is probably one of the best I’ve used on a tablet device. Both the backlit keys and trackpad are large, and it lays flat unlike some other tablet keyboards I’ve had in the past. Being a Snapdragon tablet, the keyboard includes the new CoPilot key to quickly pull up AI features. The trackpad also supports Asus’ smart gestures which allow you to control the volume and brightness by sliding your finger up/down on the left and right sides of the trackpad. With the back cover and keyboard attached the whole package weighs about 3.3 pounds, which is a little over twice the weight of just the tablet on its own.
On the tablet itself you get two USB-C 4.0 ports and a full-size SD card reader. Only one of the USB-C ports and the card reader are protected with a rubber cover. My guess is the exposed USB-C port is protected from dust and water with some type of internal seal. There is a small fan in the tablet, with an air intake on the back and exhaust on the top. The PZ13 comes with an incredibly generous 1TB of fast SSD storage. You don’t typically find this much storage in this form factor, at least not without paying more for it, so this is a huge plus in my opinion.
The screen is the star of the show: a 13.3 inch 3K (2880x1800) OLED in a 16:10 aspect ratio supporting HDR with 500Nits of brightness. As a tablet, it’s also a touch screen and supports a pen but unfortunately, the pen is not included in the box and will have to be purchased separately. The OLED panel reproduces colors very accurately but only supports a refresh rate of 60hz. In the ProArt Creator Hub app, you can change the color temperature and gamma to match what you are working on. The speakers on this device are actually very good, way better than I thought I would find on a Windows tablet. There is not much bass, but they can get loud and sound even better if you turn on the Dolby Atmos Dynamic mode in Asus settings.
For the brains, it’s sporting a Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus X1P42100, a 4nm 8-core ARM-based system on a chip. While this is the lowest CPU configuration that Qualcomm currently offers in the Snapdragon X series, I found it to be just fine. It’s still a very fast chip, and incredibly efficient. On Geekbench 6 I got 2,434 and 11,368 single core and multicore scores, respectively. These scores squarely land it in the mid-tier range for performance, which is completely expected for a tablet. On the graphics side of the house, the Adreno integrated GPU is not a great performer, as it ranked poorly in my benchmarks and in my gaming tests. According to Qualcomm's published specs the Adreno GPU in this SoC is less than half as performant as the top tier Snapdragon X Elite.
App compatibility is still hit or miss in the Windows on ARM ecosystem. If you’re an Adobe user, they have updated some of their apps to support ARM natively, like Photoshop, which works well on this device. Others like Premiere Pro will need to run through Microsoft’s Prism x86 emulator. Prism is really good but still not as performant or battery efficient as a natively compiled ARM application. You wouldn’t want to use this laptop as your daily driver for video editing, for example. Sometimes, an app or driver isn't supported at all, such as something even as simple as the Apple Music app, which refuses to install because the architecture is not supported.
Over time, as it becomes more mainstream, developers will update their apps to support Windows on ARM. There’s also the new and powerful NPU included on the chip, which can process large amounts of data in parallel. As a CoPilot+ PC, you get access to advanced AI features such as Cocreator and my favorite Copilot feature: Live Translations, which can caption anything playing on the tablet to 40 other languages on the fly.
Although never intended to be a gaming machine, it’s part of my routine when I run tests on laptops, so I did load a few. A fast-paced highly competitive game such as Rocket League was technically playable, but not nearly as enjoyable as I’m used to. A simpler casual game like TMNT Shredder’s Revenge ran without a hitch. As with all Snapdraon X laptops on the market today, games like Fortnite or any with kernel-level anti-cheat will not work at all. Even Microsoft knows you have no business playing games here, as its Xbox Games Pass app won’t let you install any Games Pass games, only run Cloud ones over the air.
As a tablet, you get not only a good webcam but an additional 13MP 4K resolution camera on the rear of the device. I found both to be what I’d expect out of a premium device. The front camera supports Windows Studio Effects, a Copilot PC exclusive suite of AI-enabled video conferencing tools. There are also infrared sensors that support Windows Hello for biometric authentication.
The best part of this tablet is the battery life. It is phenomenal. I got around 17 hours on a 4K HDR video loop at 50% brightness and 50% volume. In the first week, after the initial full charge, I still had over 60% remaining and had used the tablet off and on for 5 days. Part of it is the efficiency of 4nm ARM, but the other is a massive (for a tablet) 70Wh battery inside. For perspective, the latest iPad Pro 13” only has a 39Wh battery.
To wrap things up, I would have liked to see a headphone jack and support for cellular, as these would have made it much more compelling for my creative use cases. However, I of course understand ASUS had to keep the price at a certain level to make it an attractive option in the market. I can live with tethering to my phone and using my wireless buds for now.
Pros:
- Snapdragon X Plus 8-core CPU 3.41Ghz 4nm
- 16GB of Fast LPDDR5X RAM
- 3K OLED touch screen with 100% DCI-P3 coverage
- Rugged Design with Military Grade protection
- Included Keyboard/Trackpad combo
- Excellent Battery Life
- Good Sound Quality
- 1TB SSD Storage
- Microsoft Copilot+ Features
- Windows Hello Support
- Supports Data Encryption on Win Home
- USB-C 4.0
- Full Size SD card slot and included microSD adapter
- Wifi 7
- 3-month Adobe Creative Cloud trial
- 6 month CapCut Pro trial
Cons:
- ARM Compatibility
- Integrated Graphics
- Does not include the pen
- Screen is only 60hz
- No headphone jack
- No cellular support
Overall – The Asus ProArt PZ13 is one of the most durable and versatile Windows tablets I’ve seen. With a color accurate OLED panel, huge SSD, and most importantly superb battery life it should be a strong contender for a lot of creators. Especially at its price point compared to other similar devices on the market.

Here it is!!
This laptop has one of, if not the best, displays I have seen and used in some time, including (subjectively speaking) my 6+ years old 4K laptop. But to the basics. It's fast, easy to use, has that gorgeous screen and is very portable!
I started by loading 10,000+ songs on it and then using it as a networked player throughout my home. Not a single problem accessing and playing music. I also tested playing directly to a few of my Bluetooth headphones including my Bose QC45 and Sennheiser Momentum 4 headphones.
I put my Pandora and SiriusXM accounts on and enjoyed my music via those headphones played back on this excellent laptop! It sounds great and I am listening to "Willie's Roadhouse" (on SiriusXM) as I write this!
I have also put Disney+ and MAX on the laptop and the picture is excellent and sound via the headphones is also quite good. Zero buffeting of the film and soundtrack and never less than a sharply detailed screen was presented!
Most people use their laptops for smurfing the interwebs and this one is fast! No buffering on movies or music, photos load instantly and it is without a doubt the best screen I have yet to use!
And for writing on forums, et al, there is a nice bonus feature: The F8 Key is also a "smilie" key! 😊
The only minus I really have is that sometimes when typing on the included keyboard with my wrists resting on the lower half of the board, everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, I have typed is suddenly erased!! This has happened multiple times and now I uncomfortably "float" my wrists above above the keyboard. Being a handicapable seasoned citizen with a sense of humor, this is both frustrating and funny! But I'm thinking about getting a Bluetooth keyboard.
The case that comes with it is excellent and has kept the laptop in perfect shape the two times I have dropped it getting up from my couch. It charges quickly and a full charge lasts several hours. In the real world this is perhaps the all 'round best laptop I have owned to date. It's fast, looks great, is durable and does everything that I need it to. I think it would do the same for pretty much anyone looking for a real world laptop.
Highly recommended? But of course!

I purchased this model back in November I have only opened an used about 15 times since then. This month I needed to used and the power will not turn on. I took it to Geek Squad they didn't really attempt to fix it they told me that they can ship it to Asus and it will be 2 weeks and it is likely that I'll lose my files and or my laptop will be replaced. I am utterly disappointed with this purchase and experience I am having especially as a BB card holder and member.

Dear AGanersMom,
Thank you for reaching out.
We certainly understand the inconvenience this may have caused. If the laptop will not boot up or it's just black screen but the fan, please do the following. Please try to do a power cycle by pressing and holding down the power button to shut it down completely. If it still black screen after a few minutes, at least 10 minutes, please repeat the power cycle process again. If the laptop is applying updates in the System Registry, it will black screen temporarily until the update were applied successfully. Also, please try to disconnect the power cable and let the unit drain for 24 hours to clear the memory. This will reset the hardware to default settings. After doing this, please reconnect your AC adapter, do not power on the laptop until the battery was charged. If you need further assistance, please email me at [email protected] and I will be more than happy to help. Or, you are most welcome to call Product Support Hotline at: 1(888) 678-3688.
