Great so Far!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a macbook pro but it was beginning to get to hot and the battery was dying to fast for some tasks I wanted to do so I began looking into a versitle computer where i can play games, edit videos/photos and also have a touch screen for storyboarding my projects. Lets just say this laptop is beautiful! Its thin and also has a simple sleek black and gold theme . The hinges are very sturdy and the touchscreen is very responsive. With 12gb ram , 2gb dedicated graphics and a 2tb hdd the computer is fast and can hold up. The battery is good considering it is a 2 in 1. I can stream about 5 or 6 hours of HD video while surfing the internet at the same time. The only thing i would say it is a little heavy but it is metal so other than that its great for the couples days ive had it and It was 200 bucks off due to the student program they have so for 850 bucks it was a steal!

100% Bang for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let's start off by saying i was looking for a computer with enough processing power to graphically program and enough graphics processing power to game, well so far this computer is the best laptop that I have bought. Here are its pros and its cons, pros obviously outweighing the cons by a huge margin! PROS: -Amazing keyboard, I'm a fast typer and whenever i hit a key about 90% of the time it actually registers. -Back-lit keyboard is very good when I have to quickly glance at it during times where there is no light. -Graphics card: Geforce 940mx is the best laptop graphics card for this price to date, gaming on this laptop is pretty fun, I played games on medium settings with high frames and had no issues. -No adware software when I bought it. -Amazingly fast for a laptop. -Nifty little bass speaker that also comes, very nice! -The touchscreen and the 350 degree flip is awesome when I want to draw and when im watching a video on my bed, I just flip the thing over and i feel like I'm on a tablet. CONS: -I am a full time student and I was looking for some deals, this item is marked as "blue label" which meant I could save $150 but the sales rep said it was not. -The laptop automatically sets itself to use the Intel integrated graphics processor, you have to manually set the preferred gpu in the nvidia graphics settings. Pros outweigh the cons as i said this laptop is amazing and I love it.

Great laptop, bad speaker placement
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a great laptop for the price, with 12 GB memory, 2tb of storage, and a discrete NVIDIA graphics card, good for anything from casual movie-watching to heavy gaming, all for about $750 (after student discount). Screen quality is also notably amazing, I've never seen such a clear screen on a laptop. However, there is a hugely disappointing feature, keeping it from 5 stars- the placement of the speakers is on the underside of the laptop, as you can see in the pictures provided by bestbuy. This means any time you play music while the laptop is sitting on a flat surface (table, bed, etc), the sound will be muffled. It doesn't sound terrible so it's not the end of the world of course, but it does considerably hamper the experience of watching movies, listening to music, or playing games. The subwoofer is largely unhelpful and sometimes randomly quits working until I fiddle with the audio driver to start it up again. My simple solution was just to tilt the laptop (or prop it up with the subwoofer underneath), until I was able to buy a separate bluetooth speaker. So if you're looking for profound sound, look elsewhere. If you're looking for a top notch laptop at mid-tier prices, this is the one for you.

First impressions are great.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am entering college in the fall as an engineering student, and while my school doesn't require me to own a computer (weird right?), I though it best to buy one for all my classes and for use to remote access lab computer to use CAD programs that I couldn't possibly afford to physically put on my own computer. I started out look at this computer, a Lenovo Y700 (Intel Core i7 + 16GB RAM), and an HP Envy (similar specs). The HP gave me great specs, but this PC and the Lenovo both had discrete graphics processors for a similar price to the other two. I opted to see them both in store and then I researched heavily online before purchasing this one. I decided to go with this one after I read horror stories online of the Lenovo dying after day one (I'm sure this isn't as common as the reviews would have me believe, but it scared me enough none-the-less). When I saw both in-store I gravitated to the sleek "premiem" gold and black metal design of this PC. I have to say it looks and feels great. The kdeyboard is responsive and easy to type on and the backlight is easily adjustable to any lighting condition. The computer feels very responsive all of the time and despite being a store-bought PC, it lacks most of the anooying bloatware that come standard with most modern PC's. The casing feels sturdy and well built, and the I/O is situated intelligently enough to feel normal when using in "tablet mode." The 3 USB ports + 1 thunderbolt port is a much appreciated jump from my lst computer. Audio is provided by Bang and Olufson's ICEpower, whatever that means. All I can say is that it is very, very flat audio until you plug in the included SonicMaster subwoofer, that makes the sound full and rich and doesn't take up too much space. Overall, the design of this PC is beautiful, the screen is great, the keyboard is responsive, and the only oversight (speakers) is fixed quite intelligently with the inluded SonicMaster subwoofer. This is a premium laptop, with premium specs, at a premium price, ad from a premium company. I have owned three Toshiba laptops, an HP, a Sumsung, an Acer, a Lenovo, and have had a Surface, and I feel that the quality in this computer easily surpasses all the others by a country mile. And I feel as if I had opted with one of the other two, that I wouldn't have gotten the same level of build-quality and specs for the price.

Great Laptop at a reasonable Price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a college student, so I needed a laptop to get my work done and play some games like CS:GO and FIFA 16. Unfortunately, when I first bought this laptop, it turned out to be a lemon. In less than 24 hours, the laptop froze about 20 times, and there were about 50 instances of BSOD(Blue Screen of Death). So, I got it exchanged for this model again. It has been more than 72 hours and this laptop is running smooth as anything. So here is the detailed review: * Built quality of the laptop: This laptop is very sturdy and doesn't feel cheap from any angle. The hinge is also very sturdy. Can give any macbook a tough competition in terms of sturdiness. * Although, the laptop features a 5400rpm HDD, the boot time is less than 10 seconds and the last bios time was 3.9 secs. The HDD shouldn't be a problem unless your are doing any 4k editing stuff. *Keyboard: Typing on this laptop is a sheer pleasure. The keyboard feels like a replica of those in macbooks. Very satisfied with the laptop. *4K Videos: This laptop can handle 4K videos very smoothly. Watching 4k videos on this laptop is nice experience. *Tablet mode: Using this laptop as a tablet is kinda ok because this laptop is about 5 pounds. *Sound Quality: Without the subwoofer, the output sound is average. But after attaching the subwoofer, its sound feels alive. At full volume, you can easily host a party for 4-6 people. Battery Life: So far, I have found the baterry life to be very satisfying. It gives me about 5 hours without the power save mode and with power saver mode, it can easily give around 8 hours. *Precision Touchpad: This laptop comes with a precision touchpad and using it was a nice experience as well. Gaming: So far, I have only played CS:GO and this laptop very well handled the game with high settings. Overall: Very Satisfied with the laptop. At this price, this laptop is a no brainer.

A relevant laptop for a student like myself.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would like to start of by saying that I was never planning on spending $1043.67 at best buy the day I bought this, however I spoke to a best buy employee who frowned when I pointed at the very low end laptops for around $250-$350.He knew I was a little more tech savvy and he wanted me to come and look at a couple of computers and this was one of them. Because I am a college student, and also due to a special clearance I got this laptop for 750$ before tax. 300$ off! I believe this computer is well worth it for that price but for $1100 which is MSRP I don't think I would. Considering I also got $160 geek squad full protection which consists of full software and hardware support (I can drop it and break it and get a replacement) AND the manufacturer warranty and a wireless display adapter ($50) value all for $1043.67 which worked out perfectly. 1.I use it mainly for web browsing. Talking to friends, Netflix steaming, music, etc. and it does all of these things very efficiently. High resolution screen. Touch screen works perfectly and pretty smooth even though it feels giant and clunky in tablet mode. Speakers on it are high quality but there is almost no bass unless you use the tiny subwoofer it came with. Keyboard is nice full size and backlit keys I cannot say enough good things about this laptop. 2. I would not recommend this to someone who wants to use it for gaming as I have played a pretty low range game on this "World of Warcraft" and although it was running the max graphics at high frame rates with no lag, the computer itself got very HOT on the bottom and the fan became 10X as loud as normal. I use my desktop for gaming because I don't want to prematurely put stress and wear on it. 3.The computer is very fast however I am planning on upgrading 2TB HDD to a 512SSD along with adding RAM. I believe you can replace the HDD with the SSD but you can not have both drives on this laptop. I believe you can add 16gb of ram from what I have heard, but I know for certain you can add 4GB to make it a total of 16GB. Both the SSD and the RAM upgrades are necessary in my opinion to get the most out of it. 4. As a general recap it is Great specs for price. Fast. Efficient. Quiet when not gaming. Upgrade SSD and RAM recommended. Beautiful design and feels very well built but not perfect. No software or hardware problems so far besides the occasional lag or confusion when there is an absurd amount of programs running. So if you can get it on sale as I did for a couple hundred bucks off I would go for it. I hope my honestly happy customer review helped someone make a decision.

ONE GREAT LAPTOP!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I can always depend on Asus to make quality laptops. Whenever I decide to purchase a laptop, I look to Asus. This is one quality laptop, rich in color (brown), excellent screen graphics, really fast, lightweight, backlit keys, and I could go on and on. Doesn't get hot and cool to the touch when resting the palms of your hands while typing. Quiet and can hardly hear the hard drive. The sound quality is nice, as well. Good job, Asus, in making another terrific laptop. Well worth the money!!!

Very Good Computer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I Paid $999 for this Model. I bought it because I budgeted myself no more than $1,000 for a Computer. (previously owned a 17" HP Laptop) It was missing several things I needed so I had to return it. The 15" screen for me was to small and The Computer doesn't have a CD ROM drive. Also the key board buttons are smaller than I am used to. This is a solid I7 Dual core Computer But for $200 more I Picked up an ASUS model GL752VWDH74 (On Best Buys website) With a 17" screen, bigger key board, a 128mb SSD Drive and a HD CD ROM drive. It is also a I7 Quad core with 16 mb of RAM and a Invidea 960m with 4mb of dedicated memory. I performed NovaBench tests on Both Computers after optimizing the Graphics Component Software and this Computer runs Graphics/Games 3-4 faster!! 3D frame rates per/sec on the 15" model were 273 on the 17" model they were 1005. If you will be doing any gaming deffinitly get the 17" model. For only $200 the 17" is a Huge Bargain. tldpdb1

Nice Laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop does everything I need it to do for school. Great look and feel with nice power. This computer is a finger print magnet and requires lots of cleaning to keep the case from looking smudgy all the time. The battery life leaves room for improvement as well.

Solid Laptop for the Price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a laptop that could provide a solid gaming experience on the go, as I am a busy graduate student. Got the laptop for a steal at $750 with the student discount. Performs well on most games, with medium settings(Tomb Raider, Dark Souls Overwatch, though I will trade graphical detail for frame rate), sometimes higher on older games or games that are just less graphically intensive. My only complaints are that the whole laptop is a fingerprint magnet, otherwise it looks fantastic, and that the trackpad is below average, but a USB mouse easily fixes this issue. Overall, I am a very satisfied customer and would definitely recommend this laptop to anyone in the market (unless they need a desktop replacement gaming laptop).

Great buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a great buy love the folding feature used for school but it can be an amazing simple gaming comouter. For school I love that I can turn it into a tablet, quickly loads things and I have multiple tabs open no problem. Plause games smoothly no issues except for the over heating issue after less than half hour of gaming. I will have to buy an external lap top base with a fan due to the really bad over heating.
