pretty good laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop about a week ago for mostly photo and video editing. The laptop is powerful enough to do what I need it for. I also have played some games on it which run smoothly. For the price tag I couldn't find a laptop with better specs. I like the 2 in 1 more then I thought I would. The touch screen is also very responsive.

Sounded so good...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This computer had all the specs I wanted at a reasonable price and I've mostly heard great reviews from this brand so I purchased it with the college deal. I planned on using this computer to take notes as well as casual gaming. Computer 1, everything appeared to working fine and a couple days in it started crashing. So if you looked at other reviews it's the blue screen of death. I even had a Geek Squad person look at it and they said it was a hardware problem. I returned the computer within the 15 day policy. Computer 2, I thought maybe it was just a lemon so I got this computer again. I had to wait a couple days to get it because of shipping. Being a college student, I need a computer basically everyday and this was a major inconvenience. When I finally got the computer the tablet keyboard lock didn't work. So in tablet mode the keyboard is still able to type and it's not supposed to do that. I brought it back and Geek Squad updated the drivers and reinstalled the keyboard lock, nothing work. They concluded it was a hardware problem so I returned it within the 15 day again. Computer 3, I decided to give this model a final try. I had to wait for the shipping again. Once I got this computer I tested it out and found the keyboard lock wasn't working on this one either. Right now I still have this computer but since I am within the 15 days period I am going to return it and get a whole new computer and brand. After dealing with this model some of problems I had that weren't exactly hardware issues: -Had a very slow start up time for the specs. (Might be reduced if you delete some of the useless programs they have automatically installed.) -Very reflective. (I find it weird seeing myself when I type.) -Can see finger prints for days. (Even on the backside of the computer.) -Battery life doesn't last long unless you have it on battery saving mode and have the brightness turned down. -Has a short battery plug in chord. -The slightly smaller keyboard is a bit more annoying than I thought it would be. (Such as the commas, shift bar, and arrow keys are very awkward when typing.) -The touchpad right and left click isn't the easiest to use. (You need to really click on the left side and the right sides on the bottom if you want to actually click.) -Also when using the touchpad it's hard to get your mouse across the screen and hard to get it to a precise spot. -Finally the touchpad feels weird. (This is just me being picky but if I pay this much for a laptop I want everything to be perfect.) If you do decide to get this computer anyway I would recommend immediately checking to see if the tablet keyboard locking is working and watch out for the start screen being distorted in anyway. The distorted opening just seemed to get worse and lead to the blue screen. So I'd return any computer that showed signs of that. Good luck computer shopping,

Great laptop for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm going to college soon and I needed a laptop for schoolwork. When I heard this was under deals, I brought down the price to about $899. After having for a couple of days, all that I thrown at it did not slow it down. It has a long enough battery life.

Shotty power supply
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The only reason this computer isn't getting a 5 star review is because 2 months into owning it the power supply failed. After buying and returning multiple different power supplies of name and off brand qualitiy power supplies, I still am unable to operate my computer. When it was operable the computer rand flawlessly, but the cable to charge it is near impossible to locate if needs replaced.

Great laptop for price!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This 2 in 1 touchscreen laptop is fast and has perfect touch response. Suits my needs perfectly! Only complaint is that I wish it came with preloaded word processing software.

Bad thing about the laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The bad thing is their is no ethernet port and the speaker jack should be the same size as normal speaker jack because it broke too easy.

Terrible support
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this laptop four months ago July 9, 2016 with a 3 year Service Plan. It has worked well until recently. The external speaker which is an Asus Sonic Master subwoofer with a 2.5mm jack and it's own dedicated port has stopped working (it does not use the headphone jack port). I took the laptop and speaker to BestBuy Geek Squad and stated the speaker is a special part and I would have to call and get one from the special parts store. I asked the Geek Squad to called them for me in the store and they said OK but I would have to talk to them. The person on the phone said they didn't have the speaker in stock and I had two options. To go to my place of purchase to get a new subwoofer or to call the manufacture. I told them I was calling from BestBuy my place of purchase and was told to call the parts store. So I had to call the manufacture because the parts store said they could not help me. I called the manufacture and they wanted to trouble shoot by removing the audio driver and re installing it. I told them I already did that and they acted like they didn't believe me so I had to go through the steps with them. They emailed me the driver and guaranteed it would work. I new I was getting the run around because I have work with computers for the last 20 years and told them I had performed those steps. After getting home I unpacked the zipped drivers and installed them. The subwoofer still don't work. I call the manufacture back and told them the drivers didn't work. They said well you have to buy a new subwoofer because it is an accessory with a 30 warranty. I explained it was a subwoofer the came with the laptop and the sound was terrible without the subwoofer. I was told to go to the Asus store and buy a new subwoofer. Frustrated I navigated to the Asus store to see what it would cost. There were no subwoofers listed and of cores the manufacture stated the store must be out of them. A $1000 laptop with a $300 service plan and I can't get a speaker fixed or replaced. I was successful in getting a run around.

Worst purchase ever...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ive had nothing but non stop issues with this laptop....I bought it for business and photoshop and in the 3-4 months ive had it its just kept going down hill until the other day I took it into geek squad.... she didn't offer much help and told me to make another appointment and try restoring it to factoring settings....so I did.....nothing......paid a computer guy to come over and 'fix' it.....he changed a couple things that helped but its still having problems.....it takes well over two minutes to open up the quick access folder and when I go to pictures it takes well over two minutes to load any kind of thumbnail......it lags, and freezes doing the simplest of things.....I wish I would have spent my money elsewhere

Not good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this computer about 2 months ago. I was busy with school/work and didn't set it up for a few weeks which was a mistake because if I knew then what I know now, I would have returned it. My HP was failing and I read all the reviews and thought I would go with a different brand this time. I thought, well if ASUS is good enough for gamers, it must be able to handle school papers. Not so. First off, it is bloated with ASUS programs. From turning it on to being able to use it takes about 3 minutes. Then, when it is running, it makes strange popping, clicking and whirling noises, so much so, when I'm writing a paper I have to turn on music or white noise just to drown out these annoying sounds. So I just wanted to warn those who are thinking of getting this computer to do homework or work requiring silence or the gentle hum from a computer. This is NOT the laptop for you. Unfortunately, I'm still paying for this hunk of junk so I'm stuck with it for another year. You've been warned.

Could be great if it worked correctly!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So, all I can say is that I am extremely disappointed with my first Asus purchase. I've been getting severe touch-pad lag that gradually comes on after continuous use and I get a sporadic single beep followed by a click from where the hdd is located. Apparently the solution is to send in the laptop for 3 to 8 weeks and hope the problem gets fixed. My advice to everyone, is to buy from a manufacturer who uses local repair facilities. If it wasn't for these issues, I would have given the laptop 5 stars.

Worst Laptop ever purchased
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I fall for the good reviews on this machine, and unfortunately I didn't start using it until 2 months after purchase, this was a mistake. Very slow startup time, short battery life, and the camera is bad. it is also a heavy laptop..I wish I can return this laptop back to BesBuy!! I feel I just wasted my money! I will not recommend this product to anyone!

The laptop is bent
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received this laptop yesterday, and straight out of packaging it appeared to be open box (I did pay for open box, I paid for brand new.) The box also had " Inspected by Best Buy" all around it. The laptop will not sit evenly on a surface, and upon closer examination I realized the physical laptop is bent. I will be returning it later today, but It is ridiculous I have to wait a week for a new laptop to come in because it is not sold in stores.

Absolute Garbage
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the worst electronic i have ever bought, let alone from best buy. There are so many problems with it half the time its unusable, If I could get a refund I would. SAVE YOURSELF the stress and don't ever buy trash with a nickname of a "computer"
