Excellent Laptop For The Road Warrier

I was looking to update my aging Lenovo laptop and had narrowed my search down to three computers and finally settled on this Asus 13 incher.
I've been using the computer for almost three weeks and I have not had a single problem with the device. The display is bright, crisp, with an excellent color reproduction that makes it a pleasure to use. The lighted keyboard is another nice touch and said keyboard is quite nice to type on (I'm using it to write this review).
My use case for this machine is a combination of home at a desk and travel for work.
At home I connect it to an external monitor and keyboard. However, when traveling this thing is a godsend to have. It's literally a couple of pounds lighter than the old laptop it replaces and the power adapter isn't too bulky or heavy. Battery life has been outstanding and it's never failed to last me for as long as I needed it and longer. WiFi reception is likewise well above average.
I've not really used the touch screen capabilities as that wasn't a requirement for me but the couple of times I've used it I have found it to be quite responsive and accurate. It's one of those things that's nice to have if I need it down the road. Another benefit of the device is the future proofing built in with USB-C with two USB 3.0 ports with an old USB 2.0 port thrown in for good measure.
Overall this is a great device and I do not regret my purchase at all and strongly recommend this if you're looking for something portable and future proof.

I wanted a small and fast laptop and this one fits the bill. I like that it has a touch screen and can be used as a tablet. I only have it about three weeks, but so far so good.

I bought this to replace an old laptop. I liked the features it had and it's size. However it had problems in the first week and a half. It locked up several times and had to be forced to shut down. Then it would say it had to fix the c drive when restarted. The last time it did this it took 4+ hours to finish so I took it back and exchanged it for a different laptop without any problems. If this laptop had not had any problems I would have kept it.

I was looking to buy a new laptop with storage for considerable pictures and PowerPoint files. Chose an HP and keyboard failed after one week. Then I tried a Dell. 15" so it was large, bulky and slow as could be. Returned both laptops and went with the Asus. I've only had it a month but so far so good. It boots up quickly, is small enough to lug around in my briefcase and be able to open up and use on airplanes regulatly. Would recommend this laptop, especially if you need something small for frequent travel plus it's fast and has loads of storage.

This is a great laptop. Never had a asus laptop before but i can say wow this thing is fast and nice looking. Great touchscreen and quick I5 7th Gen Processor. Backlit keyboard is awesome to have. I use it for some lite gaming like CSGO and Rocket League and it runs both no problem! Also use it for Office. My Girlfriend uses it fr school I use it for causal use and no problems so far. Only 6 Gigs of RAM which i think should be 8GB. Windows 10 is cool works well on this PC. Overall great PC, Great Buy! Pick this PC up even if you are slightly considering it you wont be dissapointed!

We use these Asus units for our outside sales representatives. They are on the road frequently and these machines handle MS Office, browsing, logging in to our CRM in the cloud, connecting to big screens in our client offices for demos, and everything else we ask them to do. I was tired of spending money on MacBook Pros and having sales reps drop them, leave them in cars in frigid temps or hot temps and killing the expensive MBPs. These Asus units are a quarter of the cost, the reps love the touchscreens and the tablet and tent modes as well as the great keyboard and screen in regular laptop mode, and they are light for travel. (And to repeat, a quarter of the price of what we paid for MBPs.) There are faster machines, but unless you're doing video editing or PhotoShop with huge files, the i5 processor, 6GB or 8GB of RAM (we have a number of each) and 1TB hard drive is plenty. I have personally had Asus units for 5 years now and am sold on Asus quality. (In addition to these units, we have 6 similar Asus machines with 15" screens in our accounting department and our users love them.)

I got this laptop for a great discount, as an open box/display price which was great!! Its a great laptop, the design, storage, picture quality, finger print reader to sign in, and much more. The only reasons i didn't give this laptop 5 stars, are the mouse pad and Microsoft Office. The mouse pad seems to have its own mind sometimes but the touch screen works perfectly. I had to purchase a Microsoft Office so that i could use word and excel.
Overall this is a great laptop.

I've now had this laptop for just under two months. I'd looked at similar laptops about a year ago when my old laptop was having issues previously; I wound up putting a band-aid on my old laptop, which I did again two months ago but I went ahead and upgraded to a newer laptop in this ASUS model. I don't use the tablet mode or touch screen often but I've been getting used to using them. Sometimes the mousepad will get extremely sluggish- when that happens I can get the mouse where I want it using the touchscreen. But it is pretty annoying for a laptop with these nice specs to be acting sluggish. However some of the reviews I read prior to purchasing suggested upgrading the RAM and I expect I will be doing that in the next few months. I don't love Windows 10 but I guess it is here to stay; it took awhile to disable or uninstall all of the bloatware I don't want, and there's still bloatware to remove- it hides stubbornly!
My least favorite feature is the location of the Power button - I hit it accidentally all the time! Not as much now as two months ago, but it is super annoying to have it on the side, to have it right next to the volume controls, and to have it be so sensitive!
If you don't have strenuous computer needs, this laptop will be fine. It's got a nice screen, the size is perfect for me, the speakers are decent, and it's got plenty of ports.

I got this laptop to use up a gift certificate. It hit all the buttons: it has an FHD screen, a 7th gen Core i5, 6GB of ram, whats not to like? it even has touch screen functionality!
The trouble is that Asus must have scoured the land for the SLOWEST DISK DRIVE they could possibly find. even before installing any software this laptop felt extremely sluggish; after a week of use it is so slow that even the fingerprint sensor times out on login. looking at task manager, the disk column is permanently pegged at 100% with barely any throughput.
Asus, if you're listening- this is a good product but, come on- a 1TB HDD costs roughly the same as a 120GB SSD, which would have transformed this device into something much more useful.
As for recommenation- I would recommend it but NOT WITH THE INCLUDED HDD.

Not a bad laptop at all. I got this for mom and she likes it. I also put a 480gb ssd in there and a clean install of windows. Its really snappy now and that SSD along with the i5 and plenty of ram really unlock this laptops true potential. Docking a star though because the hinges arent that great and sometimes get caught when flipping or even just adjusting. I think asus older hinge design was much better honestly.

The first one I got had very pronounced screen bleeding at start up (which I could live with but the trackpad had some major issues and the fingerprint reader worked about 5% of the time). I exchanged it for another one which asked me for a windows product key when I turned it on (it also did not have the option of doing a clean install in the restore section). I ran the sfc.exe /scannow (please do this for every new computer you purchase), and it came back okay.
Anyway, after doing a clean install in a round about way, and upgrading the RAM to 12GB plus adding an SSD drive, this laptop is "da bomb" (not sure what the slang equivalent is these days)

This computer is touch screen and has a keyboard. It can flip into a tablet as well. The battery life is very good and does not need to be charged all of the time. The good thing about this laptop is that it gives you the most for a budgeted price.
