Absolute Steal of a Laptop for $750.00

I bought this laptop back in July for about 750 dollars, not including shipping or tax mind you, but that still brought this thing to a mere 830 USD. After about 4 months with this thing, I absolutely love it. Let me get into the finer points of this computer:
MY USE CASE: I am a sophomore in college and I use this laptop for my classes. I have run some cpu-intensive programs, but nothing really serious. I probably use this laptop ~7 hours a day, and has gotten me through without dying on me or needing to plug in until I am home.
SCREEN: The screen is great, 1080p IPS, no complaints on picture quality or size. There is minimal light bleed that I have noticed occasionally, but it's nowhere near bothersome. Personally, I enjoy having a touchscreen for this laptop, but it's not for everyone.I do find the 2 in 1 capability to be more of a gimmick, however.
KEYBOARD: The keyboard is nice, tenkeyless (no numberpad) which I prefer. I do wish there was ever so slightly more key travel in this laptop, but that's more personal preference. Back lighting for this keyboard is not great IMO, but it works. Wish there was a function toggle button, but it doesn't really bother me.
TRACKPAD: Best I've ever used in a windows laptop, probably doesn't rival the XPS 13 or MacBook, but it's really darn good. I wanted to buy a mouse for this laptop before I got it, but I didn't and I haven't yet regretted that decision.
BUILD (miscellaneous aspects of laptop grouped together): The finish on this laptop is very pretty, but it attracts fingerprints and smudges like crazy. If that bothers you, take that into consideration. In my build of this laptop, the hinges attaching to the screen feel a little wiggly, but they've been like that since day 1 and the issue hasn't evolved from there, just an observation I'd like to note. The speakers are downward firing, and are better than my last laptop, but are not great. I try to always use headphones. Port selection is great for such a small laptop, even includes a MicroSD and HDMI port, huge brownie points to ASUS for that. Physical volume rocker on the side was a nice touch. The weight of this laptop is great, I have all my textbooks on this thing (as PDFs) and I highly prefer the 2.43 lbs from this little guy in my bag over 3 textbooks any day. Fingerprint scanner is inconsistent, I'd say it works 5 times out of 6, I wouldn't pay extra for it if I had to.
SPECS: This is where the real value of this laptop comes in. For 750 dollars, you get a i7 CPU, 16 GB of RAM, and a 512 GB SSD. That is a DEAL, no laptop I looked at prior to buying this laptop had specs near this laptop, at this price. And believe me I looked. I spent 6 months researching for this laptop, as this was a big purchase for me. I have to say, I have 110% gotten my money's worth for this laptop, and with these specs I'd say it'd be very reasonable if this laptop lasts me through all of college (Spring 2020) and maybe beyond.
SOFTWARE: Next to no bloatware pre installed (maybe 5-10 applications, and some built in ASUS hardware stuff). Currently running windows 10 1709 (Fall 2017 Update), with no issues.
BATTERY LIFE: About 7 hours, which is fine. I have rarely needed more than that, and I think that is about average for laptops of this size.
CONCLUSION: You should buy this laptop. The price is great, specs are incredible at the price, screen is great (touch capable too). It isn't perfect, but no laptop is, there are always trade offs. If there isn't enough battery life for you, or the specs aren't enough, then I'd skip, but if you're a college student looking for something that'll get you through the next four years no problem, or something similar to my use case, you've found the right laptop. Spec wise and price wise, this laptop hits the sweet spot and should be just about perfect for everyone.

Nice little 2in1. I wont repeat what all the other manufacturer descriptions say, but add a little info since I bought this right when it came out.
Good: size (similar to a yoga 900) nice, very thin, premium feel, great specs for the money. The RAM is dual channel mode which as DDR4 will hopefully help the integrated 620 graphics. Track pad works very well. The keyboard lighting works well, but with f-switches, not a sensor of any type. Windows Hello works with the fingerprint sensor. I haven't even tested the camera yet. Wifi has worked well so far. I haven't pushed it hard yet but cpu seems as responsive so far as my old 47 watt sandybridge i7 2720. Laptop is very quiet and cool but not totally inaudible in a totally silent room.
Bad: Finish makes it a SUPER fingerprint magnet and it is THE slickest laptop i have ever touched. It is extremely hard to hold on to because it is SO slippery. I am terrified I will drop it and I usually opt for nicer laptops and try to make the last 5 years. Also, for the other specs on board-i7, 512 GB SSD, 16 GB RAM, I was disappointed that ASUS decided to stick with SATA M.2 interface instead of jumping to pci-e. The cost difference would have been negligible for the performance gain and future proofing. However, I am not sure that the mainboard wont accept a pci-e drive with a bios tweek. However it does ship with SATA. Very limited instructions or set up guide. The included e-guide is for some generic laptop, and ASUS doesn't even have this listed nor will it pop up with a search, yet.
Still, for the price it seems to be a good buy. Now I need to find some way to protect it.

I compared many laptops like Dell XPS 13, Macbook 2015, Macbook 2016, HP Spectre, HP Spectre 360 and none offer the specs of this Asus for $1200 price and the Q324ua outperformed the majority of them. This a really slick machine that is smaller than my Acer Chromebook 14 but has the power to handle intense task. Only 2 issues like others have reported it's a fingerprint magnet and the you can fan on heavy loads, well I'm old school and use to hearing fans louder than that so does not bother me. Jetstream benchmark score gets around 200.(Octane pictured)

If you need small laptop which you can carry with you all the time this is it.
Very fast, responsive, battery life is very good, starts up and shuts down in seconds, fingerprint scanner makes logging in a half a second affair. Not very expensive for the quality of package. Has all the connectors you need in this world at this time, not just in the future :-)
I did not try playing big title graphics intensive games of course, since it lacks discreet graphics card, but other than that it is absolutely pleasant experience.
Cons: slightly annoying thing is cooling fan, which sometimes gets noticeably loud, it is not very bad though. What else?.. I used to own Surface and keyboard on this laptop is not that responsive as it was on Surface and is not detachable of course. And one more annoying thing- you do have to clean it often, since exterior shows your fatty fingerprints quite well.
Enjoy

I don't do reviews....ever. But this little laptop deserves some credit. I also don't buy anything without researching it for weeks or months, reading reviews, comparing specs, warranty info, number of returns, etc. I finally decided on this this ASUS for several reasons. The specs are awesome, right there at the top. No, it's not built for gaming but can get you by if that's your thing. Besides that, it's perfect. This thing is so thin and light. Very fast and powerful... more than any standard user would ever need. I used this on the road for school and it became my best travel buddy. I will admit that after a week, I came into some money and ended up taking it back for a 2017 15 inch HP Spectre BUT, only because I wanted a little bigger screen for home use. However, I realize now that it wasn't necessary and I miss this laptop big time. The HP is very nice but, is so much heavier. The whole reason of getting one for ease of use went out the window with the HP. I wasn't going to make another trip back to Best Buy so I kept the HP but, I miss my ASUS everyday. Lugging the HP around seems more like a chore now, where the ASUS felt like a portable powerhouse of a tool that you could take anywhere. If you want a laptop that will do everything and go anywhere with ease, this is your choice. It is a good price for what you get and many others are more expensive. My HP has a 4K screen but, I haven't watched one movie on it yet because when I do watch movies, I watch them on the big screen at home so, don't go over budget just for that.... it's just not worth it in my opinion. The screen on this is great and ASUS makes a fantastic product. I regret spending the extra $600+ for the HP and often wish I had this guy back. It's just so easy to use and portable. If you want a powerful laptop that's a pleasure to take on the go without worrying about dropping it because of the weight, this is a great choice. It has all the power and speed of the bigger screen laptops without costing a fortune. You will not be sorry you bought this and will see what I mean when using it all of the time. Again, I really miss this laptop. If you're on the fence about this laptop, you don't need to be. I'm sure it will become your little buddy too.

This laptop delivers on all the promises from ASUS. I am using it for mostly traditional stuff like email, web, office, some light javascript coding, access databases, etc. It is insanely fast when performing any of the above tasks. The screen is bright (not used it outside yet) and I usually run it turned down a little bit and very crisp. Touchscreen is great and not overly sensitive, same with the trackpad. In fact, the trackpad is probably the best one I have ever used on a windows laptop.
The speakers are decent for a laptop and are much louder than my previous couple of laptops. They wont win any high fidelity awards but who expects that from a laptop anyway. They work great for background music of if you are on a conference call they voices are very clear and easy to understand. The keyboard is full size and has a good feel when typing, not mushy.
Some have complained about fan noise but its a non-issue for me, it rarely kicks on and when it does it is only on for a short period of time. You can hear when it kicks on but it isnt loud, seems to modulate down very quickly. The exterior does attract fingerprints but I bought this laptop for its performance, build, and portability. The fingerprints dont bother me and I just wipe them down whenever I clean the touch screen.
With the SSD on this laptop I get boot times under 5 seconds and it is just blazing fast. At 512G I have plenty of space for just about anything. I use cloud storage services for a lot of files so I dont think I will ever get close to filling up this SSD.

I bought it to replace my heavy old Hp laptop and my 6 year old iPad. It is very light, the battery lasts a long time and it is fast. The hings holds the screen tilted the way I want to use it in tablet mode. Reviews complained about the physical keyboard and loud fan noise - neither is an issue for me. The screen could be brighter but it is not an issue.

Asus has created a well performing 2-in-1 style laptop with this Q324ua. Being accustomed to Apple products, the build quality is very good, but not quite on par with an Apple product. Still, the laptop is very solid by PC standards and the hinge is sturdy, at least during these first couple months of use. The Q324ua performance is also much higher for much less money vs the Apple laptops. The performance is good for a low Watt CPU without compromising on battery life though this is more Intel's accomplishment.
There are two primary gripes that keep this from being a must-have/five-star product.
- First, the fan can be quite loud and somewhat sporadic (you can override this but you will overheat if not careful, there is quite a bit of hungry silicon crammed into this slim case and the thermals just cannot always be managed without the noisy fan).
-And second, there is only a USB Type-C port but it does not support thunderbolt--only USB 3.0.
Another missed opportunity was to provide an NVMe m2 SSD for a bit more storage performance, but the SSD performance is solid enough for most users so I cannot discount the product too much here.
Overall, this is a stellar laptop at the given price point (sub $1K). It has a solid feel and decent keyboard and trackpad and the handy fingerprint reader--just be sure to add many extra training sessions in Windows because it is nowhere near as good as TouchID. However, you still cannot get a touch screen in the MacBook world at all, so if that is what you are after, it's better to keep comparisons limited to the PC world. That being said, if you need a solidly built but light and highly mobile Windows 2-in-1, then this is among the best options. It is possibly the best choice once you consider the price. At present, you need to spend another 40% on one of the 2017 2-in-1's to get an option with a better screen, faster storage, and full thunderbolt support.
Bottom line, even if the quality bar is not matching Apple, the price is considerably lower hence it is an excellent value.

When my 7 year old laptop started falling apart, I knew it was time to start shopping for a new one, so I headed to BB. After a couple of weeks of research; first on line, then at the store, reading 100's of reviews, I decided on the Asus - Q324UA 2-in-1 13.3 Touch-Screen Laptop. I've had it for over a month now and love it more and more every day! Let's start with the SSD; instant access to programs, email, internet, iTunes, files, etc. With half a Terabit of storage, I wont be running out of storage space anytime soon. The screen is crystal clear, colors quite vibrant. The battery life has been excellent, especially if you dial down some of the power suckers like screen brightness and use sleep mode. The machine is half the width and weight of my last laptop, but ASUS still gave me plenty of connections: 3 USB's, 1 HDMI, audio, and SD card slot. I would recommend this purchase to anyone.

The overall specs, size, finish of this laptop are fantastic for its price. Mine only has a full HD display, but at 13.3 that's OK for me. It has a premium fit and feal and is about the same size as the Yoga 900. The bad: no pci-e ssd (whether it could theoretically support one, I don't know), but it comes with a reasonably snappy 512 GB SATA III ssd. Still, not very future oriented for a new product. The speakers are NOT very loud. Most of the time it isn't a problem, but if you get one of those embedded videos where the volume is already not very loud, it is hard to hear even with everything maxed out. The keyboard lighting is not on a sensor, but f-keys. But worst is that the finish is super slippery (not good for an ultra-portable that converts to a tablet. I am in perpetual fear that I will drop it. The finish also really collects oils and looks smudgy, similar to the razer blade's finish-premium,stylish, but never clean looking. Still, happy overall with my purchase.

I've had this computer for over a week, and I can't find anything to complain about. It starts up and shuts down quickly, it has a nice screen and keyboard, and it's well built and sturdy. I'm on it for at least four hours a day, reading newspapers and magazines, sending and receiving emails, and doing a little work using business software. It runs so quietly that I don't even know if it has a fan, and it keeps quite cool. The battery lasts a long time and charges quickly. It's pretty light in weight and sometimes I use it as a tablet, but I don't recommend holding it unsupported, as you would hold a phone, for it's a little heavy for that. All in all, I'm very happy with this computer and I'm glad I bought it.

I did a lot of research before buying this laptop. I read many many reviews on so many top of line laptops such as MacBook Air, MacBook, MacBook Pro (2015), Dell XPS13, Specter 360, and so on. I finally decided to go with this laptop and I couldn't be any happier with the decision I made. I'm gonna give you guys a pro, con list to help you with your decision:
Pro:
Very powerful & fast, great battery life, amazing hardware quality, great trackpad, keyboard is amazing and has a backlight, amazing sound (update the driver and it gets much louder), does not get hot at all, finger scanner to login
Con:
The screen quality is great but its no retina or 4k or qhd, the fan noise could bother some although it doesn't bother me much, it is a fingerprint magnet, I also didn't like that the power button is right under volume, I have turned the laptop off a couple times, trying to lower the volume.
Overall for the price you pay this laptop is AMAZING. Any other comparable laptop with the same hardware will cost you over $1500 and I don't believe the build quality is as amazing as this laptop.

There's little to pick on about this ASUS unit. It's fast, quiet, light enough to be portable, and has nice keyboard feel. Fit and finish are excellent, quality of build is solid, and it seems to be built to last.
Some have noted that its case shows fingerprints. Yeah, but that doesn't affect its functioning. The keys have a nice feel, give you enough feedback to know when they've been pressed, and the touch pad is nicely sensitive without being overly "touchy."
I'm not impressed with the fingerprint reader - it worked the first half-dozen times and not since. I have gone back and re-registered a fingerprint, but it doesn't work. Not a big deal for me, it wasn't a reason I bought this.
I bought this for these specific reasons:
- Light weight, just under 3 pounds.
- Long battery life. I have gotten over six continuous hours of use and still had battery left over.
- i7, 12 GB RAM, and 500+ gig HD. Not many computers in its class can come near these specs, and that's why it's really quick.
- Solid state HD. Thank you.
- Full size HDMI port, two USB-A ports and a USB-C port. I needed all the ports because I use this as a demo unit in training faculty.
Shortcomings:
- Fingerprint reader is just as bad as most other fingerprint readers.
- Shows fingerprints, but big, fat, hairy deal...
- The touch screen isn't high res enough for graphics
About the touch screen: it works fine for opening and closing programs and doing everyday computer work. No problem at all. Just be aware that if you pick up a capacitive stylus and try to do equations, drawing or work that requires high resolution, it will disappoint you. That's not what this screen is designed for. It will reproduce letters and numbers, but they will be blocky and not well reproduced. That's a bit more than this particular screen is designed for. I don't find that a fatal flaw, but it's one step short of what I was hoping for.
There is a definite pecking order of capacitive screens, and not all are capable of fine enough resolution on curves and small characters to serve for numbers, letters or artwork. Just be happy that you can run the computer with it.
Wireless works very well, and this machine seems very sensitive to finding networks. It performs very well in that aspect.
Overall, this is a great computer and I'm very happy with it.

My new ASUS Q324U Notebook PC arrived today and initial impressions are very good. Impressive build quality and design. Full HD screen is beautiful with excellent color reproduction and has 10-point touch capability. Hinges feel solid and transition from notebook to tablet mode is easy.
16GB DDR4 memory makes this machine fly. I run many programs and they all load almost instantly and respond quickly.
The 512GB is a Hynix M.2 2280 NGFF style (not pcie) and is plenty fast. Again, apps load almost instantly and I don't feel like I'm waiting for anything on this machine.
Keyboard feels good. It's a short stroke keyboard like a MacBook and feels comfortable. Backlighting works great and has three brightness levels. There is light bleed around the keys (especially the upper row) but it doesn't bug me.
For the price, this machine is the current value king of the slim and light notebook world. If it had a glowing fruit logo on the lid, it would cost $2,500.
For the price at which Best Buy is selling these, you get solid value.

I use this laptop for development mostly. I run both Windows 10 and Fedora Linux on it.
It is amazingly fast. I use a quad core system at work, but I rarely find this dual core system to be slow. It marches through tasks rapidly.
I find the size, weight, battery life, screen, backlit keyboard and set of ports to be wonderful. I also appreciate the compact charger.
The fan can be loud when it is plugged in and running a heavy load, but not as loud as other i7 based systems. Normally it is pretty quiet in my opinion.

Was looking for a light weight, powerful, long lasting laptop to travel with. The ASUS Q324UA more than fits the bill. I can go an entire day without plugging it in and the fingerprint sensor makes logging back in a breeze so I do not hesitate putting it to sleep to get even more life out of a single charge. My only hesitation is the lack of wacom pen input, only uses capacitive touch, put I was fully aware of this fact and it is half the price of a similarly equipped MS surface book pro.
