Decent Laptop, Would not buy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop has given me numerous problems. It randomly shut off on me twice! The laptop was off but yet it was overheating and becoming extremely hot! I had to take it geek squad on two different occasions so they could fix it. Their customer service was good, however due to these problems I was missing my laptop for 2-3 months. Asus customer service is terrible. The laptop cannot handle several programs at once. Would not buy from ASUS!

Nice
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Looks nice, feels durable and well built. We like the option to rotate the screen into tablet mode. The touch screen is nice. The PC is relatively fast to boot even though it s not Solid State. Works well for minor work from home Office and web browsing. Batter life is good so far. We like the backlit keyboard. I would buy it again. Helped that it was on sale.

Great laptop for daily use
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop almost a year ago, and never had any problems with it... Everything works just fine and it is really good laptop for a daily use... Also, I like this laptop for its hinges, which can turn this laptop into a phablet and you can use touchscreen to control a computer... Very well done computer from Asus!

Heavy, akward and unresponsive touchscreen
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve owned three ASUS laptops (two top-end business systems, one midrange travel) out of the 10 or so laptops I’ve purchased (Win and Mac / ASUS, Sony, Dell, Lenovo, Acer) for a range of requirements: desktop replacements to lightweight, thin systems for use on a plane. This laptop was supposed to be a mid-low performance system for light Photoshop work, heavy touchscreen use and assorted web browser tasks. The touchscreen is laggy, unresponsive and has a unsatisfying tactile experience — if you’ve worked on a late-model iPad Pro or Samsung Galaxy S8 or S7 Edge phone screen, you know how the screen has a slight “give” on touch/press. The mechanical effort and process for swivling the screen from laptop view to “tablet/touch” mode is arduous, unreasonable and the end state (tablet/touch mode) is not elegant or useful. With a fresh install of Win10 and only the factory software running, the Win10 performance is almost comically sluggish and crashy. I returned this and got the new iPad Pro for a higher price... the experience with this far superior replacement is so above in all ways that I will never go back (until I do)

Solid laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With the standard hard drive it is kinda sluggish. Throwing an SSD in there made it a great speedy laptop to do anything but intense gaming and video editing. Upgrading the ram will help too.

Horrible laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have owned less then 8 months and have yet to be able to use it for what I bought it for. Aweful startup time, cannot use simple word program to type a letter and the machine goes into the “wheel of death”. Asus has already replaced hard drive once and it’s currently with them now. Complete lemon........

Love this laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this laptop about a few weeks ago and love it. I don't know which files are bloatware so it still has everything but there are no boot up or boot down issues. I did initially try to update the latest microsoft OS but microsoft hadva bad update which did make a driver bad. The fix: got online, went to microsoft.com, then did a chat and had them take over my laptop, i watched them fix the driver then download and install the Microsoft creator edition fix and its worked perfectly since. No long boot up, its a beautiful laptop to touch and use. It feels strong, not flimsy. There was what i thought was an issue but its not. In the display settings, the screen orientation lock/unlock switch button is always in lock mode but that is because in normal laptop mode, its disabled, but once you flip the screen to tablet or tent mode, forgot which, it unlocks and can be set to portrait or landscape, back and forth all you want. Its how Microsoft intended it to be. I looked online and saw many talking about it but not even all best buy computer employees know this. I happened to be at a store, after many other store visits where one guy showed and demonstrated this intended use of it to me and worked perfectly. I highly recommend this laptop and have no issues so far. Not even an issue with my bloatware, and installed a few small programs like ActivePerl, ActivePython, and Notepad++ which is an awesome and my favorite text editor. I also put a lot of movies and cartoons on it for my children, like Peppa Pig, Doc McStuffins, which is about 80 shows right there, but apeppa Pig shows are very short then I have about 25 movies on it and still has over 880 GB left. I love the 1 TB it came with and did not upgrade anything yet. If i do an upgrade it would be to swap the 2GB ram stick for an 8GB stick, maybe in the future to have the max of 12GB of RAM. I use it to watch movies, let my children watch movies and shows, do some software development, use command prompt to run scripts I create, and other things like surf online, and check email. Again, i love this laptop and so glad I got it on sale for $499.99.

Good but needs modifications
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this for my son for college. When we got it, it was running at 100% and the speed was really slow. We took it to the Geek Squad and the said nothing was wrong with the computer but that the memory was too small for the computer to function properly. We had to have more memory installed for another $100. Now it works great but we were really annoyed that Asus would sell a computer that needed to be upgraded right away.

a "wow" laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.this is a premium laptop, cloaked in a budget price after using the .edu coupon. while i don't accept any liability - you get much better performance if you rip out the hard drive and throw in a SSD in its place. also put in a 8GB memory stick for a total of 12GB of memory. re-install fresh copy of windows and this thing will FLY!!!. i am on it now, have to return it since one of the keys is broken but i have a replacement on the way. minor problem. other than that, this laptop is crazy. battery life is insane. screen is very high quality. it's not the lightest but it's profile is sleek.

Great laptop - light weight
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Much lighter than my last laptop and much more memory and RAM. I am amazed at the memory in such a small and light laptop. Been 4 years since I purchased one.

Great laptop with all the features
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this on a Deal of the Day promotion after a lot of time spent checking out various sites models and pricing. This laptop was an even $500 with the Daily Deal discount and it has everything you could possibly want in a 2 in 1 machine. i5 processor, 6GB memory, back lit keyboard, 360 conversion with touchscreen, a decent hard drive and a nice look and feel. The only negative I might mention is the weight of the machine. I would have liked it to be lighter. But with all the features for the price paid, that is a non-issue in the broader sense. Thanks BB.

Nice screen, great for what we use it for
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this for my kids as a homework computer. The wife and I both use MBPro's so we're spoiled with the retina display and wanted something with nice resolution, which this delivers. The touch screen is a plus. We are very happy with it so far and the kids are suddenly anxious to do their homework, which is a nice little bonus. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it's noticeably slower and more laggy than a MBPro and it would drive me bonkers if this was my work machine. Other than that, for a windows machine its a great value and shouldn't disappoint.

Solid touchscreen laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lots of computing power in this small convertible laptop. Had a smaller ASUS laptop previously so moved files to this one using ASUS Webspace. Had a bit of a challenge getting Kaspersky anti-virus removed - it seemed to want to engage the webcam on start up. All is well now. I love having touchscreen plus mousepad. Also, great battery life so far!!

Decent laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works pretty well for my use. I only use for internet and pictures mostly so I don't need a very advanced laptop. I wouldn't recommend for someone looking to use for complex jobs. More of a causal laptop.

Asus Q304UA
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a small, lightweight laptop that didn't cost too much. This fit the bill.
